I understand there is an interest to reintrduce the gold
standard. I think Europe is gradually moving the euro to some
partial backing. If we did that here, there would be some
dislocatons, butit might work. I don't think it will happen
here. Google Executive Order 11110, Kennedy's move to give
congress the authority to make coinage and currency. It didn't
get very far.

They are non profit prophets. Even their profits are worthless. A real prophetess, Jean Dixon, predicted that
the two party system would be gone in our lifetime;
she was correct.

Wrong! No one was fooled. Everyone knows that OCare is programmed to collapse. Sen Baucus calls it a "train wreck".Mr Obama has to be the longest lame duck president
in history. All that is needed is a janitor to clean up
the mess.

This is the result of wearing the"castoff garments of pinch-
beck emperors". The words in quotes are from Irish-American satirist Peter Finley Dunne. I think the country is about to
esperience tough love. Everyone should get a copy of Homer
Dixon-Thomas' book "The Upside of Down". It offers some words
of emcouragement. We're going to need them.

You've been set up. capt Smith was always an adventurer.
the Virginia Company was set up in London, and recruited
settlers from the city folk. The London of the early seventeenth century was not an easy place to live. by today's
standards, they were very hardy people. the London of the
early 17th century was also very disease-ridden. When the
settlers got malaria in the jamestown swamps, they probably
felt at home

It was Captain John Smith at the Jamestown, VA settlement. He said, "You
don't work; you don't eat". Pragmatism is using what you got to do what
needs to be done. The country was built on it. It isn't a party, it's a way of
thinking. It may be hard to find today, but it's still around. It is easiest to
find when you need it the most.

A free thinker doesn't readily accept easy answers; he ar she may consider them as patented boredom. One of the requirements of a free thinker is that they read a lot,
and question what they read. been there; done that.
Other comments please.

I studied C*******m in college (in the 60s, when you actually
had to know something) A few days into the course, we covered
the dialectic of materialism. The theme was constant conflict, whether it be civil war or government edict. I pointed out to the prof that this couldn't possibly work; nothing would gget done. In t***h, Marx was a prophet, and a very bad one. Even the hardcore marxists are abandoning the ideology. I suggest you google " Prophecy of Khruschev".
Even gradualism doesn't work. In short, Marx and his ilk shouldbe buried and forgotten.
