This is a 'soap box prayer,' I'm preaching but also praying.

Revelation 3, tells us the church of Laodicea is examined, and because they are rich, comfortable, and feel alive, they are satisfied with themselves. Does that describe today's church? Are we neither hot nor cold, but just lukewarm? Americans have been found to be the most financially generous people, but we have it to be generous with. Is it time to look at the advice given, " Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God." Wake Up, should be our battle cry. Wake Up, and begin to arm yourself, for Satan is here, roaring like a lion come to devour his prey.

Ezekiel 22:25 "There is a conspiracy of her princes within her like a roaring lion tearing its prey; they devour people, take treasures and precious things and make many widows within her." War brings more riches to the few, misery and widows are the lot for their people. It is time to prepare for another type of war, a war the evil do not know how to fight. Go to your prayer closet, shut the door, confess your sins, arm yourself with the Word and prepare to fight. When you emerge, come out filled with the Spirit that will carry you through the day. Know that it takes time, be prepared to lose yourself in meditation with the Lord.

1 Timothy 6 says "Fight the good fight of the faith." The fight to bring God back to America. Instead of "We can do it," our battle cry should be "We WILL do it." We cannot fight the spirits of evil without donning the full armor of the Lord. With true commitment, the Lord will send an angel to go ahead of us. We must commit to the necessary time each day to read the Word and pray. Know the Law of man and the Word of God, then we will be ready to shine like a star in His heaven. For He is the Way, He will lead us to be invincible against the cunning of Satan. This we pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 8/31/15

The Lord is so good, His mercy endureth forever, and like a loving parent He is always patient and hopeful for His children. We are also called His sheep. Sheep are often referred to as being dumb, they behave according to instinct. They recognize the face of the person who feeds them. A bottle fed lamb will bond with their caregiver. Sheep can be clicker trained. Pete and his girl friend found they could 'clicker train' his goats. Two very stubborn qualities are related to sheep, they DO NOT like to go downhill, they prefer going up; and their natural instinct is to herd together for survival.

Can we relate to the sheep, affection for a caregiver, or a partner, and going forward. When you see a young mother holding her baby so tenderly, he relates his care to the voice, the face, and the smell. How much more should we be relating our care to His soft voice, His image in our head, and the quality of life He has provided for us? The Lord certainly is good, generous, and very patient. Like a good parent, He allows us to experience hard times, often difficulties that we bring upon ourselves. Those are the situations that can make us or break us. Do we learn from them, then pick ourselves up, and come out stronger?

Life has taught us that when something is worth having, worth fighting for, it's also worth suffering for. When we survey our past, we find the challenging times were preparing us to weather the next storm. Jesus experienced suffering and death for us, can we not become stronger through suffering, and then give Him credit for bringing us through the fire? Fire purifies gold. When all impurities are gone, you have 24-karat gold - the most valuable grade! That's what we are to our dear Lord, "the MOST valuable grade!" Keep us, and bring us through the fire dear Lord, this we pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This prayer is from 9/2/15

The Lord has often chosen strange servants His work to perform. Look at Cyrus the Great, King of Persia. He sent the exiles back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. 'In the first year of his reign he was prompted by God to make a decree that the Temple in Jerusalem should be rebuilt and that such Jews as cared to might return to their land for this purpose. Moreover, he showed his interest in the project by sending back with them the sacred vessels which had been taken from the First Temple and a considerable sum of money with which to buy building materials.' King Darius confirmed Cyrus’s original edict and the temple was rebuilt.

The book of Nehemiah begins with King Artaxerxes, another Persian king, sending Nehemiah to Jerusalem to rebuild its walls. With both projects there was opposition, and the people were weak, they needed a leader to push them on, encourage them. Is that what we need, an unlikely leader to stand up and proclaim America will once again be great! Is that what we're hearing on the political trail? Are we considering that we, who claim strong Christian beliefs have been silent, and an unconventional 'Trumpet' blast is waking us from our slumber, waking us to the call to stand up for our God and then He will stand up for us?

