Written by Ashley Edwardson on June 20, 2015

Thanks to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) we now know that 121 convicted criminals, in ICE custody, who had been ordered deported but were instead released back into U.S. communities, went on to murder Americans.

In case that wasn’t clear enough, let me just restate: all 121 of these criminals — in the custody of ICE — were given get out of jail free cards, and after being released, murdered American citizens.

Clearly we can no longer count on the government of the people, by the people, and for the people, to actually look out for the safety of those same people. If it took months of digging and prying to get just this small amount of information out of the government, imagine what else is still lurking.

And if that doesn’t make you want to consider availing yourself of your Second Amendment right, what does?

Well, keep your guns locked and loaded and if you can keep a good supply of ammo on hand also. When we have to deal with the Muslims that the UN & Obama are importing from Syria you will need all you can get. By the way this is being done in secrete in the dead of night. Most people never heard of Ms Geller before this event. Now she has face time on numerous TV shows as well as articles about herself in the New York Times and many other papers. Way to go Pamela. You only endangered the lives of the people of Garland but hey your self promotion payed off.

This event was not about freedom of speech. This was simply about international attention for a narcissist. She played to the anger many feel toward what they perceive as special rights for the Islamic people. I am sure the security guard who was wounded was happy to assist Ms Geller in becoming famous.

Many of the people in my circle feel the city of Garland was stupid to grant the permit. However, if they had not granted the permit, the ACLU or some other organization would have sued them. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I read a great deal about the police departments in this country. How do you think the Garland Police felt when this event was announced? I am sure they were not happy. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

What in the world are the elite up to?

In recent days, we have learned that the New York Fed is moving a lot of operations to Chicago because of concerns about what a “natural disaster” could do, the federal government is buying 62 million rounds of ammunition commonly used in AR-15 semi-automatic rifles for “training” purposes, and NORAD is moving back into Cheyenne Mountain because it is “EMP-hardened”.

In addition, government authorities have scheduled a whole host of unusual “training exercises” all over the nation. So are the elite doing all of this in order to prepare for something really BIG, or should we just chalk up all of this strange activity to rampant government paranoia?

First, let’s talk about what the New York Fed has been doing.

What kind of natural disaster would be bad enough to completely shut down the operations of the New York Federal Reserve Bank?

It would have to be something very unusual, and apparently the New York Fed is very concerned that such an event could happen.

According to Reuters, the New York Fed has been t***sferring personnel to Chicago and building up its satellite office there just in case a “natural disaster” makes it impossible for normal operations to continue in New York…

The New York branch of the U.S. Federal Reserve, wary that a natural disaster or other eventuality could shut down its market operations as it approaches an interest rate hike, has added staff and bulked up its satellite office in Chicago.

Some market technicians have t***sferred from New York and others were hired at the office housed in the Chicago Fed, according to several people familiar with the build-out that began about two years ago, after Hurricane Sandy struck Manhattan.

Officials believe the Chicago staffers can now handle all of the market operations that are done daily out of the New York Fed, which is the U.S. central bank’s main conduit to Wall Street.
This seems very odd.

In all of U.S. history, there has never been a natural disaster in New York City that would have been bad enough to totally shut down the operations of the New York Fed for an extended period of time.

So why are they so concerned?

Well, I can think of one event that could cause such a disruption…

An east coast tsunami.

This is something that I wrote about in this article. But other than that, it is hard to imagine a natural disaster which could shut down the New York Fed for an extended period of time.

Another very odd thing that we learned about this week is an absolutely massive purchase by the government of ammunition that is commonly used in AR-15 semi-automatic rifles. The following comes from an article by Paul Joseph Watson…

The Department of Homeland Security is set to purchase over 62 million rounds of ammo typically used in AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, just weeks after the ATF was forced to back down on a ban on M855 bullets.

A posting on FedBizOpps.gov this week reveals that the DHS is looking to contract with a company to provide 12.6 million rounds of .223 Remington ammunition per year for a period of five years – totaling 62.5 million bullets.

The solicitation explains that the purchase is intended, “to achieve price savings over the current .223 Rem duty ammunition.” The bullets will be used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents nationwide for “training” purposes.
Why in the world would U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents nationwide need such a massive amount of ammunition for “training” purposes?

That seems very odd.

Something else that seems very strange is the fact that NORAD is moving back into Cheyenne mountain after all these years…

It shut down nearly ten years ago as the threat from Russia seemed to subside, but this week the Pentagon announced that Cheyenne Mountain will once again be home to the most advanced tracking and communications equipment in the United States military.

The shift to the Cheyenne Mountain base in Colorado is designed to safeguard the command’s sensitive sensors and servers from a potential electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, military officers said.

The Pentagon last week announced a $700 million contract with Raytheon Corporation to oversee the work for North American Aerospace Command (NORAD) and US Northern Command.

Admiral William Gortney, head of NORAD and Northern Command, said that ‘because of the very nature of the way that Cheyenne Mountain’s built, it’s EMP-hardened.’
So the U.S. military is concerned about an EMP attack all of a sudden?

Have they been reading The Economic Collapse Blog?

Spending 700 million dollars to move back inside a mountain just because it is “EMP-hardened” is a pretty big deal.

Do they know something that we don’t?

On top of everything else, we have been seeing lots of strange “training exercises” being scheduled all over the nation recently.

For example, the following is from a news story about one being held in Iowa…

This week you may notice extra emergency vehicles and public safety officers running around in tactical gear, Hazmat suits, and bomb suits. It’s a part of a statewide drill Des Moines is hosting Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare emergency personnel for dealing with weapons of mass destruction.

Brian O’Keefe with the Des Moines Fire Department said emergency officials in Iowa need to be prepared for anything.

“You know we’re number one seed producer with corn and soy, chicken embryo development, middle of the country heartland. So I’m sure all states access it. But we’re a target like any other large community,” said O’Keefe.
And here is an excerpt form a news story about an exercise known as “Northern Exposure” that is being held in Michigan…

The National Guard event is called Northern Exposure, which is taking place across Michigan during the month of June, he said. According to the Michigan National Guard website, Northern Exposure is “a major exercise in Michigan where the military provides defense support to civilian authorities.”
In addition, the U.S. military will be conducting some “unusual” training activity out in Arizona and California…

If you see some unusual helicopters overhead in the next couple of days, there’s nothing to worry about.

The I Marine Expeditionary Force G-7 will be conducting a Realistic Military Training this week, using the Prescott Municipal Airfield as a helicopter refueling point in order to facilitate a Long Range Raid at Camp Navajo, Arizona.

This Certification Exercise (CERTEX) is directed to be conducted from April 8-21, 2015 at various training locations throughout California and Arizona. The training at Prescott will take place on April 15, 16.
All of this is in addition to the exercise that people have really been buzzing about. It is called “Jade Helm”, and in this particular “unconventional warfare exercise”, the states of Texas and Utah will be designated as “hostile territory”…

“Jade Helm is a challenging eight-week joint military and Interagency (IA) Unconventional Warfare (UW) exercise conducted throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado,” according to an unclassified military document announcing the training drill, which runs from July 15 through September 15.

Multiple branches of the US military, including Green Berets, Navy Seals, and the 82nd Airborne Division, will participate in the 8-week long exercise, which may result in “increased aircraft in the area at night.”

Troops will be tasked with honing advanced sk**ls in “large areas of undeveloped land with low population densities,” and will work alongside “civilians to gain their trust and an understanding of the issues.”

The exercise, in which some participants will be “wearing civilian clothes and driving civilian vehicles,” lists Texas and Utah as “hostile” territory.
Should we be alarmed by these exercises?

Some people sure think so.

Another thing that has people scratching their heads are the weird closures of Wal-Mart stores all over the nation for supposed “plumbing problems”…

Not just one, but five Walmart stores across the U.S. are closing their doors due to plumbing problems that, in some cases, will take four to six months to repair.

Those closing include locations in Livingston and Midland, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and near Los Angeles.

For the Brandon Walmart, I talked to Hillsborough County and Walmart to get answers about why these plumbing repairs will take so long and whether the issues are connected, but local customers are already skeptical.

“Why is it just plumbing problems? It’s gonna take them six months to fix up the store?” asked customer John Mambrl.
Yes, is it really going to take them six months to fix the toilets?

Either someone at Wal-Mart is extremely incompetent, or there is something fishy going on here.

In the end, perhaps there is nothing to any of this.

Perhaps all of these examples are just unrelated coincidences.

But then again, perhaps not.

Let me update your post a little. There has been a lot of posting on the net for well over a year about DHS hoarding ammo for small military arms that amounts to the low number of 1.7 BILLION to the high of over two billion rounds for training. That amount was ordered and was what caused the ammo shortage we have had for over a year. Of course once the word got out a heck of a lot of people bought every thing that was in the stores.

Home folk tell Rep. McMorris Rodgers: Don’t mess with Obamacare

Posted on March 26, 2015 | By Joel Connelly

She was asking for horror stories about health care, but Rep. Cathy Morris Rodgers, R-Wash., instead found her Facebook page filled with testimonials to the benefits of the Affordable Care Act.

A member of the House Republican leadership, McMorris Rodgers wanted a replenishment of anecdotes, such as the stories of questionable accuracy she told when giving the GOP response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech.

Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, R-Wash., is lead sponsor of scaled-back version of the Violence Against Women Act. She is a member of the House Republican leadership.
Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., is a member of the House Republican leadership under House Speaker John Boehner (right).

“This week marks the fifth anniversary of Obamacare being signed into law,” wrote McMorris Rodgers.

“Whether it’s turning your tax filing into a nightmare, you’re facing skyrocketing premiums, or your employer had reduced your work hours, I want to hear about it. Please share your story with me so I can better understand the challenge you’re facing.”

