Never was an issue easier to look at the pros and cons and make a decision as to whether it makes any sense. Trump makes these edicts that maybe one entity like oil companies benefits from because they sell more gasoline, and doesn't even try to come up with any arguments that support benefits. When I heard the lamest excuse ever being rolled out it was funny except the guy is serious. Trump actually said that he was doing people a favor by decreasing fuel economy because the higher cost would mean people travel less.

Meanwhile the auto industry came to the conclusion early on that this was a disaster, it would have an array of negative impacts on the auto industry, including inferior parts, lose over 200,000 industry jobs, increase pollution, decrease fuel efficiency, and create chaos in the country with states adopting different mileage standards, thereby interfering in commerce between states.

California has the ability by law to set it's own standards, and the reality is that it was going it's own way and using the highest standards in the country as a very successful means to fight pollution in congested areas. The auto industry saw the wisdom and benefits of complying with their standards, and they were adopted for all of the states.

California just drop kicked and body slammed Trump by not only refusing to comply, but forming an agreement with several other auto makers to adhere to the Obama level standards in a unified way. Mercedes announced that they would be agreeing. Trump is digging in and trying to force compliance, which I don't even understand what that means...what, he is trying to force them to make crappier emissions standards?

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/20/climate/trump-auto-emissions-rollback-disarray.html?smid=tw-nytclimate&smtyp=cur

Here's a KOS piece that actually covers the bases in a relatively non derogatory manner

The auto industry “saw the wisdom and benefits of complying”? More likely the financial benefits were at the top of their list............ie: subsidies for most of the ridiculous price tag for the notoriously inefficient Volt. The value of the various bailouts is impossible to calculate. The feds have passed many regulations on the auto industry that have had enormous benefits for the traveling public but these days they are basically just perpetuating patronage.

It’s impossible to write enough laws to heal the dysfunction in our society. We have been intentionally divided, bribed, and misinformed for the purpose of maintaining power. When we still had the foundation of family, the presence of evil was restrained and, at least the possibility of civil society existed. The people hysterically shrieking for the abolition of the means of self defense have no concern for any interest but their own!!! Take a good look!...............this is Hillary’s “village”, LBJ’s “great society”, and Obama’s “change”.

That was not the intended comparison. The so-called Enlightenment, or it’s corruption, almost perfectly mirrors the misuse of the pop culture ideals of unity (globalism) and diversity (racial revenge). The point of the piece was to point out the differences in the two revolutions.

This is about a man named Harold, and a president named Barack.

This pretty much summarizes how Obama/Biden and most liberals view the US
military. You should understand what the left represent after reading this.

Harold was a bright child. He grew up in America. He went to school and had a bright future ahead of him. Harold was full of life but was cut short in a violent moment. While few people had ever heard of
Harold before his death, many did afterward And in death, something very shocking happened. What was so shocking, especially when it is compared to the death of someone else recently in the news?

Harold was Harold Greene, Major General, United States Army. On Aug. 5, 2014, Major General Greene was k**led by a Taliban terrorist.

He was returned to America with full military honors.

It has been a tradition that the president attends the funeral of general and f**g officers k**led in the line of duty.

Richard Nixon attended the funeral of a major general k**led in Vietnam and George W. Bush attended the funeral of Lieutenant General Timothy Maude, who was k**led in the 9/11 attacks.

While Major General Greene was buried, Barack Obama was golfing. The vice president wasn't there either. Neither was the secretary of defense.

F**gs were not even lowered half-mast. Do you think this is right?

Four days after Harold Greene gave his life for America, Michael Brown was k**led in Ferguson, Missouri.
Brown was at best a young thug. In the minutes before his death, he committed a robbery at a local convenience store. According to other reports, Brown struck Officer Darren Wilson and shattered his orbital bone. Obama sent a three-person delegation to Brown's funeral!

Neither Obama nor Biden would attend the funeral of the highest-ranking military officer k**led in the line of duty since 9/11, yet he sent a delegation to the funeral of a thug. sic

When Margaret Thatcher, one of America's staunchest allies and Ronald Reagan's partner in bringing down Soviet c*******m died, Obama sent only a small low-level delegation to her funeral. The snub was not missed by the British.

