To stay, to go...I have struggled mightily with that thought of late, feeling out of kilter, out of sorts, needing to reclaim the balance in this thing we call "life" that I seemed to have misplaced somewhere along the way. One of the conclusions I have come to is that it "is" time -- time for me to take my leave.

Before I go, I just want to say "thank you" all for sharing your insights and your reflections, and for giving me a greater appreciation for the complexities of the human spirit. OPP has been "a gift" of incredible life lessons. I have learned something from each and every one of you who has taken the time to post your thoughts. Some have touched my heart with their spirit, some have made me smile, and some have made me reflect especially hard. Thanks for the ride!! I wish you all well and safe journey.

I'm sorry to see you go from here, but I completely understand. Besides, it's not a goodbye, per se, just a change of venue! ;)

I will miss you personally. I have enjoyed you here immensely. I understand your wanting or needing to quit.
I also am in deep reflection ,as to whether to go or stay, for a brief moment longer. I have seen and been witness, to so much good and have seen my higher power or as the word God is used in my description ,help others.
:) so I say good by my friend thank you for being part of this journey called life. I have been richer because of your being in my life. Tonight I will personally thank Him for your being in my life, even from afar. Auf Wiedersehn... Gods speed.
cant beleve .

Farewell...
Just a shot in the dark, but if that's your property in Virginia I have a suggestion. Nothing gives me more peace of mind than metal detecting.
Plenty of time to let your mind dwell on any subject. The bonus is finding an artifact of value that pays for the equipment many times over.
Just look on places like youtube and bring up videos of people enjoying
this wonderful hobby.

It is, and your suggestion is a wonderful one, because out next to one of our barns in a pasture (protected of course) is a tombstone of a Confederate soldier, and back in the woods behind the barn is the rock foundation of s***e quarters. Of course, I'll probably have to save "looking" until fall. Spring has arrived, I have begun "some" planting for my organic market, have chatted with the Amish community to see what "holes" in my gardening "plan" they would be willing to fill. I have already begun frantically watering plants that need to be set out, but the soil still soggy from both winter snow and spring rain, so the majority of the ground can't be utilized just quite yet. Perhaps, today, I will price one of those metal detectors.

Thank you for your kind words. Notice I am d**gging my feet at going, but gotta do it. Your suggestion of investing in cattle "again" is tempting, having seen how "sweet" the prices are. However, we have had two or three very wet springs, and knowing a drought can't be too far around the corner puts a damper on things. We have been through two droughts with black angus, and the second drought, not pretty. Not sure we could handle drought again. 2,800 lbs. of hay each day, winter time alone, a lot of hay to feed a small herd of cattle. As it is, a few of our neighbors depend on us for hay. It is tempting though.

The OPP forum will be a much lessor place without your input, Searching. Posts from you were, almost without fail, graceful and charming in your approach to the topic at hand. Bubbly and vivacious in your upbeat, spirited responses...you always exhibited a positive approach to difficult matters. In any list of quality ladies of the OPP, you would sit at or near the top.

I will miss your presence. Take care, and be well!

H**e to see you go as we will all be worse off without your input and insight on various matters. Take care and remember that you always have a home here or a chance to stop in and spout off about something anytime you care to. Will miss you but Virginia is beautiful now so go and enjoy.

Well Searching, your gentle touch in this forum will be missed. Please remember that sometimes when feeling out of kilter, out of balance, out of sorts, it might be your own self that needs to look within to something that may need resolved, or remembered, or justified.
Our own mind seems to know when it is able to deal with something that has remained hidden for years. So take a good look within as you go through your move- or change, and be good to yourself.
I will miss your posts and comments. Very Smart person!

We make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold. (we here on opp are your gold!)
