I learned in a history class in the 1960s that the e*****rs were not compelled to v**e with their states popular v**e; however, I was unaware that that e*****rs v**e could be discarded. If an e*****r pulled this off and turned an e******n no doubt that e*****rs name would be leaked and he might suddenly disappear never to be heard from again.

I would think that it could also possibly increase the chances of an e******n being bought & paid for.

But for the huge populations of California and New York, I could almost agree that the e*******l college be eliminated.

I wonder if the populations of those states like Colorado got to actually v**e on the change in how they handle their p**********l v**es?

Arguing the effects of California's & New York's e*******l v****g power is weak.

2017's top ten states, by population, in the U.S.A.: According to the 2016 e******n results, as one can see, the Dems certainly did not dominate the urban states and thus, their e*******l v**es.

1. California 39,536,653...Democrats
2. Texas 28,304,596...GOP
3. Florida 20,984,400...GOP
4. New York 19,849,399...Democrats
5. Pennsylvania 12,805,537...GOP
6. Illinois 12,802,023...Democrats
7. Ohio 11,658,609...GOP
8. Georgia 10,429,379...GOP
9. North Carolina 10,273,419...GOP
10. Michigan 9,936,211...GOP

A federal appeals court ruled late Tuesday that p**********l e*****rs who cast the actual b****ts for president and vice president are free to v**e as they wish and cannot be required to follow the results of the popular v**e in their states.

The decision could give a single e*****r the power to decide the outcome of a p**********l e******n — if the popular v**e results in an apparent E*******l College tie.

"This issue could be a ticking time bomb in our divided politics. It's not hard to imagine how a single faithless e*****r, v****g differently than his or her state did, could swing a close p**********l e******n," said Mark Murray, NBC News senior political editor.

They never really were nor did follow what their states wanted or Hillary would have been president. The Supreme Court will figure it out. I wonder when courts started pulling this s**t, they aren't more powerful than the president yet have blocked him many times. Done the same with you and I.

Hmm. Are you sure you want a huge population of a bankrupt state who defies the Federal gov by protecting i*****l i*******ts getting to have such a huge say in a p**********l e******n?

Hmm. Did you somehow miss that seven of the top ten urban states v**ed GOP last e******n

Did you also miss that New York is only #4, with Texas & Florida (both GOP) at #'s 2 & 3

Those seven GOP states equal about 100 million v**es, three Democrat states about 70 million v**es.

Also, California is not bankrupt, but it is insolvent. California’s liabilities vastly exceed its assets. A State cannot declare bankruptcy but that may change someday.

By doing this, Trump has now pretty much made "individual v****g" a fluke. So much for "one person, one v**e." sad.

Trump becoming president VIA e*****rial college is not the first time in this country's history a president elect lost the popular v**e,but got in through the e*****rial college.I think kennedy won by the e*****rial college.

The P**********l e******n of 1960 was one of the closest in American history. John F. Kennedy actually won the popular v**e by a slim margin of approximately 100,000 v**es. Richard Nixon won more individual states than Kennedy, but it was Kennedy who prevailed by winning key states with many e*******l v**es.

In US history, U.S. Presidents Who Won Without the Popular V**e were Rutherford B. Hayes(1876), Benjamin Harrison(1888), George W. Bush(2000), and Donald Trump(2016). They all managed to attain the highest office in the land despite losing the popular v**e.

I stand corrected . What happened was Nixon won more states, but Kennedy won both the popular v**e and the e*******l.

I did not miss that, but I did note the huge population of California.

Also, e*******l v**es are allocated among the states based on the Census; the current number of e*******l v**es determined by the 2010 census. I find it interesting that the left doesn't want the question about citizenship on the next census. They say it would discourage non-citizens from participating in the census.

See where I'm going with this? The left wants the i******s counted to help get more e*******l v**es, and it would be based upon i******s.

You seemed to have conveniently missed where I was going with the point of my last two posts to you.

He also won the popular v**e.....all presidents "get in" through the EC -which makes me question "so why v**e?"

