Sorry perm, the US is a democratic republic, not a democracy. Always has been.
Our founding fathers were smart enough to understand that a "democracy" always leads to destruction. In a "democracy" the minority would have no rights.
I hope that there are enough intelligent people to explain to the fools that we aren't, and never were, a democracy.
A kicking donkey is the symbol of the democrats because they are generally stubborn, violent, and stupid.
The word âdemocracyâ (greek: demos = mob kratia = rule) doesnât appear anywhere in our founding documents.
On the contrary, the US constitution -the highest law of the land - legally defines our form of government as ârepublicanâ and guarantees to all the states a ârepublicanâ form of government. That is THE definitive definition, and it is legally binding.
Anyone that says âour democracyâ is lying, strictly speaking. What they are doing is using the term colloquially as meaning somewhere you can v**e for your government representatives but since you can do that in any one party dictatorship itâs meaningless in addition to inaccurate and they should really stop doing it. Just say âour republicâ.
The framers designed our government specifically to prevent democracy which all political philosophers from Aristotle to Jefferson, Hamilton, Madison, Hancock, Washington, Adams, and Jefferson agreed was the worst of all forms of government.
They gave us a constitutionally limited federal republic with an elective monarchy.
Why arenât we a democracy? Because in a democracy the majority can violate everyone elseâs rights. So, the Bill of Rights prevents anyone including the government or a majority of the people from that. The US constitution makes democracy impossible because democracy is the worst possible form of government.
The house of representatives canât just pass wh**ever laws they want. They have to be ratified by the Senate so thereâs your first bulwark against democracy. Then they have to be signed by the elective monarch that we call a president so thereâs your second bulwark against democracy. The third bulwark against democracy is the Supreme Courtâs power to strike down any unconstitutional law (like Roe v Wade).
Even if 100% of the v**ers wanted to ban free speech it could not legally be done because that is a constitutionally guaranteed right. Our law stands above your democratic mob.
it should be clear by now that we are a constitutionally limited republic with 3 powerful bulwarks specifically designed as a check against democracy (mob rule), and designed to protect our liberties and property from the mob (democrats).
