Well spoken, there are times when it's nice to engage in a friendly manner.

On hard right sites like Gunbroker and Predator Masters I have met with several people... a couple of times it was with an express purpose to send a BS inspector to ferret out my obvious BS. First of all, the guy who is running BS is never going to meet anyone who could then prove that. I'd had an infamous attack job being done on me over an Audi S8 I had that I'd said would pull an honest 188mph at redline, and said it would pull at least 1000rpm over that for somewhere around 205mph. It was a factory race car that was nothing like the S8's being sold in showrooms. It was geared so that it could pull redline on a closed circuit track straightaway, which is to say it was ludicrously quick as well.

So a guy from Oregon came to visit with a friend at Easter, we had invited him to an Easter dinner. I took him out in the S8 at almost midnight, getting onto the freeway we were doing 160 entering the freeway and the car was pulling ferociously even at 160...he said that was all he needed to see, let me drive it and we'll drive home sanely.

So the next evening at dinner he was running a gauntlet of outrageous things I'd posted by my wife to see if she called BS on any of them. Never having lied or made up a single thing I was relaxed and comfortable about what he was doing. It was really funny when she would ask what I'd said about something, and then she'd laugh and say I hadn't told the best (most outrageous) parts, and she'd proceed to fill them in.

So Doug gives the awaited for Woodguru BS report, he reports that if the short freeway run up being done at 160mph was an indicator, the Audi would easily do 188, and that as far as he could ascertain having run everything he could think of I'd ever talked about by my wife, I had not only done all of it, but had held back the really outrageous things. He said I had some of the nicest guns he'd ever seen, and definitely shoots at a competitive level, and added that we are gracious friendly people that they had a wonderful time with.

He ended his report by saying anyone calling BS on me is an i***t. I've been on a couple dozen sites over the last ten years, and have always used the name woodguru because I have nothing to hide going from one site to another where people might know me from.