That was the purpose of the e*******l college, to act as a foil to bad choices. But you apparently believe that a state's e*******l should all go to the popular v**e and disregard the population that didn't v**e for them? Let the e*******l be split according to popular v**e, the GOP is dead because they are controlling states with minority GOP v**ers. Democracy is about majority rule, not minority.

IMHO: Democracy is about MOB rule. I'm not picking on you Woody, just giving you my thoughts.

The MOB being composed of mostly socialists, C*******ts, freeloaders, welfare frauds, i*****l a***ns (migrants, not immigrants), lackadaisical fools, big city dwellers, junkies, and anyone else who v**es for a living rather than works for a living. These people are so far still the minority, not the majority, but the "Silent Majority" is going to have to speak up, get off their dead asses and on their dying feet, or they will end up as the "Silent Minority" like the Jews after the Holocaust. The Christians should remember that turning the other cheek to a Progressive/Democrat extremist will just get the other side of their butt kicked by the uncivilized bastard! Stand your ground!

This country has been bankrupted by all the unconstitutional socialist/progressive/democrat entitlement (give away) programs that the masses are absolutely NOT entitled to nor deserving of, and living on borrowed foreign money; so socialists better hope the money printing presses don't fail and put us all in a soup line that will only hold up as long as the food suppliers of the middle west "flyover country" are able to continue production of food. The country simply cannot pay off our National Debt by continually borrowing money every year just to pay the interest on the loan, and then adding enough more money for next years budget, plus just a little more for Congress to party on, to the principal of the loan! Sure, it appears to work well, at least until the lender(s) decide to foreclose on the deadbeat country, and they take the country as collateral for the loan. Where will we go, and who would take us in as refugees? Most other countries who are our "friends" are only our "friends" as long as we keep giving them money, which we have to borrow to do!!! A damned stupid way to run a country, but that's what happens when you let democracy sneak into a Republic!!! President Trump didn't cause these problems, but I hope he can get us back on track; and getting back on track may be painful at times due to some of the sacrifices we have to make to accomplish the mission. We have our birth rate under control, but our population growth due to illegal migration is totally out of control, and if we can't get it stopped, we are doomed to failure, which is the stated goal of the Progressive/Deep State.

One of the first things y'all will notice right off the bat is that food t***sportation will fail due to your "thoughtful" decisions to ban f****l f**l, and the farmers/ranchers can't truck their food to your supermarket shelves, and you don't have gas enough for your car to drive out to "fly over country" to get it yourselves. Trains won't move much either. Then farmers will run out of fuel for their farming equipment, and won't be able to produce but for their local area. Milk, toast, bacon, and eggs will be local area as well. Ever seen how angry a customer in a restaurant can get when he can't get food service for breakfast or even coffee? That'll be a hoot! It won't make much difference whether your a minority or a majority, either!

What scares big city folks who think food just magically appears on their supermarket shelves more than anything else is about standing outside in the middle west farming/ranching country, looking up, and not being able to see what they are breathing! I live here in the middle west, and this is Gods country out here, so quit trying to screw it up! Hell, one can even stand on one's porch and take a piss without hitting your neighbors house! Of course, if you have an extra super-strong stream, and did manage to hit his house, you might get shot for your trouble since we do have guns and we do know how to use these tools. Sometimes we have to shoot a coyote to protect our livestock, so these tools are a necessary item. Ever been in a "pasture pattie" throwing contest? I didn't think so. It's a lot of fun, but don't do it on a damp day. We do have indoor plumbing, so we don't have to step in human excrement like they do in San Francisco, the democrat controlled city out West on the coast. That must really be something to be proud of!

That's why I'm glad I'm old, the cancer of the cities is moving in on me, and that scares me. The E*******l College is about the only thing left between civilization in the USA and socialist colonial mob rule after the USA fails. Either learn to respect and support the USA or prepare to live in the filth, famine, and violence like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Chicago, and New York City are just BEGINNING to see. I don't want to live like that.

Fortunately, we ain't dead yet in spite of the Progressives/C*******ts and their Deep State obstructionism and i***tology, so Go President Trump! Keep the USA Sovereign and Great! Illigitimi non carborundum!
