tThe trouble is that we don't have enough people that care to inform themselves

It would be easier to stay informed if the scope of what the government gets involved in is smaller then it is today.
I disagree that the end of a term would create the impetus to do criminal or ethical wrongs at the last moments. If they have it in them they will be at it from the start,it's the constant barrage of "deal making" in Washington that erodes the best intentions of those elected.Terms limits means you also get people that want to get things done in a hurry instead of making it a career. If a representative knows that they won't be there long they can live with the lack of congeniality that comes from standing on principle.
But more then any one thing if a politician knows they are barred for life from ever serving in the government again they will be more likely to think hard about what their v**es do to the private sector.

thanks dave....my thoughts are the same.

because o the failure of people to be completely honest and altruistic when serving in a government position ,elected or not,we need to resist the urge to have government have power over all but the most egregious criminal wrongs.
A benign dictatorship would be the perfect form of government...there just aren't any benign humans to run it
since no matter what the government regulates there will always be a monied interest to want an exemption or exception there will always be those that adress those that v**e on changing regulations with campaign contributions.

we need an iron clad term limit of one.....one term as senator, representitive or president then a life long ban of working for any other federal government office or agency.
we should also limit people that work for the offices of any legislative branch to no more then two term all or part then back out into private enterprize to live with the results of your legislation.

democrats are screwing the very people that v**e for them and most of them are either too stupid to know or like you mr brady to busy with their own life to care...as I said it hasn't effected me much because my sk**ls are in the top .5% of carpenters...it the others that i work near and see suffering from i*****l i*********n that i'm concerned about.....yes the i******s are working now and the government hasn't done a thing about it...giving amnesty will just make 20 million more cross the border and a country with out borders isn't a country.

my point is that all over america people that don't have first hand knowledge of what i******s have done to mid to lower middle class americans think giving i******s the legal ability to through family unification to triple or quadruple the low sk**l dependant labor force is a good thing...i'm telling you it isn't.
Not everyone went to college and they don't deserve to have their earning power destroyed so democrats can get elected and government workers have some one to enroll in social destruction programs

mr brady you have no clue....i'm a construction professional that builds curved wood staircases for a living. It's a trade that takes a modicum of knowledge and still pays pretty darn well. But that is no longer the case for most other contruction jobs...and you democrats like to see the "little guy" make a decent living if i'm not mistaken...wages are either at or below what they were...excepting government paid jobs...20 years ago.And it isn't just because of the recession.
In 2005 at the top of the housing boom an illegal from mexico came up to me and asked why all you stair guys are making such good money(100k plus) and all the other carpenters are making s**t for wages(less then 35k).I told him and he didn't like it.
When I was a young man in the early 80s the guys doing his job were making 15 to 18 and the foreman on the crew was making 22 an hour....you could raise a family with a wife that got to stay home or work part time ...her choice of course....you could buy and pay for a middle class style home and even take a vacation once in a while and still save some for retirement.
Flash forward to the day the illegal asked me why(in his words) "all you gringoes are the only ones doing the stair work and making good money".(now I don't know about you but being called a grigo by an illegal is about the same as a white guy calling a black guy a n****r...didn't set well with me.)
so I told him what happened...eac suceeding wave of new i******s...and they were flooding across the border back then...out illegaled the last wave and drove wages in those trades down to in some cases minimum wage for back breaking semi sk**led labor. He was making less at his trade then the same tradesman were making doing that trade 25 years earlier.Everything had gone up in price by at least double during that time and he was making half.
so in effect he was making 25% of what people were making in the mid to early 80's...were the houses selling for the same ...hell no they were four times as expensive.

the vast quantities of cheap labor had driven wage DURING A BOOM TIME ...backwards!!!!
things in construction are worse now...wages are less and the projects I bid have to be bid at half or less of the profit I was making 6 years ago.I used to hire helpers and pay them 25$ an hour(good sk**led finish carpenters with a full set of tools and a birth certificate with USA on it).

so mr brady get a damn clue because the i******s they want to legalize today will still be living below 130% of the poverty line and you and your liberal friends will be giving them medical insurance food stamps and rent assistance to do it...if they kicked them all out wages would rise unemployment amoung americans in this field will drop and the deficits your party says they are so concerned (but are lying like dogs)about might actually go down if the housing market turns.

poco....is that a description of the number of synaptic gaps you come equipt with?

People, like Mitt Romney are promoting s***e labor in places like China because it makes them rich. The factory he is talking about is one that he bought. He is using young girls as s***es to make cheap items so places like Walmart can get rich.
s***es are not paid and the wage they recieve is comparable to our minimum wage when you consider cost of living in china.

