Yes, ain't the first time in history it has happened. For example, even under the grandiose illusions of making their country great, Hitler and the N**is did one hell of a job destroying their own country. But that is an extreme example. So, we have to define our terms here.
America was founded as a Constitutional Republic, our constitution is the immutable framework for just such a republic. However, the democrats (in name only) are progressives, hard core statists who are hell bent on "fundamentally t***sforming America" into something diametrically opposed to a nation of free citizens. America was founded as a nation of free people with a government by consent of the governed. The progressives are fighting to establish America as a government with a country of subjects, in other words, an authoritarian socialist oligarchy. What is truly sad is that Marx' Utopia is an impossible dream.
