Pfffft. She was his biotch before she was elected, or she wouldn’t have gotten elected. I think it’s great that a person who has no experience and is all the things you can’t talk bad about is in charge of frigging Chicago. I wish her the best and hope she has great success in turning that ship around. I’ll be right here downstate with a lawn chair and a bowl of popcorn watching.

I have trips already planned to go see my younger daughter in college in South Dakota this summer, and a trip to northern Indiana to visit some friends. I have another friend in eastern Pennsylvania that I may have to go see and hit Gettysburg’s historical sites.

As a note, the man I mentioned above had ALS which basically disconnects your brain from your body, making it so you no longer can control your limbs, progressing to more basic functions. As I mentioned, you eventually lose the ability to intentionally swallow. The living hell part, is your brain is fully alert and functional throughout the process so you are trapped in your own body completely helpless and knowing what is happening and how you are going to die. It’s a rough gig that I wouldn’t wish on anyone

If either had asked for help to the other side, I would have helped, though never suggest it. (As I know now, a peaceful extra dose of morphine would have done it.) But we were very Catholic. It was thought to be murder. And there was also the belief that God would find it in his mercy for a cure. I guess more than it would be murder as a deterrent, turning one's back on hope and God's power was a more effective argument.

In 1989, I went for a Hospice Degree. What I learned over the next four years, both in class and in hospitals, made me advocate for assisted suicide, even in cases of Alzheimer. But I am still not totally comfortable with my belief. Mostly that it can become a slippery slope and, like the presence of a******n, might inculcate a decrease in the sacredness of life. Or not. Maybe increase it.

If you were in extreme agony and told there was no possible cure, your family forced to see you tortured day after day after day and unable to help, what would you do and why?

I’ve thought about this for years due to events that have occurred in my own family. I speak for no one but myself on this. I feel it should be available as an option, yes. After watching and caring for a loved member of my (now ex) wife’s family fade into a skeletal shell of a once strong man, whose only future was waiting until he could no longer swallow and would drown in his own saliva, then yes given the opportunity to pass with dignity would have been a much preferable option. I’m sorry to hear about any issues, Rumi. I don’t post a lot on here but I read all the postings daily and while I don’t agree with all your stances, I do appreciate your passion and your willingness to defend your position. I wish you well.

I am an old man with time on my hands.
I am above average in intelligence & practical knowledge.
I tend to think that I am as capable as most on this site to render my political views.

I truly believe that we need to take into account what every one has to say in how this nation should be run.
I have lived my personal life in a very conservative way.
For over 50years I was self employed offering a service.
I have investments & other personal wealth.
I can deal with what ever takes place in the marketplace.

I choose to look at political issues in a liberal way.
I feel that the conservatives lack empathy & are overly concerned with taking advantage of others.
It is my feeling that both liberal & conservative issues need to be addressed that achieves a healthy balance.

I feel I under stand these issues as well as or better than most.
I feel it is with people of sound minds that need to set what the balance of both sides of what issues are.

For it is the right side of the issue that knows no boundaries. They leave noting for any one but them self.
We live in a complex world with vast differences & lack a sound way to deal with al those differences effectively

We have reached a point in time where the issues of how things take place are under a lot of stress.
The white race has had a long run in controlling much of what has taken place.
Much of what has been done has caused pain & harshness to others.

As a nation having been run by old white males for a long time.
Are now faced with having to live with many that are tired of what has taken place in the past.
Now we can adapt & help make the changes to make the world a better place for others.
Or try to hang on to what we have & loose some or much of what we have.
It is how we go about helping things change for the better.
THE BETTER WE HELP THE MORE WE SAVE OF WHAT WE HAVE.

The sooner we get with a new plan the better our life can remain.
As a nation we are so divided within our self that we can no longer face the world in a united way.

What can you promise those that would have to fight for what you wish to keep.
How many of your children will you send to war?

All we can do as a nation is cause a lot of pain & damage to others.
We can not win any thing. (Some of us have it all now)
Those that have nothing or very little have it all to fight for.

Now we have a leader who is only dividing us further as a nation.
All in the hope of the white male keeping their role in world leadership.

Now I am an old white male.
I have no death wish or the wish to have it all.
I have what I feel is enough & can get by with less if needed.

We all need to look at the big picture.
Who will win & who will loose?

