Obama: 'I’m going to do what I need to do' on immigration
Published November 09, 2014

GOP, President Obama deeply divided on immigration

President Obama repeated Sunday that he intends to change U.S. i*********n l*w through executive action, over Republican leaders’ repeated requests to wait and dire warnings about the consequences of sidestepping Congress.

“I’m going to do what I need to do,” Obama told CBS’ “Face the Nation,” in an interview taped on Friday.

As he has said before, the president said he would prefer that reform legislation come through Congress, but that he has waited for more than a year for House Speaker John Boehner to pass a bill like the Democrat-controlled Senate has done.

“If a bill gets passed, nobody would be happier than me,” Obama said.

His remarks followed similar ones made Wednesday, which brought dire warnings from Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell that were followed by more on Sunday.

“I believe [executive action] will hurt cooperation on every issue,” Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., told “Fox News Sunday.” “I think it would be like the president pulling the pin out of a hand grenade and throwing it in as we are trying to actually work together. I am hoping that cooler heads at the White House can prevail."

The comments by Barrasso, chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, followed Boehner warning Obama that using executive action would “poison the well” and McConnell, who will likely be the Senate majority leader next year, comparing it to waving a f**g in front of a bull.

“Their time hasn’t run out,” Obama told CBS, arguing that legislation passed by Congress would supersede his executive action.

To be sure, the president is under pressure to use executive action on immigration reform, after promising Americans that he would by the end of summer, then delaying any action until after the midterms, which upset Democrats’ strong Hispanic base.

Obama also said Sunday that inaction is a “mis-allocation of resources” and that the country cannot continue to deport people who should be allowed to stay and keep those who should leave.

History of the Condom

I've always been a student of history but I didn't know this.

In 1272, Arabic Muslims invented the condom, using a goat's lower intestine.

In 1873, the British refined the idea by taking the intestine out of the goat first.

Don't thank me, I do this as a public service for the advancement of education.

FYI: I did not run this through Snopes but I got it from a friend that I totally trust!

Wonderfully warped!! Guess the Muslims haven't heard about the British improvement yet.

Yes, that is why he is a master-baiter isn't it. Shel would be proud of you. seriously folks; the "progressives"' do not understand economics and the concept of growing the pie nor the law of supply and demand. They would do well to add to their libraries any of Thomas Sowell's books on economics, Hyack's The Road to Serfdom, and Why Nations Fail. that is if they have room on the bookshelves crowed with kiddie porn, Marx and Engles, and "Q***ring Jesus." and the CPUSA newsletters.

Just a funny little story

A Minnesota couple decided to vacation to Florida during the winter. They planned to stay at the very same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday. His wife would fly down the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile.....somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister of many years who was called home to glory following a sudden heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she fainted.

The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived
Date: January 10, 2013
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send e-mails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is not as uneventful as mine was.
P.S. Sure is hot down here!

And part of that should be calling it the homosexual agenda and stop saying GAY.

Gay means festive. Homosexual means homosexual. You can start calling homosexuals any name you like but they're still homosexual, so call them that.

Every time you use the word gay, you are caving in to the demands of the homosexuals. You need to decide which side of this issue you stand on.

Keep reminding people of that fact PLEASE

Remember the days of Leave it to Beaver?

*********
TMC,
"Leave It to Beaver" was fiction. It was shot on a CBS sound stage with actors---you know those folks who get paid mega-bucks to pretend to be other people.

Unlike "Beaver", America in the 1950s was not all white, all straight, and a place where "great white father", sitting at his office desk, could solve all problems within 30 minutes, before the credits rolled.

You might want to put away your D.C. comics version of American history and take a glance at the t***h about this nation.

Try reading Howard Zinn's, "A People's History of the United States."

BTW, the fictional world of "Beaver" died in the 1960s civil rights struggles and the blood soaked rice patties of southeast Asia.[/quote]

Harold Zinn
1922-2010) was a historian, playwright, and activist. He wrote the classic A People's History of the United States, "a brilliant and moving history of the American people from the point of view of those ... whose plight has been largely omitted from most histories" (Library Journal). The book, which has sold more than two million copies, has been featured on The Sopranos and Simpsons, and in the film Good Will Hunting. In 2009, History aired The People Speak, an acclaimed documentary co-directed by Zinn, based on A People's History and a companion volume, Voices of a People's History of the United States.

Zinn grew up in Brooklyn in a working-class, immigrant household. At 18 he became a shipyard worker and then flew bomber missions during World War II. These experiences helped shape his opposition to war and passion for history. After attending college under the GI Bill and earning a Ph.D. in history from Columbia, he taught at Spelman, where he became active in the civil rights movement. After being fired by Spelman for his support for student protesters, Zinn became a professor of Political Science at Boston University, were he taught until his retirement in 1988.

Zinn was the author of many books, including an autobiography, You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train, the play Marx in Soho, and Passionate Declarations. He received the Lannan Foundation Literary Award for Nonfiction and the Eugene V. Debs award for his writing and political activism.

Keep in mind that those who follow the concepts of Znn are also believers in and advocates of the writing of Noam Chomsky and
Saul D. Alinsky Some place in an article on common core I read that Zinn's history of the United States was the textbook series for today's public schools He was an activist whose other writings include The Zinn Reader: Writings on Disobedience and Democracy
From the other authors he is compared with and the description of his work I have to assume he was an anti American activist of the Marxist socialist type. From the small part of his history of the Unites States I would have to say that his anti American bias is very evident.
