There's nothing wrong with tough love. It's just too bad that we can't apply some to the dorks in DC. You know, no campaigning while in session, no recesses when there are bills on the floor and no playing until the work is done.

DC is more of an illusion than Hollywood. Even a good person becomes bamboozled when they get there. Once infected, there's no cure, so like you do with cattle, get rid of all of them all at once and start over.

BTW, I noticed that the rich posters, out of all that I said, only reacted to the "tax the rich" comments. That pretty much made my point about the rich not being concerned about jobs for the masses. I would tax them at 40%, delete ALL deductions, including contributions to political campaigns, either directly or indirectly.

"Doing public service" is out. States that have state employee unions would never allow such. It would prove the excessive pay they (state union employees) receive for minimal work. Such idea was proposed by a small New Jersey town quite sometime ago. The hue and outcry was heard far and yon. It was even likened to "s***ery". Excuse me..."s***ery"? They were receiving money and being asked to simply help keep public parks and streets clean. In fact, they would only have been required to work fifteen hours per week.

First off I did not grow up here second Coos Bay only got rid of the KKK 20 years ago. I grew up in a highly volital racisist area. Klamath County Oregon. The r****m there is White and Indan and Mexican dominated. B****s number about 200 mostly church going very nice people. He, along with others on this forum, equate liberalism to socialism to c*******m, to Marxism to N**ism. Totally hopeless to try and speak sensibly with such a person.

The liberal idea started in Europe. It was the party of the new middle class. That means business owners. The conservative movement was to become the political movement of the landed aristocracy and the socialists were the party of labor. Times have changed, but as this demonstrates, liberals do not have roots in socialism. Socialism is a radical or revolutionary movement. It seeks to change the world in very fundamental ways. Socialist doctrine calls for the means of production to be in the hands of the government intrust for the working class. Depending on the type of socialism, it may seek power by violent o*******w of the government.
Liberalism wants none of these goals. It seeks to reform society through democratic means. The Liberal movement seeks to make life better for ordinary people. Issues like providing health benefits, old age income, a higher minimum wage, and civil rights have and are liberal issues. The Liberal movement has different goals, different methods, different roots and different interests than socialism. If you think they are similar, you really ought to go back to high school government class.

FOM, r****m is taught from parent to child. Plain and simple. I too have worked hard to raise my children to be color blind and equal minded, however though people like us are not the norm as of yet. If you look into the conservative circles you will see many black people who have followed along with thier Northern grand parents ideals and are true conservatives. Not all black people are liberal democrats, but this is what the media and the talking heads would have us all beleive.
Spending much of life around USAF men and woman I can attest to that fact.
