How did a six year old get a hold of a loaded gun? I doubt he bought it a Walmart. The parents should have been required to take a gun safety course. Also parent's should held responsible for all of the teacher's medical bills and loss of salary. She has only been released from the hospital recently.
Had you bothered to do any due diligence you would have found several articles where the mother stated her gun was kept in compliance with gun safety storage protocols. As most 6 year olds can program a remote control and other technology items, it is not beyond their capability to overcome such safety measures.
6-year-old boy who shot his teacher previously said he wanted to light her on fire and watch her die, report says.
The boy wrote a note to Zwerner which said that he hated her and wanted to light her on fire and watch her die. When she reported the note to Richneck administrators, Zwerner was told to drop the matter.
On one occasion, the boy threw furniture and other items around in class, which led to the other children hiding under their desks, per the account.
The boy's family said that he had "an acute disability".
Zwerner had requested help to deal with the young student "two hours prior" as well as "all year".
Superintendent Parker said that hours before the boy shot the teacher, a school administrator was told the child may have brought a gun to school. He said that workers at the school searched the boy's backpack but did not find the 9mm semi-automatic pistol legally-owned by his mother.

No "gun safety storage protocols" permit leaving a loaded firearm accessible to any unsupervised 6 year old,
let alone a disturbed one. That is purely B.S. low life attempt to evade responsibility.

All I see is she said the gun was secured. A six year old with serious behavioral problems is unlikely to be technically savvy. Why did they not accompany him to school on this particular day when that was their routine? Lots of questions that need answers.

Sounds simple to me. The gun wasn’t secured. If it had been the child could not have gotten it. Bad parenting - period

All of the above. Especially the School Superintendent for not removing the child from the school and refusing to recognize the danger that the child represented with his previous note and past violent actions in the classroom. The child needs psychiatric counselling or could be a product of his parents' racist teachings.
