This is the prayer from 8/18/15

Reason is a basis or cause, as for some belief, action, fact, event; normal or sound powers of mind. Reason is a part of our intelligence, a gift from God. How we use any gift depends upon the receiver, and their motives, and whether or not they do believe it is a gift. When it appears the world is spinning out of control, maybe it is time to leave 'normal or sound powers of the mind' behind, and lift yourself to a higher level of comprehension, a more altruistic view of what's good for others, our military men have done that in every war.

Do you ever question the reason why you were born, what makes you who you are, or what is my purpose in life? Many of us will never fully realize our purpose, and each day as we move closer to the end we wonder what have we accomplished? I believe we have purpose, and with every contact we make we leave an impression. Hopefully, somewhere along the way that impression may have encouraged someone to be more than what they thought they could be. Maybe, words you said, stuck in someone's head to lead them to Jesus.

Jesus is the Way, the T***h the Life, the Light unto our feet to lead us to the Father. He waits patiently for us to stumble through the maze this world lays out before us, all the distractions and glittering lights that can appear so attractive. Children are easily distracted, and sadly lead astray, but by His blood we can be forgiven. Make no mistake, there is penalty for sin, what it will be, and how it will be administered, is up to the Father. Think about all your sins being read in public for everyone to hear. We do not know Your mind, dear Father, we simply walk in faith with hope in our Savior.

We pray for mercy and forgiveness in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

This is the prayer from 8/20/15

Today's prayer is based on three Bible verses. Believe me when I say, it is time to be in the Bible.

Today, we certainly are seeing the Bible unfold before our eyes - let's start with Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." We are suppose to have religious freedom. Not now, not if you discriminate against something the Bible tells you is wrong. Rather, the law now dictates that you must accept it, and not speak out against it or be subject to h**e speech. How have we let this happen?

This Bible verse may offer a clue: 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Only the old, slower lions roar, they roar to paralyze their prey. When frozen in fear, for only moments, the lion is given an advantage. Has that roar paralyzed us, and allowed us to be devoured by that wily foe the devil? Is it too late to become vigilant and fight back? Possibly, we should have taken a stand when they took Bibles out of school.

What lies ahead, what have we got to look forward to? My answer is the same as Joshua's. Joshua 24:15 "....... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Lessons directly from the Bible, lessons for today, the Old Testament to the New and back, Words that have not changed. When you know His Word, He knows you. What comfort that brings, late is better than never. We ask, dear Lord, that You strengthen our resolve, stand with us should we be put to the final test. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost we pray. Amen.

This prayer is from 8/21/15

Have you ever walked barefoot along a sandy beach, sinking your toes into the sand and feeling the waves wash in and back out over your ankles? That's freedom! Freedom and relaxation away from the rush and clamor of everyday life. As a child, when playing hide-n-seek, did you ever run down the tall rows of corn to find a hiding place? The seeker finds it's pretty easy to spy you when the rows are so clean, and open. Then in the evening, when you sit out on the porch, did you listen to the soft sounds of the growing corn? Music to a farmer's ears. Freedom!

In the fall, have you ever watched a skein of geese flying south? That's when they are high, ever so high. Often you are alerted to them before you can see them because you hear their honking, honking to encourage the leader. You can sense the excitement in their tones. This same excitement is there when they head north in the spring. We're free, we're heading to open water and corn fields. Yes, they are free! Wolves run in packs, Cougars are solitary h****rs. Somewhat surprising is the fact Cougars are not great distance runners or swift sprinters, but have a long striding lope that is counter balanced by their tail. Freedom!

Beautiful, enjoyable scenes that we appreciate because we know freedom. We cherish our freedom, our space. What would you do if all of a sudden government troops came to your home to 'relocate you' in some high rise with hundreds of other families? No longer would you have freedom or your space. That has happened in other countries. For the fiscal year 2016 the debt is estimated to be $18.6 trillion, at $20 trillion the economy will collapse. Start to research what happens then. Be in your Bible, and be in prayer. Prayer can stop the setting of the sun, read Joshua 10:12-13. Freedom is worth your time in prayer.

Lord, we know You have been with this nation in its ups and downs. Only because of Your presence did the American people have the resilience to come up to speed to win World War I and II, and make it through the great depression. Has this generation lost that resilience? I don't think so, but as a country we have allowed Your Word to be stricken, and denigrated. Wake us up, have us bend our knees and bow our heads pleading for Your mercy and presence in our lives. When King Hezekiah prayed, asking God to forgive him, God gave him 13 more years, Isaiah 38:5. You want to keep your freedom, be in prayer!

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 8/23/15

When I went out this morning, at an early hour, the sky was lit up by the stars. I could see the bright stars easily, but the lesser ones, were quite dim, and a few only a faint glimmer. Part of it may be my eyesight, but part is the contamination of particles in the sky that hides many of the lesser stars. As a Child, my mom and I would lay on a blanket in the back yard and look at a sky so full of stars, it looked like they were crowding each other. God still sees them, knows them by name, just as He knows us by name.

When we were young, did we shine brightly like the stars, with hopes for our future? A few of us may have looked ahead, but mostly we lived for that day. When we grew up, it was the future that held our attention, what to wear to work, what to fix for dinner, what bills have to be paid, what do the children need? The day gets lost in our thoughts of having to think ahead, and plan for the future. We take the children to church on Sunday, but actually give little thought to God during the week, our busy lives come first.

