As far as America being threatened, I assume you mean by Russia. Hell yes we are threatened by Russia and China. It's a difficult argument as to which one is the biggest threat, although at the moment Russia is certainly the more urgent threat.

I am a big fan of the lessons of WW2. Those lessons are timeless. I will throw in the Cold War for good measure. The players change and the technology changes, but the basics never change.

Evil is evil. The West did little or nothing in the 1930s when Haile Selassie begged for help as Mussolini did to Ethiopia as Putin is doing to Ukraine. The West did little or nothing to help China in the 1930s as Imperial Japan did the same thing to China. The West allowed Hitler to take Austria and Czechoslovakia.

The West paid dearly for it's cowardice later on. This time the West knows what is coming if it once again does nothing.

A historical overview of NATO expansion up to the Ukraine/Russia war. Who is at fault?

Putin ultimately gave the order to attack Ukraine. But he felt it was NATO who pushed him up against a wall and they were crossing a final red line.

In my opinion, NATO should have been disbanded a long time ago and Europe should have engaged Russia in peaceful commerce. But NATO with the push of America would never relent in its constant expansion on a former enemy, that should have been a peaceful partner.

I think this video shows that all to much. And the final countries left in Europe were being lined up for entry into NATO. I've said it before. what would you do if you were Putin and loved your country and seeing it slowly being surrounded by a former enemy now joined by your former friends.

If NATO succeeds in surrounding Russia, are we to see the equivalent of the DMZ all along Russia's western border, from the tip of Finland to the tip of Turkey. Missiles and cannons and mine fields along the whole way.

You can make a friend by treating an old adversary like a friend, or you can keep him an enemy by treating him like an enemy and slandering him at every opportunity, when peace was at hand. Gorbachev, Yeltsin, Reagan made peace possible. Clinton, Bush, obama, Trump and now biden made war inevitable.

I think (again, going by memory of what I've read) both Israel and Palestine were part of the Ottoman Empire at one point, and became part of the same tract of land by the Mediterranean after WW1 as a British territory. Ukraine is an established European country that was part of the old USSR.
My understanding is also that Israel has offered Palestinians to be part of Israel with citizenship in Israel to put an end to fighting over territory and allowing all the same rights. People that consider themselves Palestinian have refused, largely (again my understanding) because they are majority Muslim and have a hatred of Jews. So would not want to live in a Jewish state or judicial system.

Are you saying that this was all about grabbing more farmland for Russia ? It had better be. All or most of the cities Vlad has attacked are piles of rubble. It appears that the Russian Army is far inferior to their Ukrainian cousins when is comes to close in fighting. All they can do is lob long range bombs and missiles at the Ukrainians. They are having to bring in mercenaries. The Ukrainians have even recaptured a few strong points. How the hell does that happen ?