Bain Capital, Mitt Romney's company, had an automotive parts company in Freeport, IL. The day before the 2012 e******n 149 people lost their jobs so Bain Capital could send the company to China for cheap labor. Bain Capital received a nice profit for that.

The only concentration camps in this country are the ones the Republicans have created and are now complaining about. It is forcing women to have babies they cannot afford and complaining about why are there so many takers? Why are there so many on welfare? Unless, of course you expect for the mothers and their infants to starve to death.
really ?where are these camps...detroit...chicago ?

When Hitler was in Germany he forced 800,000 women out of the workforce and into their homes to raise babies. Your party thinks that is place for a women to be.
no comment other then my lead in

The doctors in N**i concentration camps theorized that a woman could not pregnant when raped. That is what your party thinks. Just ask Republicans Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, et al. They both lost their seats to Democrats in the 2012 e******n.
one republican mis spoke and now he speaks for the party...does john conners san maxine waters speak for the dems...we could quote some duszys from them

The more Republicans talk, and they just can't seem to keep their mouths shut, the more they will lose, and the more Democrats win. The most recent one is Don Young, who called Hispanics "Wetbacks", a very diaparaging term.

we called them i*****l a***ns and you folks don't like the t***h...what should we call them?

Your party doesn't even respect women, it took the Republicans in Congress over a year to pass the VAWA, Violence Against Women Act. Republican Ron Johnson said that it was unfair to men. In other words, it just fine to beat your wife, just don't get caught.

it is already illegal do do violence to women

The president tried to pass a bill to fight against Human Trafficking, the GOP in Congress vetoed that. This bill would have fought to get 9, 10, 11 year old girls out of prostitution, but they do not seem to have a problem with that either.
those things are already illegal too

The GOP has no respect and very little reguard for anyone except for themselves. That is why the Republican party is call the "self serving drama queens".
People, like Mitt Romney are promoting s***e labor... (show quote)

hhahahaha you are calling us drama queens...hahahaha roflmao!!!!!

roy and old roy...you notice how not a single major contributing liberal to this board wants to try and answer this....that's cause either their leadership is so much smarter then them and they don't comprehend their reasoning or they know the reasoning and can't bare to expose the people they hold in high esteem for the political hacks they are...

mr brady ...mr chard ...comon you two are smarter then your fearless leaders are'nt ya?

the first five words of the post identify who wants this.

actually the whole reason it is being considered at all is because the baby boomers are set to retire...some already have...
The democrats want the i******s because 70% of hispanics v**ed for them and they make up the largest demogrphic of i******s.
The republicans that support this are either looking for some of that v**er support(mc cain in particular) or looking to drop wages even further so manufacturing company owners will financially support them for ree******n.
both see the looming baby bomers and know that they will either have to make hard choices politically in either reducing benefits of SS and medicare or increasing taxes on those still working...niether the democrats or republicans in office today want to face pissed off senoirs or pissed off working americans so they ignore the employers that report false ss security numbers(after all those benfits will never have to be paid) and look forward to 10+ million i******s adding to the revenue side of the equation with no current expences on the other side since the i******s are mostly under 40 years old and won't collect til the current crop of liars and t*****rs have retired from office or died in office.
The really sad part is none of this mentions the loss of the rule of law in the country.

The democrats and liberal republicans have decided to try to give amnesty to i******s.

What I want to know from the liberals republicans and democrats here is how does this help the unemployed and underemployed...not to mention the underpaid people that the democrats always say the represent?

In a time of extended and recently rising unemployment and wages in some jobs being pushed back to levels not seen since the early nineties how will adding 10+ million new legally empowered job seekers to the competition for scarce jobs and low wage jobs help the very people that the democrats say they are always out to help??

Come on now mr and mrs liberal democrat ..tell us how this helps with your vast understanding of economics and the market system of free people?

In my schooling in the basics of economics I was rightly told that if you have ten oranges and five hundred people with scurvy the price of those oranges would be high. If you had ten people and five hundred oranges the price would be low.Keeping that in mind ,how does adding millions of job seekers(and yes there will be millions more becasues they listen to what the press in this country is saying around the world and the amnesty talk has already increased the rate of people trying to illegally enter the country to get in before the amnesty goes into effect ...if it does) to an economy that can't employ those born or legally here already with a decent full time job at a decent wage help those on the bottom rung of societies earners? The democrat v**er.
