When did the people give Congress the right to set it's own pay and benefits, work schedule and vacation days? It didn't happen all at once, but it happened none the less. I'm reminded of the "way to boil a frog", which is to raise the temp gradually so the frog doesn't catch on..................we're the frogs.
Now, people act like there's nothing they can do to stop the stupid s**t.....which is exactly what those perpetrating the stupid s**t want them to think. How did women gain the right to v**e? It certainly wasn't because a bunch of male lawmakers woke up one day and decided it was time, no, a great many women suffered physical and mental abuse for years to see it done. Black people won the RIGHT to v**e at the end of s***ery, but it took another century, and much blood, sweat and tears to see them ALLOWED to v**e.
King George didn't give us our independence, we fought and bled and died for it. Business magnates didn't give their workers the right to collectively bargain, they fought, bled and died for that right. Anyone see a pattern here?
The only things we're given today are - the runaround, packs of lies, excuses, threats and at the end of the day..............................a huge ass bill our great grand children will have to pay. Why complain, there's nothing we can do about that, right? Well, there is, but it will take some gumption, some time and yes, some suffering, but it CAN be done.......................because we've done it before.
I am NOT talking about signing on to some political party's agenda, which is absolutely anathema to getting control of our Government back, because the people fronting for those parties....................are the problem, not the solution. Every political party has only one goal with multiple prongs; the goal is to get/keep power for their OWN benefit, by keeping the people running around worrying about s**t that doesn't amount to much AND making the people believe their party is going to fix some stuff. If any party was actually able to, or more accurately, cared to, fix some stuff, they'd have been fixing the hell out of stuff already.
We can't do anything about the out of control Congress, Judicial system, administrative branch or the major political parties...........................because we're either too lazy to do it, or we just don't want to pay the price.
When did the people give Congress the right to set... (

There is a lot of common sense and t***h in what you say. Thanks for posting.
