Agreed, in the main. BUT I do believe the greater aim of the education system is more to tell our kids what to think than teaching them how to think for themselves. Yes, all that begins at home and in no way are parents absolved from their responsibility.
As you say, parents must be very much up-front with their children's teachers as to what the parent expects from the school system; this lets the system know that it is dealing with a concerned, involved parent, not one of the child's friends. Thanks for your patience.
