Vernon has a llloooooonnnnggggggg history of disrespecting anyone who dares disagree with him. Below are a sampling of 16 of Vernon's replies/comments from the first 50 pages of the over 834 pages of Vernon's postings. For someone who claims he doesn't show disrespect, anyone who can read can see how Vernon feels about Democrats, liberals and African-Americans. He believes that the government is out to take his guns away (I wonder how many of his guns have actually been confiscated), is in the business of the premeditated confiscation of private property, and thinks the states are sovereign over the Federal government. That's a LOT of complaining without one iota of fact even one offering of a viable plan toward gaining a working consensus on how to rectify the situation.

Vernon is simply another scared, old, white guy that has allowed himself to come to the conclusion that the government is out to get him and that blacks are a lesser form of human being. He thinks that the states are sovereign over the federal government. That idea was challenged and settled back in 1861-1865. Plus, he only listens to those who share his opinions. Any one who disagrees faces his wrath and his insults. Then, he acts like he doesn't understand what he said that caused the other to call him on it. "What did I say," he coyly asks? Like he doesn't know.

Vernon misses "the good 'ol days" when he felt he was a part of the ruling majority and that for a minority to advance in society was morally wrong. I hate to break it to Vern, but, "the times, they are a-changing." If you can't bend with the wind, it'll break you. From what Vernon posts, the verbiage he uses, he's been cracking for quite a while, now. Should a Democrat win the White House, I'm afraid Vern will snap. If the Dems were to capture one or both houses of Congress, too, it's frightening to think what he could do.

Again, the following are only a sampling (16) from the 1st 50 pages of the over 834 pages of Vernon's postings. After reading them, if you don't think Vernon is a foul-mouthed, ignorant, lying, racist, anti-government, conspiracy theorist, then, there's no hope for you, either.

There's an old saying that says that goes, "Before you judge someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes." Maybe you should try it, sometime. It just might give you a change of perspective. Have you ever had to use the left-over school books and gym equipment from the white schools because the school board wouldn't authorize enough money for your school to get the newest and best books and equipment? Were you taught by black teachers who were paid only ¾ of the salary that their white counterparts were paid? How many black kids did you hang out with in school? Did you ever visit their homes and meet their families? Did you ever invite blacks into your home?

How many white doctors refused to treat you because of a difference in skin color? How many times did you refuse a blood transfusion from a black person just because you thought taking their blood would turn you black?

How many neighborhoods did you refuse to move into just because your neighbors would be of a different skin color? If you own any up-scale rental property, how ready are you to rent to a minority family?

I'm not wallowing in anything, Vern. You're the one complaining about how much the government picks on you and how you're treated so unfairly. Poor, poor, pitiful you. Why don't you cry us a river?

Compared to how the African-Americans (not to mention the Native Americans whose mistreatment goes back a bit further) have been treated over the past 60 years (as you note), you don't have any reason to complain. Compared to them, your treatment has been a paradise.

How would you like to grow-up in a white-owned slum, where the landlord accepts your money but refuses to make necessary repairs to maintain even the bare necessities; like plumbing, HVAC, electrical wiring, and broken windows? How long would you put up with it before you got mad? Move somewhere else you might say. Any where else and especially better will cost more than you make at the 2-3 minimum-wage jobs you and/or your spouse are already working at.

But, that's not your worry, is it? It's just something more for you to complain about when the government steps in and tries to help those who white society looks down on. Imagine if the government only taxed the property owner for maintaining his property. Instead of taxing the slum lord for not keeping his property up, the government taxes everyone so that everyone gets to share in the burden. If you have a beef, take it up with the rich slum lord. His inactions make you pay for helping out his tenants via the government.

Your idea of being treated fairly is, at best, being "separate but equal." Unfortunately, in reality, while it's been separate, it's never been equal. That being the case, then you're not really in favor of fair treatment unless you get the lion's share and can dole out the crumbs to the rest; in equal shares, of course. You wouldn't want to appear greedy, would you?

However, the black community rising up because of all of that past stuff is just silly. We don't live in those times anymore, and white people who weren't even born yet bear no responsibility for any of it.

If we didn't live in those times anymore, then there wouldn't be any need for the events to occur, would they? Trouble is, too many people refuse to open there eyes and see that the times really haven't changed that much for minorities. What you pass off as "silly," is everyday life for those who live in those conditions.

What I find "silly" is that Vernon, and now you, still haven't addressed the root causes of the issues; the economic, the social and the racism that still pervades in the US, in your responses to me. Just because you haven't seen what I mentioned, your ignorance of the situations, whether intentional or not, doesn't deny that what I mentioned doesn't exist. It is a very real reality for the minorities. To them, it is the white guy that is responsible for their plight. Their perception is their reality.

If you'd like to verify my comments, why don't you go and visit a predominately African-American church next Sunday. Attend a Sunday School class. Talk to the attendees what their perception(s) are about their socio-economic station in life. After the service, invite some of them to go to lunch with you and discuss their thoughts and feelings about how they're treated in terms of jobs and fair treatment.

I have no chip on my shoulder, Archie. I just don't like it when someone who has no real reason to complain, picks on a group of people and blames them for their supposed indesgressions toward him. That would be Vernon.

I have been to an all black church, and was well received. I won't go into details, but it was a good experience.
Every friend we have who is other than white, or American agrees that lack of core family values, and government is the root cause of most of the problems we have now.

I'll be honest with you sir, when I say that blaming the 14 year old white kid for problems in the black community gets a bit tiresome, I'm not being dramatic at all. It gets old.
