The left wants everyone to believe that we are, but I totally disagree. Most all are center, with maybe a slight right lean, just my opinion.

I respect that but...I look at each topic from gay rights to increasing the minimum wage..and polls show that the the majority agrees with the left side of that particular issue....some issues are slightly like 55%.. But some like gun control...is like 80%...I'm not sure of any issues that are polled which leans right...but there might be some I'm not aware of

I think I disagree with this. First of all. most polls are written to get the response they want, not what people really believe. It also depends on who you poll and where that poll is taken as to the answers you get. I think most people in this country are center right. The progressives you mention are in the minority, but they also make the most noise. With the media acting the way it does and not reporting on most things properly, you get a wrong opinion of what is really going on and how people feel. I have taken a few polls myself and NONE of them have the answer I want to give. Even if I write it in, they just toss mine because I did that. Even if we write our views in the remarks section it means nothing. It is the answers to the question they are interested in. We had polls in the military at different times that had NO answers that anyone wanted to mark, but that was because they were looking for a given response. Same with these opinion polls they hand out. If you ever take one you will see exactly what I mean.

I have to admit I've never taken a poll..but should we not believe any polls? That's the only thing I can go on...if not, then there is no way any of us can answer the original question..it's just opinion..but it makes for good conversation...I will admit, my entire premise was based on polls...if we throw those out..there's just no definitive answer either way

If you sell a product and that product is a poll, and it isn't something the people who purchased it, want to hear, the likelihood that you will get more business is remote. If you give "favorable" results people will buy your product...'
It is like the "climate surveys" given at work,, do you really think they care what you "feel",,,, cause if you have ever read those "polls" there aren't many people who think anything positive,,, nothing really good to "act" on,,,, so they construct a poll to address a subject, and sometimes attempt to hide the subject so that people wont give them the answers they think the pollster wants to hear.....or what is politically correct,,,

I have no problem with that at all! I have an open mind to different view points..I just don't like that if I disagree with some one the insults sometimes fly..not always
As for polls...you know more about this subject than me...but aren't they sometimes accurate? Remember when all the polls showed Obama to win his second term..Fox news hosts and their guests were basically saying that they aren't true...turns out they were...I would imagine some polling companies are better than others
