Not a good choice of words. Men are the head of the house but that doesn't mean a woman is a doormat. Unless one believes in the Trinity, see that all three are one and still Christ did the will of the Father then its more difficult to grasp. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the church (believers). That doesn't relegate women to the back seat or mean they have no say in anything

For a relationship between husband and wife, subservient is not the right word.
To be subservient means willing to do what other people want, or considering your wishes as less important than those of other people or yours.

In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
My experience with my Catholic husband was this. The more I honored and respected him, he even gave and rendered the most humble, respect, and loved me, more than himself.
I believe this is true to most relationships of husbands and wives, if only they love, respect, and honor each other. No insubordination.
Problem with the present age now is women or men compete with each other, who is more important, or who is stronger than the other. Most of the modern women now demand to be at the top, regardless of the harm they cause to others, or men lacks love and respect. Relationship does not stay long like that.
E.g. That women have all the right to abort or kill their babies, because it is their body. Then PP sell their baby's body parts.
These are Godless people. Most of them belong to the Democrat party, the Liberals, Socialists, and Progressives.
They call it healthcare. The worst part is they demand that taxpayers pay for their baby killings.