I say if I can face it al & break even I can not ask for any thing more than that.
So I say to many of you out there you can have it what ever way you want.
I am to old to fight & may not have much to offer in cleaning up the mess that is sure to come.
Just remember that in a war there is a steep price to pay.
Your life of what ever it may cost to pay to have some one fight for you.
The price you may end up paying for some one to fight your war may end up costing your country.

Why to I get so worked up on this issue?
Most of you out there running you lips over how screwed up I am truly need to face what you wish to see.
I can only sit by & if I am alive after all is said & done at most can only say
"I told you so".

So I will end this with wishing you all to take a good look around & take a good measure of what you risk & what you could gain.

I’d just like to start by saying I appreciate you and while I don’t agree with everything you have to say, you do show thoughtfulness and don’t do the ad hoc sweeping condemnation that comes from certain individuals on here. The part you have here that caught my attention was the part where you were complaining about the country being ran by “old white males”. This seems to be a go to phrase for a growing number of people who would rather use this as the focal point rather than looking at policy stances of the individual regardless of race or sex. I don’t want to say that you yourself feel this way specifically, but since the phrase was included, I wanted to put my two cents in. I seem to remember someone saying something about judging a man (or woman) by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin. I personally try to do that regardless of their political stance and am feeling a little worn out listening to people tell me what they think that I believe based on my assumed g****r and or race rather than asking me what I actually believe. We have devolved into a society of people yelling at each other and no one is listening anymore. I’m glad I live way out in the woods where I can go home and it’s quiet. So far. I am in Illinois and they’ll probably start taxing sitting quietly before long.

I have a fair sized garden and can, dry or freeze the excess. We have chickens for meat and eggs on the farm and hunt most seasons. I now live alone but since I’ve done most of the cooking for the last 25 years it wasn’t too hard to bring it down to one person meals. I’ve cut all pop out of my diet and am working on most refined sugar now. But yes I like sustainability and homegrown foods whenever possible

Every year, many thousands of American parents find that the son or daughter they sent to college has been t***sformed by college into a l*****t. For left-wing parents, this may be a blessing, but for parents who are not l*****t—not to mention conservative—it is often painfully jolting.

It is jolting because their beloved child now holds America in contempt; prefers socialism to capitalism; regards all white people and police as r****t; believes the Bible, Christianity, and Judaism are not only nonsense but dangerous nonsense; no longer believes men and women are inherently different—or even that male and female objectively exist; is disinterested in getting married and having children; believes the president of the United States is a f*****t—as are all those who v**ed for him, and supports the suppression of speech that he or she regards as “h**e speech.”

While this is music to the ears of left-wing parents, most traditionally liberal parents will not be all that happy with this t***sformation.

Unlike l*****ts, most liberals do love America and think that, despite its flaws, it is worthy of respect. They do not believe male and female are subjective categories, and they believe in free speech—even for “h**e speech.”

For conservative parents, the t***sformation is far worse. “Nightmare” is not too strong a description. Not only does their child hold everything they cherish in contempt, their child, who loved and respected them a year or two before, now holds them in contempt.

It is a nightmare for another reason: Young people who are t***sformed into l*****ts almost always become less kind, less happy, and angrier.

It’s hard to imagine the opposite could occur—that is, that a young person could buy into all the left-wing views described above and become a sweeter human being.

It is a sad rule of life that wh**ever the left touches, it ruins; music, art, literature, religion, late-night TV, the Academy Awards, sports, economics, the family structure, the Boy Scouts, and race relations are just a few examples. It also ruins people—their character and their happiness.

How could it not?

One of the prerequisites of good character—as well as of happiness—is gratitude, and leftism is rooted in ingratitude. If you are grateful to be an American, you are, by definition, not a l*****t.

If you are, for example, a black who is grateful to be an American, you are a “t*****r to your race,” an “Uncle Tom.”

If you are a woman who is grateful to be an American, you are a “t*****r to your g****r.” Feminist icon Gloria Steinem once called female Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison a “female impersonator” because a r**l w***n cannot be a conservative.

In addition, the left drills into every nonwhite and every woman the idea that they are victims, and people who see themselves as victims are ungrateful and angry, two traits that always make a person meaner.

Every parent whose child came home from college (or, increasingly, high school) a l*****t should be asked: “Is your daughter or son happier as a result of becoming a l*****t? Is he or she kinder? More tolerant? More respectful?”

So it is not only institutions that the left ruins, but also the character of its adherents.

Where are the prominent conservative equivalents of Robert De Niro shouting “F— Trump” at awards ceremonies?

