What inflationary are you talking about? Currently inflation is very low. Inflation means there are too much demand in the market with very low supplies. Currently salaries and wages went up especially to those jobs needing sk**led workers. There are many sk**led jobs available but short of qualified workers. Companies pay higher wages or salaries to hiring the qualified ones.

The purpose of the tax rate reduction is balancing the effects of the v***s in our economy. Many businesses has slowed down, some could not function fully as a result. E.g. Tourism has slow down, all those companies with relevant business activities also slow down. When it is slow, the demands are very low, and therefore, there is a negative effect on inflation.

And then what? Bailouts for the banks because fewer people are using them? Bailouts for the shale oil industry because they can't make a profit now that oil prices are slumping? Bailouts for the airlines because they won't make a profit? Bailouts for companies because they can't produce anything because their supply lines are behind schedule? Where does it end? Nothing is going to fix the economy from this mess----let the free market correct itself and quit messing around with it AND the federal budget. None of it is necessary.

Actually, I used to work in government in my earlier days, but no longer. And the actual writer of the article is an investments manager and business consultant.

My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us!
I'm sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis (Florida) trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of p**********l candidates calling for policies to "fix" the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around.

I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook's, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we've become completely blind to it.

Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don't give them a second thought.

We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty One Times!!!

Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, "An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest e*****rates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity."

Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in.

When I first read that statement, I thought to myself that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I've ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided.

My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let's just say I didn't have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country.

People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they've never seen prosperity, and as a result, we elect some politicians who are dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism.

Why? The answer is this. My generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn't live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or we didn't see the rise and fall of socialism and c*******m.

We don't know what it's like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don't have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it's spreading like a plague."

Part of the problem is that they were never TAUGHT to be grateful. How to say thank you and be appreciative of the small things in life-----not all the glittery, glitzy, shiny toys. They need to take some time and spend it in nature for a week at a time (without all the gadgets), and learn to appreciate the solitude of prayer, thought, and quiet.

Good for you. I have a mix of frozen, canned, and MRE, along with gallons of water. Water gets rotated out every month, and frozen gets rotated out every year.

Or is it a unnecessary precaution?

I would say to always have emergency food and water on hand. Not just for emergencies, that also comes in handy in case of last minute visitors or unexpected power outages, too.

I realize this will sound really stupid, but I have never been afraid of looking foolish. This is my own view, backed up with nothing, but here goes. I believe the c****a v***s was here in this country a lot longer than anyone is saying. It was loose in China a long time before it was recognized. During that time people were coming back from China. My point it is here and you cannot stop it with travel restrictions.

So why is it only now becoming noticed here ? Forget China for a second. Look at Iran and Italy. Both those countries have a lot of sick people compared to us. For some reason, even before the quarantines and other measures, the spread has been delayed in the US. Some of that is from people not being tested, but in Italy and Iran they don't have enough test kits either, yet they know they have a problem just because there are so many sick all over the place.

I can only guess that with the better sanitary conditions here the v***s is slower to spread. Considering that Americans are the most mobile people on Earth, I find that amazing. That said it is finally spreading and will continue, but I am not living my life in fear. I will take precautions and wipe things down more, but that is it. If I get it, I get it.

I'm no expert on beauty pageants but I suspect that culture may play a big part in participation. Some cultures may not gravitate to that type of display of beauty while others do. Chess players are much more prevalent in Asia than in South America. There are probably many similar examples, many having no correlation to race, which could be cited. Personal preferences change and sometimes it takes a long time to realize change.

It's also a sponsor issue, too. Most sponsors don't necessarily know any minorities that could be in a pageant, and they won't go out of their way to look for any.
