The Ugly Legacy of the French Revolution.

The June 22nd issue of the "New American" featured a piece titled, "The Ugly Legacy of the French Revolution."

This is a long and interesting read if the article is fully contained here. The situation taking place today seems near what took place leading up to the French Revolution. For those who are interested in an alternative view from what most news outlets provide, ya need to subscribe to the magazine.

I received the latest issue a day ago and haven't yet read it. However, the cover indicates that coverage of the present lunacy, where young children are being subjected to readings by t**********es at public libraries, is featured.

I checked, unfortunately, the "Ugly Legacy" article has been abbreviated.

My favorite part of the French Revolution was the way the people used guillotines to demonstrate what they thought about their version of those who, today, would have v**ed for Hillary Clinton.

I read enough to know that the bloody French Revolution held no comparison to the American Revolution. TheAmerican army didn’t arrest innocent children and guillotine them. That’s only the beginning of the differences. Napoleon was no George
Washington.

I think, Seth, you should acquire the magazine and read the full piece. It may be a matter of who's interpreting the history, but according to the article, it's liberals who would have v**ed for Hillary that started things off.

If ya care to learn more, a book titled, "Citizens" by Simon Schama is a good source.

I hope, Carol, you're not inferring that I think there is a comparison. The savagery reported in the article, taking place during that period, is difficult to comprehend.

The American Revolution, when compared to the French and Bolshevik revolutions and probably most other revolutions throughout history, could perhaps be considered a cakewalk.

That was not the intended comparison. The so-called Enlightenment, or it’s corruption, almost perfectly mirrors the misuse of the pop culture ideals of unity (globalism) and diversity (racial revenge). The point of the piece was to point out the differences in the two revolutions.

What I know about it are general facts. The Little Ice Age decimated the cereal crops and the people wouldn't eat potatoes because they tasted awful. They were used only for animal fodder. Peasants wouldn't even eat them. So, there were bread r**ts and battles and hunger eventually lead to the French Revolution. As far as the atrocities committed by the commoners on the aristocrats, I know very little except for the guillotine. Form what I have read, over 4,000 aristocrats were k**led by this method. It also gave birth to the Metric System and Celsius temperatures., even a new calendar that didn't last. I'm sure there were many horrible acts at that time.
