You gotta be kidding? How many Americans are heading for Canada or Europe for special treatment or elective surgery? Waiting times and costs are rising rapidly in countries with socialized healthcare.

Half of my relatives live in Canada and love their health care. They can't understand why the United States does not provide health care.

Universal healthcare in a country this size will ruin us. How in the world would you pay for Medicare for all? Which is what universal care would be. The Affordable Care Act is the closest thing to universal care we’ve ever had. Before it came along my out of pocket was $3000 and premium $350 a month. I believe there are ways for states to bring costs down dramatically through capitalism and large group pools. It’s complicated but what we have now doesn’t work.

I would be willing to give that a chance. What we need is a congress that does the job they were elected to do and that is represent the people not the lobbiests who can buy them.

It is still not a human right. It may be the right thing to do but you do not have a right to force me to supply your healthcare. If I was responsible for someone’s healthcare I should be able to make them eat right, exercise, basically run their life. Since I am a Christian I believe in helping the less fortunate. Not because I’m being ordered to but because it’s the right thing. My personal example Tom: my wife and I under the affordable care act rules in Florida pay $16,000 out of pocket. Premium is $1600.00/month. Why? Because I am forced to pay for others before I can use my own. Where’s my rights?

Yours is an example of why universal healthcare is necessary. It is a matter of priorities. I am certain you would live a lot better with $1600 a month that was yours to spend or save as you wish.

No, providing health care to everyone, no matter whether or not they have worked for it is not an obligation of other people, therefore you do not have the right to demand that I care for you just because you want it. that goes for providing food and clothing too. To say it is your right is to say that you have a right to make me a s***e long enough to provide to your health needs, which would include good food, clean clothing, healthful water and what ever else you believe is necessary for good health is to say that I must be your s***e for part of my life. In tribal societies, each person helps the others because the entire tribe (all 30 to 50 people in the tribe) depends on all to feed and protect each other or the tribe will perish. However, tribes tend to throw the useless members out as sacrifice to the lions, because to maintain them would weaken the tribe to the point of making them vulnurable to attacks by other tribes..It is my responsibility to care for my family and to encourage others to do the same. If I wish to assist several other people who I think are worthy f my time and sacrifice that is my business, and I do so willingly. To demand that I take care of the druggies down the block so that they can stay stoned and not have to take care of themselves is absurdity.

I and my family have very good healthcare and I don't resent my tax dollars going to treat little children and the weak and disabled. I agree that there are dregs in our society who are dispicable for the things they do. I am guilty myself of un Christian toughts toward them. As an American I want to belive that all Human Beings within our shores shall be treated with dignity.

If you pointed to impartial statistics demonstrating that Democrat policies increase poverty and harm minorities and working-class Americans of every race, they would blame someone else.

The more knowledgeable liberals recognize their high-minded goals require sacrifices — African-Americans, low-income w****s and Latinos. The less knowledgeable just regurgitate the party’s propaganda that it’s “Trump’s fault,” “George W. Bush’s fault” and the “GOP’s fault.”

But phony finger-pointing does not enjoy the v**er traction it did just a few years ago. Since President Donald Trump and the GOP passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, nixed Obama-era overregulation and drew a line in the sand with thieving China, the quality of life for low-income Americans has dramatically improved. If there’s a single reason why Democrats h**e the president, it’s because he proved without a doubt that their policies are anti-worker, anti-minority, and anti-poor.

African-American unemployment remains at the lowest in the nation’s history. Latino-Americans are the fastest growing home-buying demographic, wages are rising, and America has more available jobs than people to fill them. Hard to imagine, but a billionaire reality TV star with lavish hotels and resorts is the first president to do right by the lowest income Americans.

Facts are a problem for Democrats running in 2020. Democrats are hoping Creepy Joe Biden can infuse the left with the same enthusiasm as their standard bearer, Obama. But facts about their eight debilitating years may be a problem. When compared to President Trump’s record-setting economic positives, Obama managed to set a record of his own — the worst poverty in more than 50 years.

