Thanks for the comment. I think you completely missed the point of my post. Here it is again in plain text -- no rhetoric. I agree that Trump is unconventional but that is the very reason the v**ers of America elected him. The problem is that the RINO Congress is not promoting or accomplishing the Trump agenda. I hope you had not rather have Obama III and worse with Hillary Clinton and the complete destruction of America.

Deja vu 1994

The way I see things stacking up in America we are experiencing Deja vu a la 1994. I make reference to The Contract with America written by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey. Republicans took the House and Senate that year by overwhelming majority for the first time since 1953 and put the Clinton White House squarely on the defensive. In as much as the 1994 e******ns were a great Republican victory, most of the elements of The Contract with America did not pass Congress and some were vetoed by Bill Clinton.

In the subsequent years for a number of reasons the great power surge by Republicans just sort of died a slow death due to personal scandal, political ineptness and perhaps the lack of dynamic leadership. Even Newt Gingrich ended up leaving office in disgrace.

Great Horned Toads! I see the same scenario starting to play out again today but this time not only do Republicans have majority in both Houses but control of the White House also. -- An unprecedented combination in recent years! I fear that Republicans in Washington, except for President Trump, will again just let their power slowly piss away with little or no accomplishment to show. And then the Democrats will soon be back in full power probably with a majority in both Houses and the White House to add to the destruction of America. I firmly believe that President Trump in addition to majority control of both Houses of Congress is the last chance for America as established by the framers of our Constitution.

It is completely beyond my understanding why Republicans can’t get together and turn this country around. If Republicans don’t get behind our President then our country will surely be lost to the Liberals like Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, the Harry Reids and Chuck Schumers as well as many more Socialists with a Marxist leaning. We are DONE, DOOMED, FINISHED!

America cannot continue down the perilous road of political bickering, squabbling and acting like jealous high school students. I would h**e to see what the Democrats could and would do if they had the control of our government as do Republicans. The Democrats would get into a “lock-step” and ram rod their agenda through in short order. Perhaps they can’t think but they can sure act in unity.

Time is running out for America and Republican total control will not last much longer! We have strong leadership in the White House; we need strong effective leadership in both Houses of Congress to get Republicans under control and fix America.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope I can contribute to this forum in the future. Actually I am a retired Navy aircraft carrier pilot but spent many years at sea even in command of a surface ship. I have many USMC friends -- great people! America could not do without them. I frequently say "When the US Marines go down the tubes.... America is not far behind." God Bless our great country that we may indeed become a Great Nation again.

Excuse me please but I take exception with your conspiracy theory relative to the recent collisions involving the US Navy in the Pacific and China. From my experience of 30 years in the US Navy, collisions at sea have happened, do happen and will happen in the future. All are unfortunate but in my experience there is always some ship and someone at fault or perhaps a number of people at fault. Many times collisions happen late at night or in the very early morning hours. The Commanding Officer is not on the bridge and perhaps not even alerted to the deteriorating situation. The Officer of the Deck fails to notify the Commanding Officer or fails to take appropriate action too late. We used to say that “Might is right” regardless of who has the right of way -- in other words “Get out of the way of that big bastard before he hits you”! A Navy destroyer is a highly maneuverable ship with great acceleration while most merchant ships are single screw (one propeller); most do not accelerate or slow down fast at all. A Navy destroyer can easily out maneuver any merchant ship – hands down if the Conning Officer gives the command.

I think I also witnessed the grounding of the aircraft carrier that you mentioned. It happened in the approach to Alameda, CA in about 1983. Strangely enough the Commanding Officer’s career was not ended as it should have but he went on to make at least three or maybe four stars.

In my opinion, a big problem in the US Navy today (and there are plenty more) is the result of Obama’s attempt to degrade all US Military Services. He did a good job at it. The main problem today in the US Navy as I see it is that the Commanding Officer has much much more on his plate than just basic Navy training, seamanship and readiness for war. Powerful distractors include, political correctness, women on combatant ships, homosexuals on ships, t***s-g****rs on ships, lack of discipline, hand holding and ensuring everyone has a full ration of self-esteem. And don’t forget the mountainous administrative and engineering requirements on the ships company not to mention the fact that Obama purged the Navy of many senior officers that did not agree with him. The Navy is not the place for a social experiment and I would bet there is a virtual “love-in” below the decks of many Navy ships today after hours. I would h**e to be the Commanding Officer of a Navy Ship today – the probability for failure is just too great. I h**e to second guess any Commanding Officer involved in a collision there is always a number of factors that the public never hears.

We must start doing basic Navy “STUFF” again and put aside this other PC BS.
For the last two recent Pacific collisions -- I would be interested to learn the g****r, rank and experience level of the Officer of the Deck at the time of the collision.
