This weekend's mass shootings weren't the only ones in recent history.... Dec 14,2012 Sandy Hook massacre that k**led 26 people,including 20 children ages from 6 to 7...Congress was supposed to do something about gun control,end up doing nothing!!!!....Will it happen this time???...Or doing something about mental illness???..We DO need stricter gun laws,but we also need to do something about mental illness...Will Congress and the Senate come back from their summer vacation and propose the law that addresses these 2 problems together???....I would like to think so,but i wont hold my breath!!!..Especially from Congress that really truly h**es this President,more then they love this country.....And that is very unfortunate!!!!

They want to give the appearance that they’re doing something. It takes too much effort for them to address the root cause which has no easy answer.

We need both gun control and a way to deal with mental Illness. My guess better background checks and tighter restrictions to assault rifles. Which could be tied to background checks. I still don't think that you need a AK 47 to shoot deer or for target practice. We can not take away guns cause then only the crooks will have guns. But there MUST be some middle Ground which even Trump has come out for. I give him credit for this one. but I don't think the GOP led Senate will work with the Democrat held House.
The American people will have a say in this in November of 2020 If nothing happens from this

I agree with your post, and the bad part? Mental illness is only going to get worse. Drugs, illegal and prescription play a big part.

I was watvhing his speech..It was good speech,but he should of said to Congress and the Senate to come back in Session and pass some laws that will effect mental illness and gun laws....He also talked about ERPO..Emergency Risk Protection Act!!!!

Never underestimate the deviousness of the left and there desire to destroy this country and take it over the left is also in bed with the one world government people and they will stop it nothing in achieving their goal. Did you see the picture of the shooter that entered the Walmart by chance? He had on eye protection and ear protection like he was going to the range for target practice this says to me he thought that he was going to come out of this shooting and go on living. This points to me that someone or some group got to these shooters and did something to them to sell them on the idea of pulling off these shootings. These shootings were orchestrated they were not the work of some crazed individual.

If congress will agree that something must be done then something will be done. So far the people who get into an unrealistic panic over their second amendment rights have had their way and nothing gets done. If president trump strongly and passionately calls for action it may help considerably. Time to get real here. The 2nd amendment should remain but with strict requirements and restrictions.
