The decline of American values

I am deeply saddened by the complacency we Americans display by allowing our great country to become morally bankrupt. I worry about the future of our younger generation and how we sat back and allowed it to happen. My fellow Americans it's so vital that we join together and protect the future of our youth. I truly believe the most important issue we must start with is our freedom of religion. We have sat back and allowed our president and politicians to show blatant disrespect to our creator, God. We have allowed evil to take over. Remember the days of Leave it to Beaver? Remember when family values were so important? Remember the p***e we felt each day in school while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance? How could we allow prayer to be taken out of our military? Did we worry about school shootings? NO, we did not. We allowed God to be taken out of the schools and look what has happened. I beg each and every one of you to set time aside to seriously consider these matters. It's time to take our country back and rebuild our moral structure. Our youth are constantly exposed to sex, violence, suicide, drugs and disrespect to authority. Thank you and God bless.

Yes and we are constantly told that this is the "new normal" and we have to get used to it. No we don't, the majority of Americans are not d*****ts, and we need to take a stand for decency, and morality

It all starts at the top, if we had a moral commander and Cheif we can turn this around. One could argue that todays so called entertainment industry is quite immature and disturbing at best. These writers today pen scripts that remind me of the troubled little child at elementary school who would day dream all day of destruction and mayhem, all the while trying to include as much vulgarity as possible.
It is hard for me to understand the attraction to such crappy programming and poorly written story lines. It is no longer just sex, it is zero moral value.
Yes we have turned away from our creator and the world needs him now more than ever.

Thank you for your response. This is the first time I have addressed my concerns in such a public manner and my first time posting on a forum. My goal is to organize a "Take back our true America, one of morals and values" something with that idea. Those I have shared this idea with say it's a waste of time but I am very passionate about it and will not give up.

First, welcome to the site and the Prayer Team.

Second, hopefully my thoughts on this matter will not offend you.

Parents abrogated their responsibilities. They have been so busy being their child's friend as opposed to being their parent, teacher and moral role model the government and PC crowd have taken over their role. The government and PC police could not take what was not allowed to be taken by the abrogation of the people responsible for setting the standards for their off spring.

I find it surprising that people would feel it's a waste of time. What is their solution, sit down, shut up, and let the corruption of our culture just go ahead unabated. I believe a lot of people never thought that things would sink this low, but evil NEVER sleeps, and that old saying , evil triumphs when good men do nothing is still true

Yes, it's all due to the influence of the left as it becomes the popular culture as well as the lack of discipline that forces people to mature. We have the ideology of the unproductive, crybaby malcontents molding minds, spreading its degeneracy, with subversive Marxist propaganda that turns the American story of success in to a lesson of injustice. Sick, sick, sick. The left doesn't realize how sick they are. It is because all the subversive Marxist propaganda like political correctness, social and economic justice , and environmentalism designed to appeal to their noble caring, compassionate nature making them feel arrogantly better, finer, more caring and noble about themselves while instilling hatred for conservatives and their values. The whole thing is blatantly dishonest and based on lies. Most of them know it and just don't care because they believe they are fulfilling a higher purpose. But I ask you "what good can come to be in a l*****t utopia conceived in lies ???"

*********
TMC,
"Leave It to Beaver" was fiction. It was shot on a CBS sound stage with actors---you know those folks who get paid mega-bucks to pretend to be other people.

Unlike "Beaver", America in the 1950s was not all white, all straight, and a place where "great white father", sitting at his office desk, could solve all problems within 30 minutes, before the credits rolled.

You might want to put away your D.C. comics version of American history and take a glance at the t***h about this nation.

Try reading Howard Zinn's, "A People's History of the United States."

BTW, the fictional world of "Beaver" died in the 1960s civil rights struggles and the blood soaked rice patties of southeast Asia.

Could you provide one example of the Administration's efforts to halt religious freedom...I ask.... because all the churches in my area are still in "business", so you must have a personal anecdote to support your panic attack.

I don't really remember God being in schools, we never said prayer-maybe at big ceremonies, but not every day or anything. I do remember being forced to say the pledge of allegiance. I wasn't given a choice about that. Do you think God cares about the pledge allegiance? We are taking an oath– something Jesus taught us not to do, and secondly, as we take this oath we are not swearing our loyalty to Christ but instead to an earthly kingdom. I can no longer in good conscience swear my loyalty to her– because my loyalty is solely with Christ and his Kingdom. I asked my son (he is 14) if kids pray at school. I'm impressed: they do. Before they eat lunch, some of the kids pray. That's my experience, maybe you ought to go visit you local high school, sit down, eat a sandwich and talk to the kids and get a sense of their morality, instead of assuming.

The military didn't take prayer away, you can pray anytime you want, some people don't choose it, that's it. I don't Jehovah's Witnesses, that are presenting the cultish version of God's kingdom-therefore the military has taken the same position, which is: present your version of your beliefs and suffer the consequences. In the real world, I tell they are cult and don't want them to come back. The military was tired of people who were in positions of authority forcing their beliefs. Would if your company commander was a muslim and you weren't-get it?

It is equally bad that adults are exposed to sex, violence, suicide, drugs and disrespect to authority. It is completely legal to do so...it's called freedom of speech...just like you have...the ability to complain about matters.

When has our president shown a disrespect to God? Is this the whole gay marriage thing. God didn't set up our laws, gay marriage is a legal matter. The government has not forced anyone to marry someone that isn't answerable to the law. Straight people can still get married-legally. Is there some other example you could provide, in which the administration disrespected God? I can't think of anything.

There you go, I have SERIOUSLY considered your list, now consider my questions and provide data to support your skewed view of reality.

Yes, it's all due to the influence of the left as ... (show quote)

Yeah, yeah, it's all the "lefts" fault. They told people what they wanted to hear for years and years - and screwed things up. In between a few "l*****t" Presidents, there have been some "rightist" Presidents - who told people what they wanted to hear - and screwed things up.

Since 1980, there have been 3 Republican Presidents and 2 Democratic Presidents and the Congress has been back and forth numerous times. During all this time, the "left" has wielded awesome power and simply overwhelmed the "right" - or so you would have us believe. The fact is, none of them were either "left" OR "right", they were just " me and mine", regardless of where that fell on the philosophical spectrum.

The entire country must take responsibility for the decline in our values, not just a particular segment. This propensity to place blame for failures, is EXACTLY the reason why things have degraded this far. No one wants to accept personal responsibility for THEIR part in these things, they'd prefer to blame someone else. This lack of personal accountability and reluctance to accept personal responsibility, is why we continue to decline.