Of Sarah Silverman tweeting to the president of the United States: “I’m just gonna go with F— YOU, and also add that you are a smelly penis hole with balls that touch the water. Eat s—, you greedy t—“?

Of Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., telling supporters, among whom were children, “We’re gonna impeach the motherf—er”?

Every American should watch how a group of 10-year-old girls recently treated 85-year-old California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. Being indoctrinated into leftism apparently permitted them to treat a U.S. senator, not to mention a woman 75 years older than them, with contempt.

It is inconceivable that a group of 10-year-old conservative kids, accompanied by their teachers, would ever treat an 85-year-old, senator or not, so condescendingly.

When you send your child to college, you are not only playing Russian roulette with their values. You are playing Russian roulette with their character and the way they will treat you.

Left-wing parents do not have a similar worry. If their child somehow returns home from college a Christian or a religious Jew, not only will they not be treated with contempt, they will probably be treated with even more respect than before.

Leftism makes you worse. Judeo-Christian religions make you better. That might not be a fashionable view, but it just happens to be true.
Every year, many thousands of American parents fin... (show quote)

I’m sadly a member of this group. My daughter went to college and is now one of the classic snowflake l*****t socialist i***ts. I love her completely as my daughter and not only accepted her when she came out to me as lesbian but told her I wasn’t surprised and had known for awhile but didn’t think it was that big of deal. What I don’t like is her telling me what she thinks that I believe based on what she is told that old straight white guys are like. She won’t have a conversation about virtually anything and is depressed and angry most of the time. She has started going to therapy for her depression which is good. I gues part of my problem is that she h**es capitalism and the patriarchy and straight white males, but doesn’t have a problem with the fact that my brother, her uncle who is a conservative straight white male that makes a lot of money via capitalism has funded her college for her to the tune of $60k and her old fashioned straight conservative grandparents bought her a nice car when the one I gave her a few years ago finally quit and she has got nothing but encouragement and support from her sister and I but screw us because of reasons. I get “I h**e everything you stand for, but by the way can you send me this stuff I need for this anime convention I’m attending in Omaha?” I love her but I miss my daughter.

Donald Trump is the most prolific liar in history. His blatant lies, narcissism, and incompetence have made him a walking disaster for our country. This all pales in comparison to his recent budget proposal. After giving massive tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations, he now wants to make up the difference by stealing from hard-working American citizens who have been contributing members to society and who, upon retirement, are counting on the funds that have been involuntarily extracted from their paychecks for many, many years.

Trump proposes to cut $845 billion from Medicare, but that’s not all — this proposal also includes across the board cuts to both Social Security and Medicaid according to The Washington Post and MSNBC. Trump would have a massive revolt on his hands if he could pass his spending bill, which he claims will balance the budget in 10 years. According to the Washington Post, this bill cannot possibly balance the budget before 2034. Yet another lie from Trump. Taking money from the elderly, poor, and sick is despicable, and I have a suggestion for Trump to balance his budget without stealing from Americans.

Trump needs to keep his useless butt in Washington and do his job. According to the Washington Post, taxpayers paid over $64 million for Trump’s trips to Mar-a-Lago during 2017 and 2018. To see the full range of his travel activities, take a deep breath first and check out this article. Further, NBC News reported that in 781 days in office, Trump spent 229 days at Trump properties and 173 days at his golf properties. In February 2019, the Government Accountability Office estimates that federal agencies incurred approximately $13.6 million for FOUR trips to Mar-a-Lago (from February 3 to March 5, 2017) as published by NPR. These figures do not include the hundreds of thousands spent in secret service protection for Junior and Eric’s travels.

Trump’s “presidency” is about him and no one else. He wants to take healthcare from seniors who can no longer fend for themselves to build a wall in his honor that no one else wants. Not only do the vast majority of Americans NOT want a wall, it has been proven time and again that walls don’t work. The vast majority of illegal drugs come through legal entry ports, and the vast majority of i******s are here on overstayed visas. He continues to ignore the facts, all to leave some useless monument to his failed “presidency.”
Donald Trump is the most prolific liar in history.... (show quote)

I’m getting the impression that you might not be a fan of President Trump. Just wondering what your own proposals would be to overcome the budget issues, the immigration issues and the illegal drug issues. Bearing in mind you would have to implement your solutions with a Congress that h**es you and would fight you if you came up with a way to cure aids.
