I am tired of posting for now. Things are getting more outrageous all the time. Whats your hobby? Do you have any good news? a good recipe? well Thats what I would like to talk about if any one feels like it.

Not really tired put interest is fading.

I have a lot of interests but I can't say I have any hobbies.

For the last couple of months I have been on this forum a lot.

I do have some money in the stock market & like to follow that.

At 77 I still go out & work. My goal is for 100 billable hours a month but have been missing that goal lately.

The Soviet Union had the government control everything. Putin has the government controlling everything. Conservatives try to get the government controlling less than they do in America. Somehow, fools conclude therefore that conservatives are responsible for Putin. No need to think anything through, blame everything bad on those whose ideology is beyond your ability to comprehend.

No just control the government. Then we can control every thing. Koch Brothers creed.

I usually only look in to the topics that are of interest to me and will respond 9 out of 10 times.
There are too many topics posted on a daily basis for me to look in on.
At this point I'm looking at the poster first and then the topic.
I've kind of weeded out threads I've already read about in my own news sources.

I would say that the tone of the post is the key to following it.

I do check out many that are just rants. But I close to seek out post where people are shown respect.

For if one wished to be respected one must show respect.

Some times one has to call out a person when they get a bit out of line. It should be done with a bit of kindness though.

The well being of each of us has bearing on the other.

As more of us have a good life. Life is better for more of us.

Any of our problems are all our problems.

Thanks Floyd, this is the right question. Rather than the ongoing "right vs left" tit-for-tat that dominates this site as of late, we should be looking at humanity's true enemy: insatiable greed and/or powerlust. If the ideologues were able to put aside their hate for a moment, maybe they'd see that. Maybe they'd learn the lessons of history. Look in the mirror folks- we are our own worst enemy.

Thank you! I do have a great faith in people doing the right thing.

Putin is a political genius. He is ruthless, efficient, and most of all cunning. And the Russian people are behind him 100%, despite being deprived of democratic representation and free speech. One of the reasons for this, I believe, is Mr. Putin's post-soviet Russian ideological realignment from the extreme left, to the extreme right. Instead of the eternal revolution and egalitarian equality, Mr. Putin has replaced these soviet era ideals, with those that can be found within our nation's own bible belt.

Putin's recent trumpeting of anti-LGBTQ laws is one of many of his efforts to create a new conservative, "morally righteous" Russian Empire. These homophobic sentiments are shared with many citizens of the United States, despite our recent progress on the issue. Support is even more fervent among African nations who have also passed anti-gay laws.

This, along with his extreme privatization measures, goes to show that when Reagan brought the wall down, he may have created an even worse enemy than we had before.

Count me among those who would rather cut the throat of their own president when he is bad than support him. The Germans made the mistake of supporting Hitler, and that proved to be a bad choice. I am dedicated to learning from history and not repeating the same mistake.

You're lucky you don't have someone who's willing to jump right in. Putin probably does see the US as weak because of people who would sooner cut the throat of their own president rather than support him. You are part of the problem.

You are not alone on that point.

It is pretty evident that many are watching OPP.

I've noticed that approx 10% of all that look in on a topic respond to a thread.
One thread I started had over 8,000 looks, but only about 800 responded.
I kind of wondered who ARE all these people?

Many of them are us. We can't & don't want to respond to every post. But we do like to see what is being said.

We have lots of answers, but what are the questions.

Or at least what are the questions we should be asking.

For me I guess the question is: Just what am I looking for.

Well with all that is going on in the country & world today I need to see what changes in my outlook need changing to best adapt to for my own personal well being.

I have always felt that I could get by with not being greedy.
In the world to day greed dominates.

I can get by with being less greedy than most but in the world of greed I find it harder to get by with out becoming greedier than I am.

So I am here on this forum seeking the path that most want to take.

So I ask is more greed the only way to go?

If not what is to be done with those that show the greatest greedi?

No, it is the Federal Government that decrees insurance companies may not sell across state lines.

Of course it isn't the Insurance Companies that don't want competition that keeps it the way it is.

The country is going to hell in a basket. Things are getting worse & you & the people you support are as much a cause of the problems as any one.

I have been around the block a few times & I can tell when some one is full of it as well as most.

And you are full of it. Yes you are as much of the cause of the problems as I & the people that I support.

An incinerator in Oregon has been ordered to stop burning medical waste to power homes after it was discovered aborted babies from Canada were part of materials being used for energy. Well just how do you think medical waste should be disposed of.

I would seem to me that burning it would be one of the best ways to get rid of any chance of it causing any possible health problems.

They cremate bodies all the time.

Most all major news outlets in America, if they even cover it, have couched the disturbance between the Bureau of Land Management and Cliven Bundy as one based on the Bundy Ranch refusing to pay for grazing rights on Federal property.

Make no mistake, the Bundy and Laney incidents are not about grazing rights or boundary disputes, and even though the government seems to put the welfare of “endangered” species over the welfare of citizens it is not about that either. It is about government control.

It is about control but you don't seem to want to truly find out who is really in control. You just seem to think that it would be okay if your people were in control.

Well just maybe those in control doing things you don't like are coming from those that you support.
