And what % of those rejections are due to overstaying their visas previously or for a high likelihood of overstaying their visas on this trip and thus becoming i*****l i*******ts?

Interesting.... the article addressed tourist visas. Not work visas or applications for citizenship; but for visitation.

Undocumented persons in the USA....now are you saying that these people who applied for visas are in this country illegally. Of interest, I will not say there are no Jews in the US who should have gone home and overstayed their welcome....hell, to most people that includes all of us.

But, sure some may be here uninvited by the government. Some sources say 2 percent while others say 5 percent, come from the middle east are undocumented trespassers on US soil. This does not say exactly how many of these are from Israel, and the middle east is a big place. If you do the research, you will find that 4 percent of the Canadians in the US are undocumented. http://www.urban.org/publications/1000587.html

A quick nod would show respect, as most presidents have done in the past. A bow, that is bending from the waist to a position lower than the shoulders of another individual shows subservience to the other individual. In Japan, equals bow their heads to each other whereas their employees are expected to bow from the waist to a lower point than the shoulders of their employer. In Egypt, men often kiss one another in a form of greeting. It does not denote subjugation to another but friendship. How do I know. Well I have been there and learned the customs. I have tried to research to find out if any other president has bowed lowly to another country, and have come up empty handed.

Interesting that you would expound upon this point, as it is off the subject of the original post. Was it simply another effort to exonerate the actions of a Muslim president and his willingness to concede America equal standing to other countries? Or was it a simply reaction and effort to smear a past president?

The significance of bowing varies from culture to culture for instance in Japan it is seen as a common courtesy you will actually see people bow when talking on the phone like you would see someone here nodding their head here. People trained and experienced in international business or diplomacy are taught that it is good to acknowledge a few basic phrases or gestures common to other cultures when visiting or entertaining. When George W. Bush kissed the King and a Prince in Saudi Arabia rather than shaking hands it was showing friendship and respect, it is obviously unlikely to be taken the same way in a Saloon in Crawford Texas. Only a fool would see it as a romantic gesture, as only a fool would believe President Obama was worshiping rather than greeting a foreign leader.

Yes he was, but coming in close behind him is Obama.

No, I would not bow to him. I would not bow to anyone other than God. Sadly, I agree with the last poster; I believe that most Americans would bow to him simply because Obama has been allowed to almost completely destroyed the backbone of America. Even down to what is being taught to our children has been rewritten. Now that he plans to reduce our military to levels lower than pre WWII levels, it would not be hard for his Muslim brothers to walk in and take over. The next step is crowing himself emperor or king. Bowing would then be the normal. Did he not bow to the Muslim nation a few years back? We complain, we write about it; but when the sh*t hits the fan, most would be kissing his feet.

So, someone made an interesting comment that Christians would only bow to their Lord and Savior. Is this true? As a Christian, if a law was passed stating you had to bow in the presence of Obama (or any president for that matter) on the penalty of death, would you?

I want to believe I would stand and pay the price, but of course unless that day comes I probably won't actually find out.

True, many of us have become jaded. I too find it hard to "trust" the people I meet on line. I keep putting myself out there, and conversations will continue and all of a sudden there is a complete shift. At times it is like talking with Mr. Jeckel and Mr Hyde. All we can do is be ourselves, ensure we do due diligence in research, and present the facts as we see them. Our facts may not fit with other's ideas of t***h..... but, is that not the condition of human nature? We think we are communicating and on the same page, just to learn that the other person has not understood a single words we say. Like marriage..... LOL

Oh you never know,, some people are not as eloquent, but are very very concerned,,, one of the major problems is trusting others. That is something that so many people have been burned on, that they really dont want to try anymore.

What can be learned from our political mess, is simply if you dont govern yourself,, ie through religion, through morals, through decency, education, or even sex, someone will fill the void and govern you.

Art,

I have the same difficulty. People post things that sound so harsh. I then respond with a clam down things could be worse for them to say....I was making a joke or it was sarcasm. Without the benefit of an emotioncon or a LOL... something to give a hint to the emotion, how the heck are we supposed to know. Anyway, I was not trying to be critical of anyone, just inviting the post creator back into the conversation.

I think I may have been someone who has done something like that before. I think I have some legit reasons for doing so, but it is not my intent to be rude.

I think it takes some experience to keep up when the "Fur starts flying". Some Liberal or Conservative posters are really good at putting in some good jabs. As a relatively new person here, I find it hard to know when someone is angry or just being sarcastic, as not everyone uses the emoticons and I'm not always sure I understand some of them :?:

Anyway, this place has become pretty addictive and I am challenged to balance this virtual hobby with real life.

The most amusing things, as I see them, is when an individual starts a post and then stands back to watch the fur fly. In every discussion I have ever had, it takes participation from everyone and that includes the person that brings the subject up for discussion.

I am a new parent (again) and to be honest, I would not allow my daughter to start a post and not participate. Which is my gentle way of saying, come back and support your post or join in the conversation. I for one would really enjoy reading your input or reactions.

there are times in some topics and threads that seem like it is two gangs talking.
I feel like some one is going to pull out a gun and start waiving it around. you guys refer to each other in a funny way, like you are on different sides of a DMZ from each other, behind a bunker with a wire-can phone, wittingly insulting one another. borders seem to have been established, who's on what side.
all the centrists tend to get stuck in the middle, and get shot at from either side when they express a distinctly leaning opinion.
please do not take offense to this, but it is quite funny the way I imagine it.
I wish to have some conversations, and some topics posted to actually try to DISCUSS the issues that plague us, but this place at times can seem like,"oh you don't agree with my position on this issue? well your mother is ugly!"
I know I am quite naive when it comes to that but hey, at least I can still maintain a mind fresh to all views (sort of,,,,kinda,,,,maybe.)

No offense to you Cold Iron, but to paraphrase a response used here (normally to those who don't like something Obama has done) "That's the way it is... deal with it!" The second amendment guaranties us the right to bear arms. It doesn't discuss hunting guns, and it is meant to allow the average citizen to defend his home (even against the government as listed in the third amendment). The problem isn't with the guns, but with the way they are handled. We don't teach our children about them young enough, we don't secure them well enough to keep them out of criminals' hands, and we don't always remember that they are dangerous and therefore treat them as such. Just my never to be humble opinion. And, sorry for the crappy phrase at the start of this rant, but just wondered how the left would feel if they had to listen to that crap constantly. I'm sure Hitler would also have said something like "that's the way it is" once he started k*****g off the jews. Or, is there a faction of those who don't believe that happened, here?

That's all that I have for right now
