Sorry, trick question, since the answer is in the question itself. Despite the generations of apathy and ignorance leading to the opposite, elected officials are still public servants. As with any employer, the people have a right to examine their employees conduct, and for public servants - even their off time is subject to review. Elected officials do NOT have the right to claim privacy rules, since their behavior reflects upon their employers 24/7/365, in every circumstance and every area. If they don't want such scrutiny......................they should find another line of work.

Those elected officials who have business interests, unless there is a complete divesting of those interests, ALL of their business dealings are legally subject to the people's review. An elected official and business man/woman, may NOT claim privacy or executive privilege, since those dealings may impact their service. It is the people's right under the Constitution, to determine if conflicts of interest exist or not, and "trust me" or "take my word for it" are NOT and adequate defense.

From the highest office in the land to the lowest, the people's interests are paramount and superior to all other interests, and it is the PEOPLE who have the right to determine whether or not this is being upheld........and NOT at the polls. One group of citizens do not have the right to dismiss any other groups concerns over potential malfeasance.

The bottom line is this; Public servants behavior, decisions and conduct is subject to review at any time, for any reason. Public servants give up certain privacy rights for the privilege of serving, and if they are unwilling to do so, they must find employment elsewhere. There are NO provisions for secrecy from or by any branch of Government, from any other branch, as there are persons with sufficient security clearances to review any and ALL functions of every other branch or agency.

Public officials MUST avoid even the appearance of impropriety, and MUST respond with alacrity and completeness to any and all requests for documentation/testimony from the people's Representatives. If you haven't done anything wrong................................you should be eager to prove it.

The topic has come up, that there are protocols for p**********l discussions with foreign entities, especially adversaries. When Trump was criticized early on for insisting on secrecy, the only defense in his favor was that Obama talked to Putin alone for a few minutes so it was okay.

There are dozens of good reasons why every minute of discussions between the president and adversarial leaders need to be 100% monitored and t***scribed, which they are supposed to be. This prevents a foreign leader from claiming our president said something he did not, promises, commitments, threats, bribes, wh**ever, he needs witnesses.

Trump has had multiple conversations with Putin that he didn't even disclose, we have no idea what was said. Then we have found out about them through Russian press, which is Putin's propaganda machine, Putin says what he wants to say. Trump says conversations were meaningless when we find out about one, then the Russian press makes claims about conversations and involvements that are definitely more than nothing. We can assume that conversations with dictators are conversations with liars who could easily be believed to lie about what the president says. But then we have a president that quite frankly can't be believed for a second when he tries to relay his side of a conversation, which leaves us with a dire need for 100% monitored conversations.

Now we have a whistle blower complaint that is marked urgent, must be dealt with as soon as possible. National security is not a time for obstructing serious complaints that involve national security, disturbing promises made. It is ridiculous to think someone is going to jeopardize their career over something silly, and impossible to believe that the Intelligence Inspector General is going to validate something as urgent that is not. Laws are there for a reason, and those involving national security and the intelligence community are more serious than most.

Full disclosure. I didn’t watch all of the hearing of some teenagers ripping congress because they’re anxiety levels are through the roof because they are all gonna die because of c*****e c****e. Frankly I turned the hearing off because it’s so pitiful. First; shame on the left for terrifying the kids. Secondly; shame on the parents for allowing the left to do this. These dumbass kids are actually convinced that OAC is right about the world ending in 12 years. I wonder if any of these kids are willing to quit buying everything produced by f****l f**ls?

There are several OPP cons who are always pointing out anything that a liberal or democrat does that offends them, and it is no surprise that they overlook everything a conservative, white christian evangelical republican does, such as this sleaze ball who was arrested and resigned from office, because he is guilty, and his mouthpiece lawyer will come up with a defense of mental illness or some such.

Recently we had a discussion among OPPER’s that was fairly civil on Red F**g laws. Of course most on the right are against them and most on the left are for them.
Ken Buck. Congressman from Colorado tried to pass a Red F**g Law targeting known gang members that are listed in police data bases. More than 80% of homicides are committed by gang members. Makes sense. If your going to pass a Red F**g Law you should have that law used against known gang bangers. Right? Nope. The Democrats v**ed it down because, get this, data bases could have some people in them that shouldn’t be. Yet, they have no problem with everyday Americans who have never done anything wrong possibly being targeted by someone with a grudge. There’s what’s wrong with red F**g laws and the Democrats.

We live in a nation of Self Righteous people that can do no wrong.
Every one else is unwelcome in their world.

I am one who can call my self part of the right people if I wished.
I say wish to stress that we need to have a system that has room for all.
As a older white male in the past I just accepted my white privileges' with out question.
At about six years old. (!942-43 I saw a colored lady drink from a water bubbler that was mark colored next to one that was marked white. The first colored person I had ever seen.
After the lady left I went & took a drink from both faucets.
I could not tell any difference

I just went home to my white roots.
This has stuck with me through the years.

At about 22 years old I went for a job interview:
I don't recall seeing any white faces.
Just lots of black faces.
Many just milling around outside.
People went in & people came out.
I questioned my self for hang around. But I did & my turn came & they took me in for a physical & told me I had a job.

I was greatly relived to find I was called in for a difference job for the next day. One that was hiring both black & white.
So I had a job.

Late in the year I was drafted into the army. Where my whiteness lead to a job in a personnel office of a Battalion. One day a black person showed up to be a part of the offices. He just was gone in a flash.
I had not had the training for that job & the black man did.

I am not clear in just how & when the issue became an issue for me.
I will just say that I try to treat every one I meet with respect.

I am faced with some in my own family that I feel sure do not agree with me.

For what ever it is worth we need to treat each other with the respect we wish to receive from others..


I just feel that there needs to be room in our system where all have a chance to be an effective part of the whole.
