Panic buying feeds on itself. In 2020 I remember seeing people wheeling shopping carts full of toilet paper. Soon we had shortages. It was based on nothing. The shortages in Russia are based on something. The Russian currency has lost major value and Western Sanctions are real.

Russia has a history of empty supermarket shelves going back to the Soviet days. The Russian People do not trust their government. Why should they ?

As long as it is only the powerless Russian citizens and pensioners who suffer, nothing will change. If the Police and Russian Security Forces begin to have trouble feeding their families, they might not follow Putin's orders.

Russia will need forgiveness. Russia risks becoming North Korea. Except for murdering Ukrainians and flattening their country Vlad did the World a lot of good. He did what America couldn't do. Wake up Europe to the fact that yes evil does exist in the World. Yes you do need to take defense seriously. Yes evil countries do bad things to weak nations. No G***n E****y will not heat your homes and power your industries when Russia cuts off your natural gas.

Vlad is clamping down hard on his people to keep them in line. Funny thing, when you do that, they aren't as productive and innovative. When the shooting and the missiles stop, Putin will have to keep his boot on the necks of his people for a long time, to keep them from finding out about his war crimes. Western Corporations will not be flocking back to resume business as usual. When they try to, public pressure will be brought to bear on them. Russia will go backwards economically.

North Korea is a dung heap because the Kim Family has to terrorize their people to stay in control. That is where Russia is headed. The talented, the smart, and the wealthy will flee Russia, just when it needs them. One of their top ballerinas just left her country to dance for a Dutch Ballet Company over the war.

US officials confirm Russia has used hypersonic missiles against Ukraine

US officials confirmed to CNN that Russia launched hypersonic missiles against Ukraine last week, the first known use of such missiles in combat. The US was able to track the launches in real time, the sources said.

The launches were likely intended to test the weapons and send a message to the West about Russian capabilities, multiple sources told CNN.

Russia's Ministry of Defence said Saturday that it had launched hypersonic Kinzhal missiles against a military ammunitions warehouse in western Ukraine on Friday, destroying the structure in the Ukrainian village of Delyatin. CNN is unable to independently verify this claim.

Traveling at Mach 5 speed or faster, hypersonic weapons are difficult to detect, posing a challenge to missile defense systems. Hypersonic missiles can travel at a far lower trajectory than high-arcing ballistic missiles, which can be easily detectable. Hypersonics can also maneuver and evade missile defense systems.

The Pentagon has made developing hypersonic weapons one of its top priorities, particularly as China and Russia are working to develop their own versions.

Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule was not even under China rule until 1945, after WWII, and the ROC government relocated there in 1949 during the revolution. So, practically speaking, Taiwan was only a part of a unified China for four years. The CCP stopped trying to take over Taiwan militarily but also has never recognized it as independent.

The US and the UN, up to the the Nixon years, supported reunification of China under the ROC. Not the PRC. The PRC was not recognized as the official government until 1971. At that time the ROC withdrew from the UN but the US still supplies Taiwan with military aid for defense against the PRC and recognizes Taiwan as unofficially separate from China.
