exactly, and right now in my life I find it hard to believe there is a god, but I am trying to figure things out, till then I guess I am an atheist.

I posted three threads last week all dealing with respect. I found that respect is not always at hand. I have concluded that I have my little corner on OPP and from there I will endeavor to have respect. Perhaps from my little corner the idea can catch on. I find myself being a bit out of line at times so I have a ways to go.

If you are consistent with every post you make, I have found that you can weed out all those hard in the mind. naturally many will treat you the same, so long as you don't come off as passive aggressive. for example, if I were to treat bojester as anyone else here that I respect, he will respond in a passive-aggressive defensive way that shows that he isn't here to make friends, he is here to scream what he believes at the top of his lungs, expecting the same in return. if you surprise him with kindness and respect, he will be a bit cautious, but after a while if you put up with his passive sneers every now and then, you can actually talk with him until he gets bored again and will probably attack you. and indirectly try to indoctrinate you.
I only needed to talk to him twice on PM to make that assumption, his messages give a lot away.
I have been a lot more candid recently because I am getting tired of being a gentleman. I kinda enjoyed it too, but it takes a lot outta ya when people don't settle down.

While it may be honoring the roots of America, some may confuse that as mocking, to have a human being as a mascot implies that it is silly and wacky and not to be taken seriously.
I think that is the premise of their thoughts on that.
It is most likely misunderstood as being offensive by those without a sense of humor. a lot of people don't seem to have a sense of humor anyways.

Since Kmitale posted, Let's talk about Christians, lets see what the Bible says about, atheist. God states, they are fools, corrupt, wicked, evil, lovers of themselves, will h**e Christians, there father is Satan, God says He will turn them over to a reprobate mind,(let them go and won't even deal with them any longer and will allow them to live their ungodly lives), and so on. What a terrible state to be in. Now what I don't understand is, why do they get on websites and condemn Christians constantly. Maybe Kmitale can answer why, he h**es me and other Christians so much, and why he has to posted this terrible post, about Christians. We are required by Jesus Christ, to spread His gospel to the world. We h**e to see souls lost. We are not trying to force it on anyone. I can only conclude, what Christ said, they h**ed me and they will h**e you. Yet, I realize everyone will not accept Christ. When I lived my worldly life, i did not even want to talk to Christians and would cross the street, to avoid one. I don't get it.

well I guess a lot of people would call me an atheist, but I actually promote Christianity because of it's external ideals. does that make me foul and h**e filled? No, I am just testing the waters on a different spectrum, and the christian way... I simply don't feel like I can follow it myself right now, yet I admire it, it's very... consistent and kind, and I agree with almost all the new testament's ideals. One day I will hopefully come back to it and have faith, but right now it is null, so you may as well classify me as atheist.

Most theoretical physicists believe that we live in a multi-verse rather than a universe.
The next time you're driving down the highway notice those singular white stripes that define a lane. If you added all of them up that you drove past during an average lifetime, the total would represent a tiny fraction compared to the number of galaxies there are in THIS universe.
Sorry to break the news to those who think that we on this planet have some special relationship with the Creator.

If this means so much to you, fly to the Black Sea and donate yourself to whichever side you would rather back. The rest of us have no interest in sacrificing our children and wallets to more failed military "adventures". Some call it war fatigue. You can call it wh**ever you wish.

I never said anything about military intervention.
I said politics.
please, would you kindly stop putting words in my mouth, it doesn't work on me, sorry.
so again, do you have anything to add?

I think your question is a great one. It's right up their with the folks who asked, "can you figure out what's going on in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan? What did I figure out? That we should mind our own fu*king business.

Maybe we should, because this is our fucking business, because this involves us, our government, this effects our economy, our lives, what goes on in the world is our issue to, because we are a world power, and are something everyone in conflict considers because we have resources, manpower, political influence and global reach to affect them and for them to affect us. our politics is in question here, theirs is too, because we the people are being left in the dark by the media while our government is doing its own thing. we are forced to put the pieces together by ourselves, and that pisses off the ones who care, because we should be able to have a balanced government under the constitution, yet that is being squandered little by little whether you choose to acknowledge it or not because the people who care about what is going on in the world are going extinct.
so this is our fucking business.
do you have anything to add?

REEDUCATION AND REASSIGNMENT OF ACCEPTABLE SEXUAL ORIENTATION ACCORDING TO RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY IS ILLEGAL AND IMMORAL.

I spent this past week evaluating your post and your references. Let me first state that, as a fully trained medical doctor with a specialty in psychiatry, I am quite able to adequately evaluate you, your claims of scientific orthodoxy and your reported activity.

Your
1. obvious religious bias,
2. your preferential use of junk p***********e, discredited sources and authors,
3. your bigoted conclusions and
4. Your call to illegal action,

all demand condemnation of the highest sort.