When Chris Kyle, the most lethal American sniper in history was murdered, there was no expression of sympathy from the White House.

But when Whitney Houston died from a drug overdose, Obama/Biden the administration ordered all f**gs be flown at half-mast.

There was no White House delegation at the funeral of an American hero.
American heroes die and Obama goes to the golf course.

A thug dies and he gets a White House delegation.

No wonder most "REAL" Americans hold Obama in such contempt, especially members of our Military.

And Biden is now expounding on how great was the Obama/Biden administration.

I truly hope America is paying attention to what is going on!
This is about a man named Harold, and a president ... (show quote)

Granted Baltimore has some serious problems (that Jared Kushner personally could alleviate by not being a slumlord). Yet not any more, and maybe less, than the following list shows of fifteen out of sixteen Red states:
-The least educated states are, from 46th to 50th: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, West Virginia and Mississippi.

-Highest poverty rates (46th to 50th): Kentucky, West Virginia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi.

-Most dangerous (46th to 50th): Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico.

-Highest share of people on food stamps in 2017 (46th to 50th): Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, West Virginia, New Mexico. (Does the GOP actually favor socialism?)

Most dependent on federal aid — i.e., “socialism” (46th to 50th): Kentucky, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi. (Again, Does the GOP actually favor socialism?)

Most polluted (46th to 50th): Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana.

Most people lacking health insurance (46th to 50th): Florida, Georgia, Alaska, Oklahoma, Texas.

If Trump were honest, he would mention the extremely sad and same condition of these states for decades now. But they are controlled by Republicans. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has been in the Senate since 1984 — what’s he done? Besides watering down and flat-out blocking efforts to safeguard our e*******l process, I mean. Turning a blind eye to Russian attacks on our democracy — which has kept him busy since the Obama era — is nothing less than dereliction of duty, and although he bristles at his new nickname, “Moscow Mitch,” I say if the boot fits, comrade, wear it.

You get the idea. When Trump, who wants those critical of America to leave, criticized it himself in his dark, creepy “American carnage” inaugural address (no inspirational “shining city on a hill” or “malice towards none” for him), he could have been talking about these ravaged, failing, mostly red states just as much as Baltimore’s 7th congressional district. But he’ll never do that, of course.

The northern states, in the years leading up the The Civil War, used their majority in government to narrow the cotton growing South’s access to European textile markets by way of the so called Abominable Tarrifs. Obviously, s***ery was a hideous crime against humanity, but, the fact remains that it was not what triggered the start of the war. Facing the total loss of income from it’s main source, the South felt they had no choice but to leave the Union. Secession, at the time, was generally considered a viable remedy under the Constitution. These points are still the focus of fierce debate. The abolishment of s***ery had been progressing throughout Western societies for decades but northern abolitionists were able to leverage the outbreak of the war to hasten it’s demise. The fact that the war started when and how it did, within months ,caused s***ery, in public perception, to be viewed as it’s cause. These influences led to the scorched earth policies which were responsible for the horrendous and tragic death toll and total destruction of towns and infrastructure. In the case of the South, the destruction was essentially total and complete. So little was left that over 250,000 corpses remained unburied. All of this is by way of explaining why the rebuilding of the South was incomplete and piecemeal, and is finally nearing completion now due to surging economies. The healing of the human spirit may never be complete!!!!

Here Question 1: Why is Moscow Mitch McConnell blocking any kind of legislation that would prevent any foreign adversary from hacking into our e******n process. Trump also continues to say the Russians didn’t do it.

So here is what we have every intel agency including the FBI, CIA and every intel agency in this country all confirm the Russians are doing it and are continuing to do it.

Question 2: If that’s the case where is Donald Trump getting his intelligence and he is determined to convince his ignorant base that the Russians didn’t do it. Trump did tell this country that Vladimir Putin told him they didn’t do it. So Trump gets his intel from Putin. I guess that makes sense to the Trump/ Moscow Mitch/ and Trumps comrades in the Senate.
