I would suggest to you, Rumitoid, that an obvious inability or unwillingness to defend yourself is what makes you a target. Carrying a firearm is not borrowing trouble, it is preventing it. Twice I have avoided confrontations by the simple act of brushing back my jacket, so the aggressor could see I was armed. ( I also have a very winning smile). This is after verbal efforts failed. I am too crippled to effectively defend myself against younger, stronger or multiple attackers. I cannot limp fast enough to avoid an attack that way. I am too young to die, and to old to subject myself to an ass whipping. I am, however, a very good shot who has used a firearm in self defense before, not a loudmouth wannabe.

The whole problem with gun ownership, is not that people have them, so much as it is that the Government doesn't want people to have them. It has nothing to do with anything other than FEAR on the governments part. It is the government that fears that we will throw them into the pit if they get too demanding.

Do you have any idea how many people really own guns? I doubt if anyone knows for sure. That is why the government is trying to get everyone to register it so they can disarm you and put into to a prison like environment. They know that some of the draconian issues are only successful because most of the people are level headed. However, since this administration thinking has changed. They are shaking in their boots because of some of their actions.

The NRA is one of the best organizations for gun safety, and common sense. Who else is working so hard to maintain you freedom???

Nah. Keeping innocent Americans at the mercy of armed criminals is the abomination. Violating the RIGHT of people, under the CONSTITUTION (this is the thing our rights are based on--for you liberals that are incapable of understanding anything that requires BRAIN FUNCTION) to own guns to protect themselves, is an abomination.
And anybody that fails to understand that fact, is an abomination.
