Yes, I fear that if things don't straighten out in 50 years we'll have no one to ring the bell, because the generations who largely got a decent public education will be gone, and those that are left will be thoroughly programmed, and wonder why life is so hard

EXCELLENT post!! And all very true - but still a little scary. Why? Because there are enough people still alive who got a decent public education. What happens in 50 years? This awakening is (hopefully,) saving our country and future generations in more ways than many realize.
Restoring our education system to what it was prior to Zinn and the leftists turning it into another
Komsomol should be a Trump Administration priority.

What about The Declaration on Independence that mentions Nature's God, a Creator, Divine Providence and that the signers pledge their sacred honor to achieve independence? Should the teaching of such the document be permitted? And for whichever you advocate, explain.

Unfreedom of the PressAlmost 3,000 reader reviews, 95% of which are 5 stars.
From five-time #1 New York Times bestselling author, FOX News star, and radio host Mark R. Levin comes a groundbreaking and enlightening book that shows how the great tradition of the American free press has degenerated into a standardless profession that has squandered the faith and trust of the American public, not through actions of government officials, but through its own abandonment of reportorial integrity and objective journalism.
Unfreedom of the Press is not just another book about the press. Levin shows how those entrusted with news reporting today are destroying freedom of the press from within: “not government oppression or suppression,” he writes, but self-censorship, group-think, bias by omission, and passing off opinion, propaganda, pseudo-events, and outright lies as news.
With the depth of historical background for which his books are renowned, Levin takes the reader on a journey through the early American patriot press, which proudly promoted the principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, followed by the early decades of the Republic during which newspapers around the young country were open and transparent about their fierce allegiance to one political party or the other.
It was only at the start of the Progressive Era and the twentieth century that the supposed “objectivity of the press” first surfaced, leaving us where we are today: with a partisan party-press overwhelmingly aligned with a political ideology but hypocritically engaged in a massive untruth as to its real nature. url=

So is Levin's argument is that news organizations should be open about their bias, not objective regardless of bias??? Neither you nor Mr. Levin seems to understand that you can be objective and have a bias, do you? Being transparent with your bias only means that the news you are reporting can't be trusted to be true.
That fits with the likes of Fox News because they pander to only one ideology--an ideology that doesn't want the truth, only to be told what they want to hear, but that doesn't fit with people who want to think for themselves and need the real truth in order to do so.
That's the "freedom" Levin is talking about is the freedom for people like him to spew propaganda to people like you. Most people don't want news that is pure propaganda though Blade. Most people want news that tells them the truth, not simply 'truth' that they want to hear.

Trying hard with my older grandchildren. Backyard biology, got a microscope & slides, teaching them about different trees & seeds, how to make mulch & how that works. Trying to teach them some American history & the story of the Republic ! The others are too young yet. I'll do what I can.

I think that's a must, but it's an uphill battle !!!

The only hole in any one of your analogies is that America and the American political system thrived for over two centuries, whereas that which you advocate and depict as "normal" only invaded our shores a few short decades ago, the total antithesis of our form of government, and rather than confront the American people with its true goals, it chooses to devour our nation from within like a cancer, stealth agenda by stealth agenda.
Because statesmen have largely been supplanted by career politicians, the very ones who should be more definitive when it comes to dealing with the left wing takeover of the Democratic Party pussyfoot around it -- any one of our founders, confronted by the same situation, would have called it what it is: an enemy invasion from within.

It's CNN and MSNBC that pander to one ideology - collectivism of any kind. Joe Scarborough and Don Lemon are ideologues of the basest. It's been revealed that Zucker has demanded that type of reportage.
You are a piece of work, PeterS. That's as far as I will take my statements.
