If a woman is married, the husband, presupposing he is the father, should be involved in a discussion on such a matter. As you say, it is a "family" matter. With no facts in front of me to backup the forthcoming statement, I will continue to say it is a female's decision as I believe a majority of a******ns are obtained by single females. As I see it coming, please, do not put forth the issue of the male involved, outside marriage, in the pregnancy. He may in a burst of some sense of responsibility say he wants the baby, will support the baby and take responsibility; however, at the end of nine months may be long gone. Another point to consider are the horrifying statistics of pregnant females murdered simply due to being pregnant and the, as I call it, "sperm donor" (a father description is clearly not applicable) decides she and the baby are too much trouble and both end of dead.
Would I be terrible upset with your position on taxpayer funded a******ns? No, and I wonder about the question as directed to me.
Is my calmness not a beautiful thing? 8-) :-o
I really was trying to stay out of this debate. Ya... (

So first of all I applaud your intent to refrain from debate by posting an opinion. Very novel concept.
My opinion of a******n alone not considering any connections to anything else - it should not be the replacement for birth control that it has become. It should be a last resort option carefully considered.
I do however see connections to many other things - religion, philosophy, science, ethics, and the one that drives the industry - economics.
