For the last ten years we have had numerous and serious causes of complaint against our non-s***e-holding confederate States with reference to the subject of African s***ery. They have endeavored to weaken our security, to disturb our domestic peace and tranquility, and persistently refused to comply with their express constitutional obligations to us in reference to that property, and by the use of their power in the Federal Government have striven to deprive us of an equal enjoyment of the common Territories of the Republic.

Mississippi:

In the momentous step which our State has taken of dissolving its connection with the government of which we so long formed a part, it is but just that we should declare the prominent reasons which have induced our course.

Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of s***ery-- the greatest material interest of the world.

S. Carolina:
The Constitution of the United States, in its fourth Article, provides as follows: "No person held to service or labor in one State, under the laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in consequence of any law or regulation therein, be discharged from such service or labor, but shall be delivered up, on claim of the party to whom such service or labor may be due."

Texas:

She was received as a commonwealth holding, maintaining and protecting the institution known as negro s***ery-- the servitude of the African to the white race within her limits-- a relation that had existed from the first settlement of her wilderness by the white race, and which her people intended should exist in all future time. Her institutions and geographical position established the strongest ties between her and other s***e-holding States of the confederacy. Those ties have been strengthened by association. But what has been the course of the government of the United States, and of the people and authorities of the non-s***e-holding States, since our connection with them?

The controlling majority of the Federal Government, under various pretences and disguises, has so administered the same as to exclude the citizens of the Southern States, unless under odious and unconstitutional restrictions, from all the immense territory owned in common by all the States on the Pacific Ocean, for the avowed purpose of acquiring sufficient power in the common government to use it as a means of destroying the institutions of Texas and her sister s***eholding States.

virginia:

The people of Virginia, in their ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America, adopted by them in Convention on the twenty-fifth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, having declared that the powers granted under the said Constitution were derived from the people of the United States, and might be resumed whensoever the same should be perverted to their injury and oppression; and the Federal Government, having perverted said powers, not only to the injury of the people of Virginia, but to the oppression of the Southern S***eholding States.

Bottomline: It was over s***ery.

I certainly hope not. She ignored me as soon as humanly possible, via the 'ignore' option, and for that I am eternally grateful. She said we were "on the dark side".

Do not dismiss hanging chads, gerrymandering, labyrinthine primaries whose rules vary from state to state, ratfucking, smear campaigns, MSM pretty much manipulating the election news for profit, that nasty little DWSchultz pushing Hillary and denying resources to Bernie. Yes both sides. If people don't think the democrats have a problem they're deluding themselves. The entire system reeks from top to bottom.

And ignorant conservatives are already setting up to blame everything and everyone except their own bankrupt party and ideologies for Clinton's win. They are going to go nuts when she wins. We ain't seen nothing yet. The way they've treated Obama the last eight years will look like a cakewalk compared to what's in store for Hillary. Not to say that she's all that squeaky clean. I am not a Hillary supporter by any stretch. She never met a war she didn't support. What has the warmongering we've done the last ten years accomplished? Nothing.

Beautifully stated. Absolutely spot on. Just my 2 cents...

I watched the recent Arizona voting and Nevada primary with anger and disbelief.
Lifelong registered Dem voters waiting in line 5 hours in Arizona, some of them in wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen tanks and colostomy bags, many with small children in tow, and told they were not registered as Dems, therefore could not vote. The individual in charge, when asked who was at fault, said, with a straight face, " The people who stood in line 5 hours."

What? I was horrified. Some of them finally left because they had to go to work, or pick up children... or use the toilet.

Why were so many polling places closed prior to the election, without notice, in Arizona?

Nevada was another level of unbelievable b.s. Then Barbara Boxer showed up and taunted the crowd?

I live in Texas, and we have our own brand of FUBAR, make no mistake, I make neither excuses nor apologies.
Ted Cruz, GW Bush, LBJ, Rick Perry...you get my meaning...

I can hardly wait. I am so sick of racism. Who knew that electing a black man would bring the cockroaches out of the woodwork? And they've got the nerve to call liberals racists. Right. I still don't quite get the logic.

I had higher expectations, and yet was not surprised. This situation has always been just under the surface, erupting into periodic feeding frenzies like the shark in Jaws. I could list them but I won't. Disgusting and painful.
There have been tiny baby steps forward, and three giant steps back during this entire administration.

Add the right wing religious pandering... If a situation isn't bad enough, add religion, the second cousin of 'fix it till it's broke'. State's rights... to justify owning slaves, keep women under control, just like it says in the bible.

I see lots of people here criticizingvthe current administration, advocating armed insurrection, etc. Do you suggest they leave?

The Oklahoma governor knew that bill was badly written and this veto is just a bit of heel-dragging to buy some time. It was poorly worded and would not hold up in court. She knew that, and realized the bigger fight will happen later when someone tries another stronger case before the SC. Before that happens, a lot of other stuff needs to happen. There is a bigger plan afoot, and this bill is not part of it.

Just my opinion. Stay tuned.

This is what a Redneck sounds like in real life. They don't mince words and don't polish their vernacular. I live in Texas, and most of my father's relatives sound just like him in conversation.

When he talks to his granny, I'll bet he tones it down.

I read this article and it occurred to me that all hyper religious people are obsessed with sex. The article really doesn't go far enough in discussing what I think is an interesting observation. Think quiver full. Think Josh Duggar. That's all they freaking talk about, their sex lives. Boring. Opinions?

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/05/22/why-islamists-are-sex-obsessed.html?via=newsletter&source=DDMorning

Just my opinion... sex is useful in controlling large groups of people. Some time in the distance past, a shaman, priest, or tribal religious person figured this out, and wouldn't it be handy in the future? Shame and linking procreation to agriculture and animal husbandry made it possible for the shaman to say, "See there, this kind of sex act results in a bountiful harvest. Didn't I predict this?"

And then, there is the punishment factor. Death to everyone who might try to enjoy sex without the proper paperwork.

We live in a different county in Texas, southwest of the one in the incident.

My husband is a LEO and he was ashamed when we saw the whole sorry mess on the news.

The officer was wrong and needed to be fired or resign.

Sadly, these 'problem children' often join a police dept in a neighboring city, or another county, and just get shuffled around like a pedophile priest in a different parish.

They all looked like females to me.

T**********es are cross dressers. T***sexuals have had, or are currently undergoing g****r reassignment, both surgical and hormonal.

I worked in a topless bar when I was in college several years ago. There were at least 3 t***s individuals, all formerly men, and no one ever knew. They were stunningly gorgeous, and made better tips than most of the cis-women.
