The GOP does want reforms, one of the many and biggest problems is not the GOP, it is lobbying of both GOP and Dems. I think the landscape would look completely different, had lobbying been outlawed decades ago.

I agree with you Jerry, I am firm that government stay out, this is a state issue. The FDA makes it impossible for small companies to compete in pharmaceuticals, which congress could change. Hospitals are the only business I am aware of that must provide a service with no guarantee of payment, at the very least if the feds are going to be involved they should retain tax refunds for non payments, forwarded towards hospital collections.
Should the feds mandate restaurants feed the low income even if they cannot pay, as they do hospitals? Or JcPenny's, where should the feds begin and end mandates? State run, sliding scale and the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines makes sense, unlike obamacare.
Lastly make accepting lobby $$$ a criminal offense, outlaw all lobbying with zero tolerance and mandatory prison sentence for Congress and Senate.
Change preexisting clauses, currently the law makes no sense. No different than not having home owners insurance for twenty years, your house burn down, purchase a policy and everything is paid on the backs of other policy owners. Accept preexisting, when switching companies, or a gap for unemployment and so on.

This plan was so radical, and the gop did not want government in the insurance business. There were other plans working with the states to expand medicaid, which if you did not know every low income person qualifies for already.
