I'm using windows 7, 64 bit, and I keep losing my network when I restart my PC. I have to uninstall my network adapter and reinstall it to get online. Anyone got a clue as to what's going on?

You might contact your provider and have them check your modem. You can also call the 800 number for the Geek Squad for assistance. They have helped me, no charge, on multiple occasions. I think they, the one with whom I spoke, are in Ohio.

I have also use Fast PC Solutions several times with excellent results. They take control of your computer and do marvelous things to it. However, there is a charge. I think it was in the $125/$150 range, but is good for 12 months regardless if it is a different problem each time.

Go to ( Device Manager ) and look for ( network Adapters ). Open it, look for ( Wi-Fi ). rightclick, click on properties. It will tell you if it's working or not. Wh**ever it says good or bad follow the below.

Search the internet for info and possibly help from forum's for win 7. It sounds like it might be the network adapter.
Search these terms.
( windows 7 network adapter problems )
You will get tons of link's to cruise. Stay off the commercial sites except forums for win 7. If you need to reload it wait a little and make sure you have the instructions in hand on paper in case to need to revert back to the original.
That process has worked for me real well since my memory is so shot. I've needed to revert to originals many times and without instructions it can become a tale chasing event extraordinaire.
Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I think I've decided to just restore everything to factory conditions, since I'm also being plagued with the BSOD, and even I don't know what all is on this thing anymore.

It's been sluggish, slow to start and just plain cranky. If nothing else, it will let me know if I have any hardware problems.

Thank God my local Starbucks has an awesome internet connection. I'll have over 100 GB of stuff to download again. Can you say 20 MB/sec download speeds? It will only take a few hours, instead of days.

The modem is fine. The fact that I have to reinstall my network adapter indicates that it's a software issue, right?

From the posts he has and his response to others, hacking your computer is more likely his solution.

You may have a v***s(s). Cleaning your PC of hidden malware can be a huge undertaking. That you have to continually have to do a sweep of your software to get things to work, tells me it might be malware. Some types, require a trip to the Geek Squad, or someone similar. Best wishes.

With an avatar acronym of Bend Over, Here It Comes Again, I doubt you get along with anybody, on OPP or out there in the world. That's a pretty hostile face you present to us, with that name. Just a thought.

One very likely problem is that your adapter or computer drivers need updating, your network adapter sound like it's simply incompatible either with your OS or your motherboard.

I don't have that kind of money to spend. I've had this computer for three years now, And I'm not sure I could replace it any time soon. I think my best bet is to just start over. A clean sweep. It's actually the BEST solution. Call it a digital enema. I h**e doing it, because of the hassle of downloading countless gigabytes of data again, but in the long run, it's the best solution.

I have the latest drivers from the OEM. And my name is in jest. You'd know that if you removed that stick from your butt.   Speaking of hostile avatars, look at your own. Just saying. Cheers.

You might want to invest in Malware software. It will clean your computer of all v***s' and other things that are inhibiting its functionability. I have several problems with mine at present that can only be resolved by someone with hardware experience i.e. my cooling fan is inoperable and I need a new battery, according to my computer notice.

I'm pretty certain I'm v***s free. I use advanced system care ultimate, Malware bytes, spy bot, I even use House call at the Trend Micro website. Besides, I want to experience that new computer thrill again. You know, like, when you tell your computer to do something and it does it right away, without complaining? It's probably a good idea to do a factory reset every few years anyway.

Stick up my butt? Sure glad that wasn't hostile of you. Were you saying that in jest?

I'm hostile to Islam, not everyone generally, unlike yourself.

You're welcome for the help, penis breath.

Gee. You insult me, then offer some advice about drivers, like I'm some noob, then you insult me again. And you are hostile to me simply because of my faith in God. I am NOT hostile to everyone. Don't know why you would think that. Probably because I defend my faith against countless attacks everyday. I can see how a militant atheists would see it as hostile. Are you part of that new atheist movement, by any chance?

I've no knowledge of your faith in anything and care less. You insulted me so I insulted you back. If you can't take the heat, child, get out of the kitchen.

As for the advice about drivers, you're the one who proclaimed yourself to be a noob wanting advice. You started this thread asking for computer help, and I offered some, knowing it was against my better judgement to do so because you're such a hostile person.

I do admire the way you used this as an excuse to proclaim your (self) righteousness to us all on OPP, though. Kind of like Rahm Emmanual never letting a good crisis go to waste?
