Our criminal justice system is built on the fact that an individual is responsible for the crimes they commit – not their family members or people who look like them. We don’t judge people to be guilty only because they may look like a person who has done something wrong. Even identical twins would not be judged equally guilty if one committed a crime and the other didn’t. This also applies to social justice as well. There is no such thing as collective guilt – only individual guilt.

Your daughter has a right to be furious. I totally agree. When my stepson and his wife got married, between the two of them they owed close to $100,000 in student loans. They both got jobs and lived with the in-laws (not fun for them, I hear) for almost two years. They lived very frugally but got it all paid off in that time and have since moved on and bought a house and started a family. It was not easy, but they paid what they owed. It is very unfair that they should now have to pay more in taxes to cover deadbeats who won't work or do what is necessary to pay what they owe.

But these sjw types don't give a hoot about what's fair. They give a hoot about themselves an what it will take to get .. and keep .. the power they seek.