During the Obama Administration, the poverty rate stood at 15 percent or higher for three straight years. Approximately 50 million Americans suffered below the poverty line and Obama’s policies did zero to curb their long-term pain. Instead of addressing the foundations of economic development and job creation, Obama pushed dependence on the government over self-sufficiency.

“(Obama’s efforts) are basically to give more people more free stuff,” Heritage Foundation poverty specialist Robert Rector said. “That’s exactly the opposite of what (Pres.) Johnson said. Johnson’s goal was to make people prosperous and self-sufficient.”

Along with handing out free cell phones and trinkets, the Obama Administration attacked the minimum wage as a symbolic, although flawed, way of making low-income Americans believe something was being done. Today, the facts are that cities who have increased the minimum wage to $15 without a viable economic foundation saw people lose jobs and earn less. Businesses must be profitable enough to support increased wages.

The U.S. Census Bureau reported from 2009 to 2011, at least 31.6 percent of Americans fell below the poverty line for two or more months. And although the Obama Administration touted 12.6 million people getting their finances above the poverty line, 13.5 fell below it. Keep in mind that while Obama spoke about helping poor Americans out one side of his mouth, he inflicted harsh and expensive regulations on businesses.

Like the current class of Democrats, Biden included, their policies are anti-business — making them anti-worker. For example, the Green New Deal would upend the economy while adding $92 trillion in national debt. Of course, Democrats already knew this because not a single one of them v**ed for the policy when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell brought it to a v**e.

In terms of overall Democrat policies, Forbes published an analytic assessment in 2014 that highlighted how left-leaning initiatives negatively impact low-income Americans. C*****e c****e policies consistently place the highest burden on working Americans. Democrats still target industries such as oil to level high taxes. Those costs are passed along to consumers at the pump and cause heating oil to rise. For people struggling to support a family, these Democrat policies are particularly costly. Such policies have not shifted in any positive fashion during the last five years.

Although perhaps well-intentioned, policies to stem the tide of pollution have cost Americans millions of good-paying jobs. Democrats target the manufacturing sector in the U.S. who are then forced to make products inexpensively in China. After sending our good-paying manufacturing jobs to other countries, Obama and Democrats touted growth in the low-paying service sector. Working Americans got poorer.

During the early days of Democrats campaigning in the p**********l primary, Americans hear consistent messaging about attacking big businesses, saving the world from c*****e c****e, and opening the borders for South American immigrants to flow in freely. All those things hurt lower-income Americans.

Even in primitive societies health care is given to the people of the tribe. Can you look a suffering child in the face and say your pain is not my problem? Are broken bones meant to be un mended and open wounds meant to fester? There is all kinds of pain in this world and nobody rich or poor is immune. If we give no mercy to the indigent do we deserve mercy ourselves? Is it moral to be cruel and turn away the stricken with no money? Is money more important that human beings? Are there lesser children of God? I want to know.

Sometimes I get beautiful stories sent to me, this is one of my all time favorites, and I'd like to share it with you...

"I am a doctor working at a little clinic. At about 8:15 am on a Tuesday morning, an old man in his 80's walked into my clinic to remove some stitches he received a few days before.

It was a very busy morning, and I asked him to please sit and wait. He told me he was in a rush, as he had a very important engagement at 9am he couldn't miss. As he sat there, I couldn't help noticing that he kept checking his watch. I decided to treat him since the doctor in charge was extremely busy, and I knew it would take at least an hour until he could see him.

I took off his bandages and saw that the wound was healing nicely. While I was gently pulling out the stitches, I asked him where he was off to that was more important than taking out stitches. Was it also with a doctor?

"No," said the old man, "not a doctor. I am going to have breakfast with my wife, who is in the hospital."
"Why was she hospitalized, if I may ask?"
"She's been there for a few years now," he answered. "she has Alzheimer's and needs constant care."
As I finished taking out the stitches, I asked the man if his wife would be worried if he were late to their breakfast.
"No," he said quietly, "and she never will. She hasn't recognized me in over five years."

I was astounded by this and just had to ask: "And you go to her every morning although she doesn't know who you are?"
The man smiled, put his hand on mine and said: "She may not know who I am, but I know who she is, and I remember for both of us."
