I seem to hear this quite often these days. Somehow, because I don't think the government should have these programs to help people :roll: , I am some sort of evil being.

I think this comes from something the Bible says about helping other people. But I think the Bible is talking about willingly giving. Not reach into your neighbor's pocket to help someone else. I think theft is just as wrong, or worse, than not helping.

When there is some program that causes some one to stay dependent on such program, that is not helping anyone. Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for life.

Before anyone bad mouths me let me tell you where I come from. For a time I had a nine month old child and a pregnant wife and we lived in a convertible with the back window broken out during a couple of months in winter. That is the bottom of the barrel I have been to but I didn't live off any government program.

The entitlement folks refuse to acknowledge that there is no free lunch. They DO know that but want someone else's sweat to provide for them. I'm beginning to understand why God told the Israelites, when going into the promised land, to k**l ALL of the previous inhabitants. Some will NOT receive the t***h that we call logic and the evidence from history.
They refuse to accept that if someone or something ('government') provides all their needs then they are s***es! If the government can give them what they want then government can take EVERYTHING, including life, when they're no longer useful. Government bureaucrats (un-elected) will decide who goes and who stays. That's the ugly t***h.

"The real story" (as you call it) is the story made public, not necessarily the "true story". The is absolutely no reason to "honor" someone (even as great as Daly) 84 years after the fact. Having everyone in the USMC wear the same head cover as Daly doesn't really accomplish this "honor". He didn't design it, it was the uniform of the day at the time. Who knows, maybe he didn't even like that cover. There is more to this than we know, and it probably has more to do with "money" than anything else.

Name one Government Alphabet Agency that has gotten smaller over time. (In this Century, I don't mean the Freeman's Bureau). Bureacracies are cancers. Instead of elevated white cell counts, they produce elevated bureaucrat counts, which produces tomes full of useless, contradictory regulations to justify the increase in useless apparatchiks. It is a proven fact of evolutionary science that bureacrats evolved from l***hes, while losing all of that animals more endearing, positive characteristics during the process.

why should we the public pay for any one to run for office.
why should they get to v**e on what they will or will not get.
let get rid of the e*****rate colleage to start with your v**e doesnt count any way .