Finally, the children grow up and leave home, we can retire from work, we can relax and look back on our lives, our achievements and our failures. Now we take more time to think about God, and wonder if He smiled when we succeeded and frowned when we failed. We feel like we have become one of the lesser stars, not seen by many anymore. God still sees us, He knows us by name, we are important to Him, and now we take the time to make Him important to us. Sad how it took us so long to put Him first.

Forgive us, Lord, for being tardy, for overlooking how important You have consistently been in our lives. You were always in our hearts, and now we KNOW we were always in Your care. Thank You Lord, we praise You, honor You, and give You all glory. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 8/25/15

We read the news, or watch it on TV, and get that sinking feeling that everything is going down the tubes. Probably it is, but that does not give you a pass to give up. We are to fight to the end, to be about our Lord's business. Live for today, and live to be the best person you can be. Look around you, and find someone to bless with words or an act of kindness. Be in your Bible and on your knees in prayer. He still has an 'open line' for our communication, in fact, He gladly opens the door for us to enter in.

You have this day to appreciate, appreciate His goodness and glory. Look around you, see the flowers, the trees, and the hills. Be positive and look for the beauty that abounds. If your eyes have begun to fail, then pull out your 'memory book' of all the fabulous visions you have witnessed. Don't hold the beauty of the past captive in the treasure trove of your mind, share those memories. It's the good memories that gives the next generation visions of what once was and could be again, it gives them hope.

Hope in a better future, hope in His return. He will wipe away every tear, good health, and strong bodies will be ours forever. Our knowledge is so constrained by the limits of our experience that we are unable to grasp the glory that lies ahead. But, we are here today, be positive, be joyful, be mindful that daily life goes on. Give Him thanks for our realization of His majesty and glory. Our Lord will return and once again rule over the day. Hallelujah! We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 8/27/15

September is just around the corner, and the days are growing short. Like the song says, "... the days grow short when you reach September, when the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame." Some leaves are beginning to turn, and a harvest moon is waxing brightly, in the southeastern sky. Evening creeps across the landscape, and we notice it brings with it a slight chill. What a wonderful time to enjoy an evening stroll, and listen to the sounds of day fading away as the night sounds approach.

There is so much to appreciate about the world God has laid before us, so much to take in and enjoy. To have the opportunity to just travel across this great nation and see the thrilling sights each state has to offer. We can cover everything from ocean to ocean, lakes and rivers, prairie, deserts, and mountains. Once a rugged, untamed land, now settled, mechanized and progressing forward. We have been blessed, yet we wonder if maybe it would be a greater blessing to be able to slow the hands of time.

The Lord's time for us moves forward, be grateful and enjoy the beauty of this day. Be thankful for all the many blessings He has showered upon us. He knows each of us, and we know the peace that comes with His presence in our lives. This day, dear Lord, we ask that You keep us ever grounded in Your true Word. We ask that as our Shepherd, You enhance our discernment to be aware of the evil wiles of this world. Keep our footsteps on the path that leads to You, to the shining glory of heaven.

We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, thanking You, and praising You. Amen

It’s a scenario that you’d expect to find in Orwell’s “1984” or a similar dystopian nightmare: Convince the all-powerful government why your child should be allowed to live, or they’ll pull the plug.

That’s exactly the same disturbing ultimatum just given to the family of young Charlie Gard by a judge in the United Kingdom, and now the options are running out.

According to The Sun, the parents of the terminally ill toddler were told Monday they had two days — just 48 hours — to provide “new and powerful evidence” of why their son should be kept alive in order to receive new treatments.

This is something we should also be in prayer over for these parents and their little boy that the Lord would intervene even as he has intervened here in America. Our prayers are needed for this little boy to come here and receive treatment.

How can we not pray for this child and his family. The Lord cares about the 'little ones,' those who are too weak to defend themselves.

This is the prayer from 8/29/15

This is a 'soap box prayer,' I'm preaching but also praying.

Revelation 3, tells us the church of Laodicea is examined, and because they are rich, comfortable, and feel alive, they are satisfied with themselves. Does that describe today's church? Are we neither hot nor cold, but just lukewarm? Americans have been found to be the most financially generous people, but we have it to be generous with. Is it time to look at the advice given, " Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God." Wake Up, should be our battle cry. Wake Up, and begin to arm yourself, for Satan is here, roaring like a lion come to devour his prey.

Ezekiel 22:25 "There is a conspiracy of her princes within her like a roaring lion tearing its prey; they devour people, take treasures and precious things and make many widows within her." War brings more riches to the few, misery and widows are the lot for their people. It is time to prepare for another type of war, a war the evil do not know how to fight. Go to your prayer closet, shut the door, confess your sins, arm yourself with the Word and prepare to fight. When you emerge, come out filled with the Spirit that will carry you through the day. Know that it takes time, be prepared to lose yourself in meditation with the Lord.

1 Timothy 6 says "Fight the good fight of the faith." The fight to bring God back to America. Instead of "We can do it," our battle cry should be "We WILL do it." We cannot fight the spirits of evil without donning the full armor of the Lord. With true commitment, the Lord will send an angel to go ahead of us. We must commit to the necessary time each day to read the Word and pray. Know the Law of man and the Word of God, then we will be ready to shine like a star in His heaven. For He is the Way, He will lead us to be invincible against the cunning of Satan. This we pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen
