The thing which gets little notice is the ICE Agents DO NOT want this immigration bill. One would think, oxymoron there, the elected Congress people would have some interest in hearing ideas from the people paid to deal with such matters. Alas, there are not sufficient ICE Agents to swing an e******n, hence no need to hear them.
:hunf:

Why would that bunch (The Congress) consult with ICE about an Immigration Bill when they didn't consult with the medical or health insurance professionals when they wrote the 2800 page Obamacare?

Amazing how they missed the simple solution of your post

Politicians are politicians and if they repealed the 16th amendment (Income Tax) they would not have power to reward and punish us poor souls.

This is awesome! The Republicans proposing a healthcare "reform" which would raise taxes and increase regulation. This is NOT a conservative proposal. A conservative proposal would reduce taxes and regulation, increase access and portability and benefit the American people. Not simply be Pookiecare light.

A true conservarive proposal would allow us to purchase health insurance as we buy personsl property insurance.

If that is your standard, then everything that person did in their life should be scrutinized. For example, before raonnie ray-gun was a 'conservative', he was a democrat and union president. That should make him the subject of scorn and ridicule by the likes of fat limburg. Instead, raygun is the cultural and political icon of the low intellect rightwingers.
Jane apologized, but the h**ers still h**e. Can you say double standard?

From FrontPage Mag, Nov 12, 2012 "Now, four decades removed, sitting in the lap of luxury, Fonda has decided that the pictures on the anti-aircraft gun were a mistake. Not the actual visit – she stands by that. “I did not, have not, and will not say that going to North Vietnam was a mistake,” she said. “I have apologized only for some of the things that I did there, but I am proud that I went.”

But when it comes to those gun photos, then she wishes she’d done something different: “Sitting on that gun in North Vietnam. I’ll go to my grave with that one.” Of course, as John Nolte of Big Hollywood points out, that’s “a step up from what we learned in Patricia Bosworth’s biography, ‘Jane Fonda,’ where the star reportedly said: ‘My biggest regret is I never got to f*** Che Guevara.”
BoJester may call that an apology, but I call it more of her treasonous crap. I would be happy to see the 9 wheels of either side of an 18 wheeler run over her head.

I just read the following a few hours ago. It has always been my contention that CO2 is a nutrient - why are we trying to reduce its presence in the atmosphere.

CARBON DIOXIDE SOURCES: by Dr. Ian Rutherford Plimer

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?
Professor Ian Plimer could not have said it better!
If you've read his book you will agree, this is a good summary.

PLIMER: "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland . Since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you.

Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress - it's that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life. I know....it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs.....well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time - EVERY DAY.

I don't really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.

Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over One year - think about it.

Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect c*****e c****e. And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.

Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus 'human-caused' c*****e-c****e scenario. Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention 'G****l W*****g' anymore, but just 'C*****e C****e'- you know why? It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these g****l w*****g bull artists got caught with their pants down.

And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer. It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure.

But, hey, relax......give the world a hug and have a nice day!"

BoJester wrote: "No, the flat tax is a terrible idea. It sounds good to those who are confused with the current tax code, but the simplicity of the flat tax will never work. Why? business will never give up buines deductions for taxes, hiring, inveting, depreciation, etc. The business lobby and the tax prep lobby will never allow their politicians to v**e for a flat tax. So at the very least, there would have to be a two tiered tax system, which will not end fraud and abouse."
The best choice would be VAT or some consumption tax, but that is also problematic with rebates for low income, etc.

I agree that the Flat Tax is not a good idea because, as
I understand, it would allow a very limited number of deductions. It would not take long for the 535 to begin to use it as they do the present tax code; as a means of reward and punishment.
I so not favor a VAT because the Euro countries that have VATs have continually raised them. And look at the mess most of them are in.
So they only answer is the Fair Tax.

They get hold of a name and SSN along with other info and file a fraudulent return showing a large refund and have the refund sent to the crook. When the person actually entitled to the refund files, he is notified that the return has already been received, processed, and the refund made. The legitimate tax payer is then apprentlt SOL.

The government forces people to pay income tax in advance through withholding or estimated tax payments. That should make the government responsible and accountable for safeguarding the money they forced the citizen to pay. But apparently the government employees assume no responsibility for the money they have forced taxpaters to pay.

As far as I know, the legitimate taxpayer whose refund is sent to a crook, he is probably never going to get his money back."

Another good reason to implement The Fair Tax when the Gang of 535 do the "comprehensive tax reform." thing.

Dear Mr. Putin, You once made a speech about "In Russia live Russians." Please send a copy to our i***t Senate.

banjojack

Please observe what President Roosevelt.

Former President Theodore Roosevelt-not a r****t-gave a speech in 1917 in which he said: "It is our boast that we admit the immigrant to full fellowship and e******y with the native-born. In return we demand that he shall share our undivided allegiance to the one f**g which floats over all of us" and told the Kansas City Star in 1918: "English should be the only language taught or used in the public schools."

He then wrote to the President of the American Defense Society on January 3, 1919: "In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact e******y with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one f**g, the American f**g, and this excludes the red f**g, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign f**g of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Theodore Roosevelt
