"The Crucifixion" as scripturally written

At the Garden of Gethsemane in the very early hours of the morning, while the Apostles of Jesus slept no longer able to hold their eyes open, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ begins to experience extreme mental suffering of sorry and grief over his upcoming trial and physical death. Three different times he prays to God the Father for any other way to succeed in this rather than to drink from the cup of death; but yet, God his Father's will be done. Matthew 26:37-45.
In this same hour a great multitude sent by Chief Jewish Priests and Elders, with swords and spears lead by Judas Iscar**t (one of the disciples), came to arrest our Lord. First, Jesus was taken to Annas, High Priest and Father-in-law to Ciaphas, also High Priest, for questioning. Here is our Lord hit in the face with an open palm of the hand for speaking the up-front honesty of his teachngs, and those having heard him as witnesses. John 18:22.
Next, Jesus is taken before the High Priest Caiaphas for his trial. Here, after answering to being the Son of God, is our Lord repeatedly being spit in his face, repeatedly punched (buffeted) in the face with fists, the very hairs of the beard on his face ripped out, blind folded where he was repeatedly hit in the face with open palm of the hand and told to prophecy who was hitting him. This went on until morning. Matthew 26:63-68. Mark 14:65. Luke 22:63-66.
By morning Jesus is delivered to Pontius Pilate for sentencing, but found not guilty or worthy of death, so next Jesus is sent to Herod. King Herod, along with his men of war dress Jesus up as a king in which to mock, then send him back to Pilate. Luke 23:7-11.
Once back to Pilate, Jesus is chastised (whipped) with a cat-of-nine tails. This is a whip with nine cords h*****g from it. Each cord has metal type beads up and down it, some sharpened down for a cutting edge. Our Lords back is whipped, ripped and torn. Luke 23:16. John 19:1.
Right after being whipped, the Roman Soldiers again dress Jesus in a royal robe for which to be mocked, place a staff in his hand, fashioning a crown of sharp thorns for his head. They take the staff from his hand and repeatedly hit Jesus about the head with it, hitting him with their open palmed hands some more, and again repeatedly spit in his face. Matthew 27:27-31. John 19:2-5.
Next, a very heavy and large piece of wood is fixed upon his shoulders to d**g among a loud jeering crowd that is spitting, swearing, and kicking. Amid sheer physical exhaustion, Jesus collapses under the weight and falls driving his knees and bruised, swollen face into the dirt. Isaiah 52:14, 53:5.
Once upon Calvary, the soldiers lay Jesus out in the cross and hammer spikes into his hands (wrists), through into the wood. They place his feet one atop the other and drive another spike through both arches into the wood, and suspend him upright. After several hours of agony, he gave up his spirit to God.

How do we pray to ask forgiveness for our sins? Bow your head in reverence to your Lord, Savior, and King Jesus Christ. Confess your sin(s) with tears of shame, ask for his pardon, and then as he did once finished with the cross, put it behind you. Then try harder to do better with his teachings as your guide.

"Like a child" ..... No matter WHAT my granddaughters have done,,, they run to me and hug me and it is over.

That is how we are to treat the Christ,,, we run to him, even though we don't deserve it,,,, and thank him for his sacrifice,,, and he is happy with that,,, so why should I argue with him??

Fairy tales everywhere...Some have titles like ,"Grimms Fairy Tales". Others have titles like, The Koran, The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Vedas, The Bagavadida, The Book of Changes etc....

Try to look at our world with the wonder of a child, the mind of a scientist and the true spirit of one who has no preconceived simplistic notions. It might be scary to admit you don't understand everything, but if you open your eyes and mind you might actually get a bit closer to understanding our world.

Is your title "Kush" to go with purple kush- a type of marijuana, or the Kush of India. Because here in America the K is removed and replaced with a C. Might explain the way you think better, knowing where your head is at, when commenting to a Christian post.

I read Grimm's Fairy Tales when I was a little girl, and loved every story! Don't put those books down as they teach little girls how to dream and be creative. I wouldn't know how to have Faith in something unseen as an adult if I hadn't been able to dream as a little girl.

My fairy tale? Try the rich, wonderful universe we live in, not the 2 dimensional delusions in old books.

Interesting, and contrary to the complaints of the "non-believers" I have not experienced a single "christian" trying to prosetheltize on here,,, yet each of you MUST attempt to convert anyone who even quotes doctrine,,,

Seems like the true beleivers in your faith are the ones who cannot tolerate others beleifs, and demand conversion,,,

There is no blinder faith, than the faith of "non-belief" ie yours, in which you have convinced yourself that it isnt a faith, yet your "tenets" require adherance and wont tolerate opposition or even the existence of other religions.

Yes, I am trying to convert people to open their eyes and use their brains instead of eating force-fed pablum.

The universe is huge and incredibly complex. Any Bible is, at best, a condensed version of reality, and, at worst, a distorted, myopic, perverse and perverted view.

Well, you are the one "force feeding" a religion that has at its center, "YOU" and your own inestimable opinion of your intellect and deity,,, which historically has led to such great and benevolent leaders as hitler, Mao, Kim Jung Il,,,etc

No thanks I will stick with the stuffy old religion and refuse to pray at the altar of "you"

Do you really believe that Hitler, Mao and other despots arose because they were not Christians???

Do you also believe that the Borgias gained power because they were Christians???

Open your eyes to the many shades of gray; Most issues and people are complex and not just black or white.

I believe.....

1. That I will obtain more answers from the "tired old religious book" than I will from someone who worships himself.

2. That putting faith in "humanity," led to those men ascending to the positions they did, and that self absorption led them to justify genocide.

3. That at every step of the way, Good men convinced themselves that each situation was only slightly "grayer" than the previous, until their souls went completely black and that they realized that after the wars when it was revealed to them what they had allowed to happen.

4. That it is pretty "black and white" that those men murdered over a hundred million people.

5. That you pray at the altar of yourself when you think you have godly tendencies.

6. That an intellect that sees too many "shades of gray" is in danger of having no foundational doctrine, and is not worthy of worship.

Exactly!! Do NOT worship the unworthy.

Use your mind, heart and soul within your morality to do the best you can. And do not cloak yourself in the veils of religion to justify your close-mindedness.

Your title name was 'straightup' and then changed it to Kush, right?

You can stop following me around now, and start your own antichrist post. You won't change a Christians mind, so maybe on your own post we can change yours? Hows that?

Blindly, you cannot see that you are "unworthy" the lesson is that ALL men are unworthy,,,,,,,because what you try to say,, has already been said.

The "worthier" of the two is the one who first thought and said it,,, 2046 (+ or -) years ago.....

You hit the nail on the head; you cannot change the mind of many Christians because their minds are closed.