The Lord is merciful and patient, we have been slow and silent regarding our need for His presence in the affairs of this country. In Isaiah 41:9-11, the Lord is telling the children of Abraham that He has brought them from the ends of the earth, they are His servants. Are we not also His servants, then can we say we are about His business? Can we say we advocate being a Christian nation when we do not speak up? Our actions, or lack thereof accuses us of being complicit when we will not stand up for our faith. Has the good life God has provided for us encouraged us to become weak and soft, expecting someone else to do the work?

An indictment that is not pretty, an indictment to spur you to action. We have to be active in our prayer life for our nation, active in reading the Word, active in advocating and praising the Lord. Help us Lord, we are well aware of our need for Your presence in our everyday affairs. Prepare us, arm us for the fight, in Jesus name we ask. We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Is that what we need, an unlikely leader to stand up and proclaim America will once again be great!

I wrote this prayer two years before Donald Trump became President - Boy! The Lord gave me words that were right on.

It has disappeared!

I thought I wrote something on this site a day or two ago - AND it is gone. Guess I wrote it, previewed it and x'd out without sending to post it. This is what it was about.

This site has become the neglected stepchild.
Once a vibrate, active site, with conversations, jokes, and prayers.
Now, mainly just two of us visit. A prayer site forgotten!
Armi, where are you, you started this site? Have you left OPP?
Some probably have left, others have drifted on to more current sites.
Yes, we tend to move on. The old sites become trite, I guess.
Well, I'm old, I'm faithful, and I miss all the charming chatter.
But, since it seems quite dead - I guess, I too will be leaving.
What about you, bahmer? Shall we too, let go?

I'm willing to stay if you are. I post on both Psalms, bdamage's site, and here, once in a great while something catches my eye and I'll make a note or two there - but not very often. See you here, tomorrow.

This is the prayer from 9/4/15

When did the message change, when was it that sermons went from hell and damnation for sin, to mainly mercy and forgiveness? As I recall it was sometime during the mid-forties, and from that time on did you notice how the devil moved in to open the field? It is true, the Bible tells us God is love, He is merciful and forgiving, but He is also a Judge. As such He has to stand on His Word. The Bible says there is one unforgivable sin. Mark 3:28-30: "Truly I tell you, all sins and blasphemes will be forgiven for the sons of men. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternal sin.

“Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!” Matthew 18:7. And, woe to him who falls into the trap of pleasure through such deception. Man is weak, he is susceptible to temptation, particularly when it is considered legal. You know in your heart right from wrong, and if the law does not condemn you, the devil will soothe your problems from a guilty conscience. The Lord asks in Jeremiah 6:15 "Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all, they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them." Sin does carry punishment.

Those two paragraphs appear to have some conflict, just as we have conflict and doubt in our hearts as to how seriously we should take sin. If our sins were laid before us, would we wipe them away with a caviler attitude, or would we be grieved in our heart and seek mercy? That may be the key! To be able to recognize our wrongs as being sinful, feeling remorse for them, and asking the Lord to forgive us. When it's all legal, wh**ever pleases you - do it; that type of attitude deadens the conscience, we no longer see right from wrong. Hopefully, when 'The Greatest Generation' passes away, they will have left the mark of right from wrong.

Help us Lord, help us to save souls and to keep our minds and souls dedicated to You. Keep us Lord, keep us from the easy draw of temptation that has become so pervasive. Have us set a standard Lord, a standard that will leave Your mark for the next generation that follows. This is a prayer for today, Lord, we ask that You have it resonate, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

This is the prayer from 9/6/15

We went to church last night to hear the guest speaker. I only know his first name is Reggie, his message is worth sharing so rather than a prayer - this was his message.

He was a very heavy black man, who faced his life head-on. He told that the father left, so his mother sold herself in order to support his brother and sister. He said, he was the product of a $20 dollar sale, and his mother couldn't care for another baby so she gave him away. He went into foster care from 8 to 21. He h**ed those years, they were years he wished he would die. He went on to say, "The rear view mirror is small, you can look back and see where you have been, the windshield is big so you can better see where you are going. Don't fret about the past, look at where you are, handle that, and figure out where you are going. He said he lives his life by the 10 second rule. When it comes to a choice, make up your mind in 10 seconds.

