Trump completely blew the idea that a president has no business even talking to the attorney general, except in well structured formal settings. The system involves intermediary formal contacts only. Literally if a president wants to make policy ideas known it is done through staff to the AG's staff.

Barr and his assistant was leaning on and pressuring the New York district court on everything to do with Cohen and campaign violations involved with the multiple hush money cases they were looking at, Berman credibly claims that
...They wanted charges dropped on Cohen, which Berman refused to do
...They were told to stop all investigations into campaign violations since a president cannot be indicted
...the false premise being that he can't even be investigated
...Cohen's indictment was to lose all of the multiple references to coconspirator #1, which was mostly done, not all

The reality is that when Cohen's charges were presented, the charging documents were in fact charges against trump that Cohen worked for and with his boss. They logically would have led to trump being charged under a real attorney general that wasn't working for and on behalf of trump. The DOJ claim made by Barr that a sitting president cannot be indicted is false, and the continued logic that if he can't be indicted he can't even be investigated is pure nonsensical stupidity.

Then there were other direct interferences with state and district prosecutors cases...the list of direct interferences is ridiculous. Everything from being told to lay off cases, prosecute people even when investigations showed no evidence, and literally letting people who had been charged, even when they had plead guilty, off as in drop charges...now who drops charges when they already have a guilty plea? Barr and trump did that, they wanted charges on Cohen dropped, Stone, and Flynn, and investigations into cases stopped because it involved trump and his people.

Senate Republicans to introduce nationwide a******n ban

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) will lead Senate Republicans in a push to pass a nationwide ban on a******n in a press conference Tuesday, less than two months before the November midterms, according to multiple reports.

Despite wording in an apparent press release calling it a “late-term” a******n ban, The Washington Post’s Caroline Kitchener says it is expected to call for a ban on all a******ns at or after 15 weeks.

“Tomorrow, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser, and pro-life women leaders will join Senator Lindsey Graham(R-SC) at a press conference at the U.S. Capitol for the introduction of the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term A******ns Act,” the press release from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America reads.

The move to impose a nationwide a******n ban barely into the second trimester comes less than three months after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, the nearly 50-year-old landmark decision that said there is a constitutional right to a******n. Justices and Republicans insisted it was a states’ rights issue, but with this push to ban a******n before some women even know they’re pregnant it’s clear the states’ rights claim was a smokescreen.

Politico’s Alice Miranda Ollstein also reported on the expected announcement by Sen. Graham.

The Supreme Court’s decision in the Dobbs case, rescinding the civil right to a******n, and the Democrats’ promise to make the right to a******n a federal law, along with President Biden’s historic legislative successes, have moved projected control of the Senate back to the Democrats.

Gallagher said she was terrified when federal agents showed up on her doorstep. She said that although she knew she had done nothing wrong, she had watched Biden’s speech the night before, so she thought this was political. She explained that the FBI agents told her they had received an anonymous tip that she was at the Capitol on J****** 6. She invited them into her home and showed them her calendars to show that she hadn’t been at the Capitol on that day.

Now, if this is all true, this is a frightening thing. At this point, after two years, they have to know of anyone who did anything at the Capitol on J*** 6. Are they truly trying to chase down people because of a random tip from someone? That’s terrifying not only because of the intimidation involved from the FBI, but that anyone could now turn in someone they don’t like with such a seemingly flimsy accusation. That is the kind of thing that happens in f*****t and C*******t nations.

Where are the Republicans calling all this out? The Republicans have been silent since on the stories of the subpoenas and the raids. Now, this isn’t even a “Trump ally,” but just a regular person. They should be even more concerned about that kind of action. Yet they seem very quiet. You don’t stop it by being quiet. You stop it by asking questions and demanding answers. You stop it by shining a bright light on it.
