I get it...the state is your god. Duly noted.

You're as confused as the rest of them... My side, along with the 1973 Roe v Wade decision, says the state should stay out of it. It's YOUR side that keeps trying to empower the state to make decisions about a woman's body. Whether it's the state legislature writing anti-a******n laws or the courts deciding that the state CAN interfere.

I'm guessing its the fact that you folks think with your emotions so you can never quite make the logical connection.

So that "thing" that's growing in a woman's belly doesn't exist until it's born?

Ah, but you said that a******n is not murder because all murder means is k*****g someone without permission from the government and as long as a person has permission to k**l something it's "OK."

I believe that God does NOT give us permission to murder babies in the womb.

And that's where we're different. You get your permissions from your god -- the state -- and I get my permissions from mine.

I highly doubt THAT'S going to work out for you.

Just decided to fast forward... I'm reading the headlines from your list and realizing that you just aren't getting it...

There are two things that need to happen to call something genocide. First, there has to be a concerted effort by a single party to k**l a large number of targeted people. In the case of a******n, that doesn't exist. What you have instead is a large number of women with unwanted pregnancies and they make the effort as individuals to terminate their own pregnancies. There is no master mind overseeing these a******ns as a genocide.

Secondly, the victims have to be people and this is the part you folks never get. In the the case of most regulated a******ns performed by qualified doctors the a******n happens before the embryo becomes a person. ALL of your arguments are predicated on the idea that a******ns are k*****g people and I am saying that as far as I am concerned, embryos are not people yet.

This is the fundamental disconnect between us that invalidates all the arguments either of of us have from each other's perspective. Convince me that an embryo in the first trimester is a person and you won't even need any of your other arguments, until then there's no point.

what would you call those little guys who were kicking, stretching, turning and heart beating in my womb if not "People"?

That statement has no basis. Medicine is based on biology and nowhere in biology will you find the definition of a person. And to suggest psychology has anything to do with it is absurd. Psychology is a guessing game based on interviews with patients. Show me a fetus having an interview with a psychologist and I'll stop laughing.

Whether an embryo is a person or not is left up to our conflicting views. Religious views depend on assumptions made in scripture... For the Christians, a person is created at conception. The Jews believe what Kevyn said, to them it's the first draw of breath, which doesn't happen until birth. For scientifically-minded people like myself and maybe Kevyn too, we see pregnancy like any other type of biological t***sform where it takes some time to go from a divided cell to a person.

None of us have absolute claim on the t***h as much as each of us thinks we do.

This is one place you all should quit using Republicans/Democrats. I am a woman, family and friends who are women and none of us have decided this issue based on our politics.

I'm sure you are.

Only a fraction of a******ns are done for medical reasons. 99% are just termination of unwanted pregnancies. Yall should just go ahead ad admit that it is k*****g, murder or not.

We ALL know.

There was never any v**e on the issue of a******n. Only court decisions. But, I agree the most recent decision favors the depravity of a government that invades a woman's privacy and subjects her body to stupid religious laws that make no concessions for reality. This is one of many reasons why I believe the most amoral force in the world is the church.

No, the depravity is k*****g innocent life purely for convenience. There is no ‘right’ to k**l in the Constitution

This is outside of rape and incest which make up only a tiny fraction of reasons for a******n.

Yesterday, the very conservative people of Kansas v**ed against their Republican leaders on the a******n issue indicating that common-sense Republicans still exist. They're just not as loud and unruly as the more extreme fanatical side of the party and their leaders need to keep that in mind.

“The v**ers in Kansas have spoken loud and clear: We will not tolerate extreme bans on a******n,” said Rachel Sweet, the campaign manager for Kansans for Constitutional Freedom, which led the effort to defeat the amendment.

I have to say it was a relief to see this, because like their Republican leaders, I too was starting to wonder if ALL the conservatives have become as fanatic as the Taliban with their aggressive push to stomp on women's rights and the freedom for families and their doctors to make their own common sense decisions.

So a big thanks to the people of Kansas who have given me hope that common-sense still exists, even on the right.

But where are the r**ts ? I bet Pro Life advocates in Kansas are even now protesting in front of Judges homes, and howling at the Moon over this setback. Wait, they aren't. Never mind.

Where did I ever say that?

The SCOTUS decision simply placed the issue of whether or not to allow a******ns where it belongs, with the states, as per the Tenth Amendment, rather than with some Federal "one size fits all (poorly)."

And I'm sure you feel exactly the same way about after kids are born, too. After all, once murder of an innocent is made acceptable, then it's just a matter of definition, right? NO ONE can reasonably argue that a six month old baby is 'viable'. Without a guardian and provider, it can not survive. That will be the next step from the left. They will decide post birth a******n is sometimes 'common sense' and should be decided by the mother and her doctor. It will start out in cases where the little darling is deemed 'defective' and is just 'too much' for Mommy dearest to handle. Then it will quickly proceed to 'my circumstances changed' or 'I lost my job' or 'I thought he would marry me' or 'the baby is screwing up my weekend plans'.....a doctor, for a 'reasonable' fee, of course, will be found who will recommend that, for the mother's 'health', the baby needs a post birth a******n. And the American Holocaust will expand and grow until you are, at long last, happy and satisfied.

Agreed. I think some of the anti-choice folks here are just struggling with the fact that THEY are the one's depending on the government to overrule the will of the people, which is precisely what the recent Supreme Court decision did.

This issue could have been codified into law, and the regressives tried, except the law they wanted allowed a******ns up to delivery. No sensible person wants that.

Try to find middle ground...a******n up to 15 weeks, after that only for medical emergencies.

Both sides seem to be taking things to the extreme. If the regressives keep pushing for a******n until birth, then a******ns will probably become illegal.
