All my comment was about concerned McCain's service. I believe that anyone who serves in the military and endures what McCain endured deserves recognition for such service which he did NOT get from Trump. What he did after his military service was not treasonous therefore his sacrifice for his country while in the Navy no matter what deserves praise. The last time I checked people didn't have to completely agree with Mr. Trump to be patriotic Americans. Such blind loyalty leads to dictatorship!

McCain was a true American hero: his war record included around 5 years in a Vietnamese prison. Trump was dealing with bone spurs in his feet. Perhaps his severe health problem is making him unable to appreciate the sacrifice of this loyal American veteran...

Any congressman who, with his partisan colleges put out the results of a committee investigation that completely ignores the other parties' input is obviously turning out a biased, politically inspired, document: not a function of what our Congress is about. Official congressional reports are supposed to be a consensus item, not something more suitable to a political campaign speech.

The question lies in evangelicals openly supporting people who have broken many of the Ten Commandments openly and unapologetically because of their support for a few politically charged religious positions. It seems that they have chosen to ignore Biblical admonishments against such things as adultery and greed. It seems that they feel good Christians can pick and choose what part of The Word they support for political reasons.

I agree with your thoughtful and very accurate description of the current situation. Trump is doing what he is doing to negate the influence of the Iranian and Russian power of control over EU and others through manipulation of the energy market. What I wonder about is can the US compete economically using LNG. Will the EU be willing to pay more for natural gas from the US when we are pressuring them to up their ante to NATO at the same time? Of course, the other side of that coin: the US would then be in the position to do the same thing to the EU: control through energy manipulation. Businessman Trump would profit economically and politically from such a move which fit into his primary goal: enriching Trump

The Republican party goes to great lengths to prove that fraud is rampant in our e******ns locally and yet it appears they approve of and support Russian interference in our e******ns. True American patriots believe in our Constitution which unequivocally states the separation of church and state. That means that Christian values played an undeniable part in the makeup of the Constitution but prohibits those Christian values that prevent the free practice of other religions such as Islam, Judaism, and Shinto. A good example of how Theocracy ( what Freedom of Religion prohibits ) works is the government of Iran. Perhaps those so called Christians who push Theocracy as "religious freedom" wish they lived in Iran.

I agree 100%. My entire career in health care was based on that premise: I worked in nearly every type of hospital and spent over half of it in a place where anyone who came in the door received care regardless of financial or political considerations.

The line I was fed in the early '70's: "The drug companies need the money so that they can develop new drugs like antibiotics for the good of mankind": that has morphed into for the good of stockholders at the expense of the general US public. Other countries get a pass. Trump says he's going to fix this; lets hope he does.

Conservative Christians are willing to ignore immorality of all sorts save that of same-sex marriage and homosexuality. Adultry, divorce, thievery, etc. are OK so long as conservatisim keeps same-sex marriage and "those Gays" under their thumb. I hope conservative Muslims adhere to their religious mores more closley than our conservative Christians
