What do you expect from people that our education system(through our state and federal government) has "Dummied Down"? I use words that were commonly taught in grade and high school on collage graduates and gets looks or derogatory remarks about using such words. Using derogatory in a sentence would drive them crazy. At least I know enough to look a word up if I don't understand it. And I am old enough now to tell someone that I don't understand it without being embarassed. I said distitute to a recent college grad and they thought it was a racial slur. I used to think Jay Leno's street walking was a joke...but now I am scared about who is out there.

She won't!
She is like that incurable staff infection that is going around. Except she is infecting congress and the citizens of our great nation.

The answer is no.
The "Victor" always gets to write the history books. It fills my heart with joy as I read the replies. You folks are reading your history, Good on everyone of you. I deal with so many people that do not have a clue. Two books I keep near me at all times, "The Age of Jackson" and "The United States Constution in perspective" both great reading the first a little slow or dry at times, the second I use constantly as a referance book for when something is said on TV the internet or conversations. TV news constantly misquotes or leaves parts out when dealing with US history.

Right on the money. When I was in the eighth grade in California it was required to pass the US Constution test (200 questions) to be able to go to high school. And US Government Class was manditory in your senior year.
As far as the First Amendment and those 34% goes. They need to read the "Bill of Rights" along with the US history to get the right perspective on what is going on. It's beautiful isn't it. The First Amendment gives them the right to say what they are saying. But we must be vigilant in defending these "Rights", to loose one is to loose them all. Then the document is nothing more than a piece of paper.
And to quote the author Craig Johnson-"Stay Calm, Have Couage, and wait for signs.

Hi Y'all.
I'm new to this site but like what I have been reading. First,I'm a Citizen of the United States, NOT an American. What you ask? Well think about it. You have South Americans-American, Central America, thats Mexico,Guatemala, Belize etc.-American, Canada, thats right North America-American. Don't let the media draw you into their games, do your own research. I don't believe in African American, Mexican American or any other hyphenated American, either you are or you're not make a choice and or go back where you came from. You want to become a US Citizen do it the right (legal) way, I welcome you. So that is me. Just an average guy trying to make my own way through with the rest of you. Good Luck.
