It focused on submitting to God and resisting the devil.
Sounds very simple to make the devil flee. However, submitting to God is a hard proposition unless one is totally sold out to Jesus.
There is a saying, "If Jesus is not Lord of all He is not Lord at all."
Submission to God means that everything you have and are belongs to our heavenly Father. That is the hard part. Remember the story of the rich ruler who asked Jesus about having eternal life. Remember what happened? He walked slowly away.. :XD:
If you are submitted to God, resisting the devil is easy. However, if one cannot pass the submit test, there is no way one can pass the resist test. All our joy, peace, security, rests in saying, "Thy will not my will be done."
Anyone who says the Christian life is easy is deluded and has not experienced the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I know this sounds harsh, but the t***h is not always easy to handle.
I pray daily that God will give me the courage and strength to allow Him to be the Lord of my life.
Jesus said it this way. "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Jesus is not only our savior, He is our pattern.

You know I am rich in knowledge, and rich in wisdom, but I am broke and unemployed. The excuses that I hear from my leaders is that it is someone elses fault. Yeah Okay.
But when I enter into the shelter of the Lord, I am accepted. There are others in my position that don't experience this. I have seen the great power of God and His Son and there is a sense of freedom.
Prosperity is given to the man who can serve. Therefore, the same challenges that a poor man has, is the same challenges a rich man has. Let me explain.
A poor man is worried about feeding his family, and sheltering his family. This man is not lonely, for he has his family.
A rich man is worried about keeping his riches. He guards them with all his might. He pays for friends and family. Yet he is not happy, not truly.
Jesus taught us that "the first shall be last and the last shall be first." Jesus taught us that if the poor man and the rich man work together, where the rich man is the servant to the poor man, then the poor man will gain in riches, and the rich man will gain a friend that is loyal. For the poor man through the nature of his adverse life, has true loyal friends and family, and the rich man has dogs and thieves has his friends and family.
But if the rich man and the poor man work together for a common cause, and the rich man teaches the poor man to be rich, and the poor man teaches the rich man to be wise, both are raised in grace.
I did not believe this for I once was a rich man. I gave up my riches for the kingdom of God. I asked for wisdom and wisdom was granted to me, so others say, I do not know.
All I know is what others say, and there is a great and positive response. God protects all of us, if we listen to that silent voice. This is what it is like to be Christian, and know love.
"Love one another as I have loved you", Christ did not come for the righteous, He came for the sinner. We are all sinners. If you read Romans, like I did yesterday, you will understand that living in the Lord God Almighty's kingdom is based in love.
So where is your love, is your love in money, men or God. This is the mystery, if you love money, you will be prosperous but it is a very lonely place. If you love Mankind, and God, you will become great, and the halls of your house will be filled with people.
It is simply amazing how the poor among us has more faith, than the rich. That the parties the poor have, are grander with less, then the rich with all their riches.
Now, I can go on and on, but I will end my statement with, I am happier now that I am with Jesus Christ, then if I go my own way. For Christ opens the door to so many interesting people, and His beauty is within each and everyone of us.