A lot of folks shared stories. They were of a kind CMR didn’t want to hear — and is largely insulated from hearing on trips home to by-invitation “Coffees with Cathy” in her Eastern Washington district.

What did she hear? A sampling from McMorris Rodgers’ Facebook page:

– “I work for Cancer Care Northwest. We actually have more patients with insurance and fewer having to choose treatment over bankruptcy. Cathy, I’m a diehard conservative and I’m asking you to just stop slamming Obamacare.”

– “My daughter is fighting for her life with Stage 3 breast cancer. We are about to enter a second go-round of diagnostic procedures and possibly more treatment after two full years of treatment. So yah, the Affordable Care Act is more than helping. I resent that our rep thinks the only problems involve her personal story.”

– “Obamacare saved us when my husband was unemployed and we couldn’t afford coverage. We might have been ruined without it. My husband could not have had eye surgery needed after an accident.”
House Speaker John Boehner and Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers blast President Obama at Tuesday press conference, on eve of deep cuts in federal programs.
House Speaker John Boehner, Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, and other Republican leaders have tried for four years to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

– “Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, my cousin was able to get affordable insurance despite her preexisting condition. So grateful.”

– “And now my granddaughter, diagnosed with MS at age 22, can have insurance. What do you plan to do with her?”

– “My story is that I once knew seven people who couldn’t get health insurance. Now they all have it, thanks to the ACA and President Obama, and their plans are as good as the one my employer provides — and they pay less for them. Now, that’s not the kind of story you want to hear.”

– “I work as a facilitator of a task force that is overseeing the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Washington state. I have learned that the ACA is helping people who did not previously have health insurance to get it. It is helping bring down costs. It is improving the quality of care.”

The sun will rise in the west before McMorris Rodgers includes any of these personal stories in her boilerplate rhetoric denouncing the Affordable Care Act.

Press releases from McMorris Rodgers’ office speak — uniformly — about how each of her actions help the people of Eastern Washington.

Yet, the congresswoman represents a district with higher-than-national average unemployment, a greater percentage of people receiving food stamps and income levels lower than the national average.

She v**es and argues the party line, however, and has what pundits describe as a “safe” seat. She is considered a comer in Congress.

On Thursday, however, there was a rare show of defiance from those Eastern Washington constituents.

Alaska’s all-Republican delegation to Congress is accusing President Barack Obama of attacking the economic health of their state by recommending that 12 million acres of land be designated as wilderness area, a move that would make the land off-limits for energy development.

The Department of the Interior and the White House on Sunday announced its proposal to protect a huge chunk of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, an area about as big as South Carolina that sits in the northeastern region of the state. The administration said only a portion of ANWR is protected, and that officially designating 12.28 million more acres would help protect it for future generations.

But Republicans, who have said it’s possible to drill for oil in ANWR in an environmentally sound way, said the move would be a crushing blow to the state’s economy. They also said it was announced without any significant consultation with Alaska’s representatives.

“What’s coming is a stunning attack on our sovereignty and our ability to develop a strong economy that allows us, our children and our grandchildren to thrive,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R). “It’s clear this administration does not care about us, and sees us as nothing but a territory. The promises made to us at statehood, and since then, mean absolutely nothing to them.”

“I cannot understand why this administration is willing to negotiate with Iran, but not Alaska,” she added.

Newly elected Sen. Dan Sullivan (R) agreed. “This outrageous action confirms what most Alaskans have feared – that the Obama administration’s war against Alaska families and the middle class would only intensify under the final two years of President Obama’s tenure,” he said.

“This callously planned and politically motivated attack on Alaska by the Obama administration is akin to spitting in our faces and telling us it’s raining outside,” said Rep. Don Young (R). “As if on command from the most extreme environmentalist elements, this president and his team of D.C. bureaucrats believe they alone know what’s best for Alaska, but this brazen assault on our state and our people will do the complete opposite.”

Only Congress can designate wilderness area, but the Obama administration’s decision will offer some immediate protection for the land, and will may force Congress to act on the decision. Given the current makeup of Congress, Obama’s request for a formal designation is likely to go unheeded, and may even prompt legislation aimed at reversing the decision.

In the meantime, Republicans said the Department of the Interior will immediately start managing 1.5 million acres of the coastal plain as wilderness, and said this would stop motorized access to the plain.

“Designation as wilderness would protect and preserve the refuge, ensuring the land and water would remain unimpaired for use and enjoyment by future generations,” the department said Sunday. “Only Congress has the authority to designate wilderness areas and wild and scenic rivers.”

John Podesta, a counselor to Obama, said that while Republicans have “clamored” to drill for oil in the coastal plain, that move “could irreparably damage this ecological treasure.”

Gov. Bill Walker (I) reacted to the decision by saying it would likely force the state to step up efforts to explore for energy resources on land that’s still left under the state’s jurisdiction. Walker said his state’s finances would benefit from more oil production, and said Obama’s announcement is a “major setback toward reaching that goal.”

“Therefore, I will consider accelerating the options available to us to increase oil exploration and production on state-owned lands,” he said.