Your humble manner, long-suffering attitude and pseudoscientific approach are a pose! You are promoting h**e speech and a call for mind control. You are not mistaken or ignorant or deluded. You understand the exact nature of what you persist at promoting and insist you are doing and continue to do in direct violation of the laws of the land and all laws of decency. That you are aware that you are doing this is obvious and evident in your efforts to misdirect and deceive and cloak yourself in victimhood.

You wrap yourself in false piety to disguise yourself and your agenda of REEDUCATION AND REASSIGNMENT OF ACCEPTABLE SEXUAL ORIENTATION ACCORDING TO RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY in order to gain sympathy and support from good hearted people with less sophisticated backgrounds and ability to discern the good from the bad, true from false, in scientific exploration, study and reporting.

You inflame religious passions by decrying the sin and your "love" for the "sinner." You further inflame by falsely presenting yourself as a properly educated, credentialed and principled but much maligned caregiver. You do not describe your own (lack of?) education, training, expertise, experience and CREDENTIALS. In fact, I believe you are a bigot! You offer snake oil! You sing your own praises at your criminal disregard for well-known legal and ethical practices. You are a charletan.

Change your own wording only slightly and your equaually rapacious desire becomes obvious:
"But the kids were left to fend for themselves and were therefore very needy and thought that the nice (Christian) men wanted to be their friend when all they wanted was to "befriend " them so they could (convert) them. One of the problems we dealt with was the mantra "I was just showing you that (Christianity) is nice and if you were not really (a good person inside) you wouldn't have (emotionally) responded!"

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

Real life stories that teach you many things in life. Excellent reading; read all; the 9th and 10th are masterpieces!

The following stories have wonderful shades of emotions. These are based on true incidences both wonderful and inspirational. These stories will remove some wrong misconceptions that we have about the people and life in general.

1. Today, when I slipped on the wet tile floor a boy in a wheelchair caught me before I slammed my head on the ground. He said, Believe it or not, that's almost exactly how I injured my back 3 years ago.

2. Today, my father told me, Just go for it and give it a try! You don't have to be a professional to build a successful product. Amateurs started Google and Apple. Professionals built the Titanic.

3. Today, I asked my mentor a very successful business man in his 70's

what his top 3 tips are for success. He smiled and said, Read something no one else is reading, think something no one else is thinking, and do something no one else is doing
.

4. Today, I interviewed my grandmother for part of a research paper I'm working on for my Psychology class. When I asked her to define success in her own words, she said, Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile.

5. I am blind by birth. When I was 8 years old, I wanted to play baseball. I asked my father- "Dad, can I play baseball?" He said "You'll never know until you try." When I was a teenager, I asked him, - "Dad can I become a surgeon?". He replied "Son, you'll never know until you try." Today after my own successful sight restoration surgery, I am a surgeon, just because I tried!

6. Today, after a 72 hour shift at the fire station, a woman ran up to me at the grocery store and gave me a hug. When I tensed up, she realized I didn't recognize her. She let go with tears of joy in her eyes and the most sincere smile and said, On 9-11-2001, you carried me out of the World Trade Center.

7. Today, after I watched my dog get run over by a car, I sat on the side of the road holding him and crying. And just before he died, he licked the tears off my face.

8. Today at 7AM, I woke up feeling ill, but decided I needed the money, so I went into work. At 3PM I got laid off. On my drive home I got a flat tire. When I went into the trunk for the spare, it was flat too. A man in a BMW pulled over, gave me a ride, we chatted, and then he offered me a job. I start tomorrow.

9. Today, as my father, three brothers, and two sisters stood around my mother's hospital bed, my mother uttered her last coherent words before she died. She simply said, I feel so loved right now. We should have gotten together like this more often.

10. Today, I kissed my dad on the forehead as he passed away in a small hospital bed. About 5 seconds after he passed, I realized it was the first time I had given him a kiss since I was a little boy.

11. Today, in the cutest voice, my 8-year-old daughter asked me to start recycling. I chuckled and asked, Why? She replied, So you can help me save the planet. I chuckled again and asked, And why do you want to save the planet?

Because that's where I keep all my stuff, she said.

12. Today, when I witnessed a 27-year-old breast cancer patient laughing hysterically at her 2-year-old daughter's antics, I suddenly realized that I need to stop complaining about my life and start celebrating it again.

12. Today, a boy in a wheelchair saw me desperately struggling on crutches with my broken leg and offered to carry my backpack and books for me. He helped me all the way across campus to my class and as he was leaving he said, I hope you feel better soon.

13. Today, I was traveling in Kenya and I met a refugee from Zimbabwe. He said he hadn't eaten anything in over 3 days and looked extremely skinny and unhealthy. Then my friend offered him the rest of the sandwich he was eating. The first thing the man said was, We can share it.
