Puds,

I agree with your assessment here. However, I do think that this issue is clear -cut. We have a court decision that benefits our state, yet state-appointed regulators are joining with Duke Energy to appeal this decision. Do you think this is sufficiently straightforward enough to mobilize a REAL opposition?

Your reply infers that making Duke Energy clean up their mess would shut down their energy production. Obviously not true.

Yes, Duke Energy shareholders may, in the future, receive less dividends, but the true cost of their energy production must include the true environment damage they have committed.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina regulators are joining with Duke Energy in appealing a judge's ruling on cleaning up groundwater pollution l***hing from the company's coal ash dumps.

The state Environmental Management Commission filed notice Monday that it intends to appeal a March 6 ruling by Superior Court Judge Paul Ridgeway.

Why is OUR state appealing a decision mandating Duke Energy to clean up its pollution?? Who are the regulators representing, Duke Energy or North Carolina?? 8 of these 15 were appointed by our present governor Pat McCrory Apparently McCrory's ties to Duke Energy override his duty to protect North Carolina.

What I want here is to organize a viable protest. I do not care if you are liberal, conservative,Christian or atheist. Instead of just talking about the issues that frustrate us let us do something.

Well stated!!!!! The push towards bigness seems to allow a few to "skim" the profit, while the many deal with externalized costs of pollution, low wages and instability (wages, schedules, job security, health-care etc,...).

The left complains about big business. The right complains about big government. The key word is, "big."

You don't" give a dam about other Bibles". You should learn to spell, but you don't need to because you don't give a damn.

You hit the nail on the head; you cannot change the mind of many Christians because their minds are closed.

Exactly!! Do NOT worship the unworthy.

Use your mind, heart and soul within your morality to do the best you can. And do not cloak yourself in the veils of religion to justify your close-mindedness.

Do you really believe that Hitler, Mao and other despots arose because they were not Christians???

Do you also believe that the Borgias gained power because they were Christians???

Open your eyes to the many shades of gray; Most issues and people are complex and not just black or white.
