I haven't called any one a r****t. And the character in the Jesus story was a liberal not a conservative. We American people like to believe that we are noble and have the best intention but the history of our actions of aggression in Latin America and around the word belies that fact. Liberals have nothing against the revolutionary war. The fact is it was conservatives that were against that war. They were called loyalist. Yes the KKK was started by Democrats. The south had been solidly Democrats since Thomas Jeferson. When the National Democratic party flipped from small government to big government intervention in the 1930's the south stayed conservative Democrats (Dixiecrats)


It wasn't conservatives that tried to hold the union together and free the s***es. The conservatives in the south beloved the States should be sovereign and have the right to nullify federal laws they didn't like and so seceded from the union to preserve their way of life including s***ery.
Muslim fundamentalist and Christisan fundamentalist have a similar way of thinking both are conservative, It's just that the Muslim Fundamentalist are rabid enough to blow themselves up to get their way The Tora, the Koran. and the old testament is the foundation of all three monotheistic religions and Orthodox Jews, fundmentalist Muslims, and fundalmentalist Christions share a conservitive world view.

The US has never attacked another Democracy true but the record of US intervention in Latin Amereica on Behalf of Wall Street Banks and US interprise around is extensive. Prior to the establishment of the UN it was called Gunboat diplomacy. After the UN was established after WW ll the CIA bvegan doing covertly what previously done overtly. Steve you really need to read some history books rather what youve heard or been told. There many good history books that could open your mind to reality

To stay, to go...I have struggled mightily with that thought of late, feeling out of kilter, out of sorts, needing to reclaim the balance in this thing we call "life" that I seemed to have misplaced somewhere along the way. One of the conclusions I have come to is that it "is" time -- time for me to take my leave.

True, but the cost of health care was never about insurance. the cost of healthcare was due to the outrageous prices and fees charged TO insurance companies and individuals. It is kind of a pyramid scheme. Education for health professionals is too expensive, due to the greed of those running the institutions. The myriad middle men for medical equipment and supplies, all making insane profits. Overpaying hospital administration. Ridiculous lawsuits and awards. All the patent fees to universities for medical breakthroughs and treatments. The list goes on.

There could be viable, affordable healthcare for everyone, but the Gov. has to get out of the insurance business and INTO the healthcare business.

Of course I would like everyone have healthcare! On the same hand I don't feel my healthcare has anything to do with someone elses. I don't believe for a minute I should pay for anyone elses healthcare!!! I worked 70 hours a week or more for most of my life to help care for my family. We have never once asked for any type of hand out from anyone ever!! I had the better education in my marriage so it was agreed I could bring in the better paycheck I would be the one to work more hours outside the home. My husband worked full time and kept the home clean and did all the cooking, laundry etc. and it worked out fine. I was home for all the big events and holidays. Now you take someone who can't be bothered to get up and go to work even 4 hours a day and looks for everything to be handed to them. Tell me after all my sacrifices why I should pay for that person to have anything. The government taxes us for every single thing we do. Let them pay for those that want healthcare handed to them. They have taken tens of thousands from my family over the years. I've paid enough!!!! Everyone has the right to healthcare!! The type and amount they have is up to them!!!! I don't even want to hear about the struggles people face. We all have struggled. As I have told before my family ( mother and siblings) wound up in the projects in Brooklyn when my father deserted the 6 of us. My mother worked every waking moment to get us out of there. We all worked hard and we all got out!!!! It took years and years but we got out!!! We suffered and at times went to bed hungry . That was the fuel to keep us motivated. There is no excuse for looking for hand outs but laziness!!! Healthcare for all??? Absolutely!!! Pay for it yourself??? Absolutely!!!

Mash be Jimmyboy you should realize that basically the US military command is republican laning to be kind. We've all heard ,I believe,of the difficulty that Truman had w Mccarthur, LBJ, w Westmorland, now we have seen first hand another repeat of generals know best when first McCrystal and then Petreuse committed treason by trying to secretly release Top secret info about the wars to reporters before critical p**********l reviews. Then there was the women issues.
The point is that the military hasn't wanted to get out of either Iraq or Afghanistan. They want to retain a major presence in both country's as conquering barbarians. Where are the current Powell's and Swartzkoff's.?
Clark is reasonable but he's retired because he makes too much sense. Military commanders are supposed to determine and recommend and sell what is best for the country. It's all this lobbying, cost over-runs, $$$ in the military that's ruining it. Get back to basics and kick all lobbyists,mentors,contractors,consultants the hell out of the Pentagon.
