Visa Caves on F**gging Guns and Ammo Sales

Visa Inc. has caved to gun control activists and will now f**g purchases made for guns and ammo sales. They will now separately categorize sales that happen at gun shops.

Just months ago, Robert B. Thomson III, a senior vice president of Visa, said the company believes "asking payment networks to serve as a moral authority by deciding which legal goods can or cannot be purchased sets a dangerous precedent."

Then over the weekend something completely changed. Visa agreed to adopt a new set of standards put forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which created a special merchant category code for gun stores to use.

“Following ISO’s decision to establish a new merchant category code, Visa will proceed with next steps, while ensuring we protect all legal commerce on the Visa network in accordance with our long-standing rules,” Visa said in a statement released Saturday.

So what changed? Glenn Beck points out that this was not started by credit card companies or banks. Glenn read a letter written by Sen. Warren and Representative Madeleine Dean (D-Pa.) that openly admitted that re-categorizing the purchase of guns and ammo would be "the first step towards facilitating the collection of valuable financial data that could help law enforcement in countering the financing of terrorism efforts.”

Eventually when you present a card that you bought ammo with to purchase gas or food it will be rejected because YOU ARE A GUN OWNER. It is just beginning. Welcome to C*******m.

I don't see the necessity in doing this. I thought in most cases otems we buy with our credit or debit card had a description or code already on the receipt. It list the items you bought and what you paid. If one would like to trace gun and ammo purchase it seems as though you could do that now. There might not be a separate code for a specific gun or ammo store but the items bought should have been recorded somewhere.
I really don't care if anyone knows I bought a gun or ammo as long as it does not bring unwarranted invasion of my rights and privileges as a free American. If the government really wanted to know who and where someone bought a gun or ammo , they could do it now without thus added code.

There is no necessity in doing this....unless you want to track gun owners and "cancel" them like is being done with Trump supporters now....for instance.
Many years ago in Iowa (60 years) you had to have a separate card to buy liquor at an Iowa owned liquor store. And all legal liquor stores were owned by the Iowa Liquor Monopoly. You didn't walk in and browse the isles. You went to a counter and looked up at a "Menu" with an item number beside each item and you filled out a card for your order. What went wrong was that auto insurance companies obtained access to these records and raised the price of auto insurance for the drivers that they bought too much liquor.

Forget using a credit or debit card, just make a withdrawal from your bank and pay for the guns and ammo with cash. Never in my life have I bought guns or ammo with a credit card.

We have one shop that in no way reflects it’s major business model. They sell a small amount of something else and their business is named for that something. Purchases never show any reference to ammunition or reloading components.

You can always use the loan the credit card folks are offering & use the cash instead of the card. Beat them at their own game. Never buy something with a credit card unless you've got the cash to cover the purchase anyway.

If you have the cash to cover the purchase, why bother with a credit card?

Can you hit an ATM for cash to make your gun/ammo purchase and let the credit card companies yell at the sky?