He speaks at schools, and to thousands of children every year. Naturally, he can't talk about God or Jesus, so he bases his talks on 10 specific principles. A few months ago, he spoke at the Ferguson, MO high school. After his talk, one boy came up and gave him a big hug. The principal came over, and sent the boy off. He told Reggie that boy is never allowed to talk to anyone, he's violent, and a bully, he isn't even allowed to sit near anyone in class, he has to sit at a table alone during lunch period. His father is in jail for murder, the uncle a drug dealer, and the kid sells drugs for him. The principal was afraid he might even stab Reggie.

Not long after Reggie left that school, he received a call from the principal. At lunch period, a girl with cerebral palsy was in the lunch line, received her tray and was trying to carry it to a table where she'd left her crutch. She fell, her tray and food went everywhere. That boy went over, picked her up, and took her to his table, got in line and bought her another tray of food. The principal had not seen the first part, but did see his tray left on the table, and was upset because they are to carry their tray over and leave them in a certain area. But then, he saw the boy return and place the new tray in front of the girl. Later he called him to his office. When questioned about the incident, the boy responded, "She was my number 7 for the day, I want to beat everyone else to get my TEN for today."

I seldom see ten people in a day, how about you? That won't stop us from trying to bless someone with our prayers. God DOES move mountains, sometimes in strange ways. To me, it seems there are too many black leaders, right now, fomenting r****m. 'K**l a cop' is a movement that the government is not trying to soothe and correct. God can do it. This is a challenge, pray for an outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon black people, to have them look at their brothers and sisters, white and black, as God's children. Pray they are blessed with the message of TEN.

Amen, Amen let us all look for our TEN

This is a prayer/prose from 9/8/15

This is a different prayer, it really is prose. I feel it honors our Lord, so I am sharing it as my prayer for the day. I hope you enjoy it, and that it conveys the awesome feeling I had when visualizing it.

I was sitting in church, listening to the Praise and Worship singing. Usually, I will stand but didn't because I'd been on my feet a lot that day, and my knee was sort of hurting. A girl a couple of rows ahead of me had on a T-shirt that read "Jesus is the anchor of my soul." From that, I started to write, and a vision filled my head - this is the finished product.

Jesus is the anchor of my ship.
With Him in control the seas are calm.
With Him the waves are gone,
The sea shines like glass.

I can sense His presence.
Tears fill my eyes as I gaze at the sky.
His face is reflected in the clouds,
All around Him is His holy aura.

Everything is so still,
Yet there is a mighty roar.
It is the rushing wind,
It moves my ship onward.

Angels appear coming forward,
Then fade as more angels appear.
This sight is so awesome,
How do I share the experience?

What words can I use to tell you?
My heart feels like it will burst from within me.
In my mind, it is real,
How do I convey such joy?

Amen

Good evening Prayer team members,

Hey Armageddun, how are you these days?

As many of you know I kept the topic "Praying for America--Through a Psalm of David" alive and earlier this year I also started "Praying for America Through the Psalm of David: The Second Journey". We have 20 or so more psalms to go. But I want to publicly appreciate BearK.

She has posted consistently on both threads and her prayers are some of the best prayers I have read in a really long time. Thank you, Bear for your wisdom, insight, faith and prayers. May the Lord Bless you always.

Friends I would also like to thank bahmer for his great "Amen Amen" responses. He has been with the topic since I started it back in 2014 and is still going on strong today.

We have 20 or so more Psalms to go, and the second journey will end. In these next 20 days, I welcome everyone to the two threads, to pray for America and ourselves. Come and join us, and see the beauty of the Lord. The prayers of BearK and the "Amen" from bahmer is a perfect show of the Light of the Lord. Come and join us, read our prayers.

May God bless this Prayer Team, and may we all be present at the feast of the Lamb, on that day when He wipes all our tears away. I hope to see each and every one of you there. Don't disappoint me.

God Bless You All!
